KYLIE MORGAN EARNS FIRST-EVER RIAA GOLD-CERTIFIED SINGLE “IF HE WANTED TO HE WOULD.”

Kylie Morgan has earned her first-ever RIAA Gold-Certified single with her breakout hit, “If He Wanted To He Would.” UMG Nashville Chair & CEO Cindy Mabe surprised Kylie with the news recently, along with a plaque to commemorate the milestone.

“I have been writing songs as a form of therapy since I was twelve,” shares Kylie. “I have always dreamed of one of those therapy sessions turning into thousands singing my words back to me and a plaque on my wall. Over 14 years later, that dream has come true. This song has allowed me to connect with millions of strangers, and has become a constant reminder of why I started writing songs. I am feeling eternally grateful, humbled, and so excited to put even more therapy sessions out for the world, so we can heal together.”

Kylie’s bold breakup track “If He Wanted To He Would” is featured on her debut album, Making It Up As I Go, released in October. She recently followed up the project with a new single, her upbeat confession “Two Night Stands.”

After kicking off her headlining Making It Up As I Go Tour earlier this month, Kylie will next take the stage for back-to-back shows in Fort Myers (3/21) and Fort Walton Beach, FL (3/22). Her dynamic set features both new music and fan-favorite tracks. See photos from opening weekend of the Making It Up As I Go Tour here. Kylie Morgan (If He Wanted To He Would) OC: …rock that. 1:02
“’If He Wanted To He Would’ is a very, very special song to me for many reasons. But I really believe that in today’s world, dating is so different than it used to be first of all, and I just miss the remember when you had to walk up to someone and actually start a conversation rather than like being able to swipe left and right, and I just feel like everyone in the dating world, especially in 2022 now is just doing the bare minimum. Do you remember when you had to buy a girl flowers to even go on the first date? Remember that was a thing? I feel like everyone is treating dating and loving in general as such a convenience rather than an effort, and I feel like ‘If He Wanted To He Would’ is that reminder for, especially girls, set your standards high and don’t lower them just because it’s convenient for someone else. Know what you’re worth and continue to just love yourself through that and rock that.”

TYLER HUBBARD IS FLYING SOLO IN AUSTRALIA.

Tyler Hubbard is currently in Australia doing press about his upcoming album, Strong, before he headlines the CMC Rocks QLD 2024 on Saturday (March 16th) at the Willowbank Raceway. He likes to take his wife and three children when he makes these treks overseas, but sometimes it’s just not feasible.

“It’s Spring Break for the kids and they’re gonna go see Hayley’s parents and all that,” says Tyler. “That trip is so busy just between the promo and the shows and stuff, that it would be a lot for the kiddos. But any time I can bring them out with me, it just makes it that much more sweet and doesn’t feel like I’m missing out as much. So, selfishly I want them to be there, but it doesn’t always make sense.”

Tyler is making his way to the Top 10 on the country charts with his latest single, “Back Then Right Now.”

PARKER McCOLLUM CALLED IT!

Parker McCollum may have had a little premotion about possibly becoming a father sooner rather than later. Last year when he released his latest album, Never Enough, he talked about how he and his wife Hallie Ray were thinking about expanding their family.

“It’s knocking on my door real loud,” says Parker. “And sometimes I think about it, and at some points during the day it will cross my mind that that’s close and it’s going to be – I like look in the back seat and I’m like there’s going to be a damn car seat back there before – if you’re not careful.  And I’ll think about it, and I’ll be like man, that’s – hell yeah. I have a great dad. Great grandparents.  Great uncles. Like I look forward to – I have nieces and nephews now – I look forward to that of my own for sure.  We wouldn’t be surprised if that happened soon.”

The couple announced that they were expecting their first child — a boy — early last month.

Parker is currently climbing into the Top 5 on the country charts with his latest single, “Burn It Down.”

Audio / BROTHERS OSBORNE TALK ABOUT THEIR DREAMS OF PLAYING CMA MUSIC FEST.

Brothers Osborne (CMA Music Fest-Nissan Stadium) OC: …their shoes. :40
TJ: “When we first came to Nashville, we had dreams of playing, like ‘Oh my God, are we ever gonna play there?’ And it never even crosses your mind – you’re not playing the stadium. It’s just not happening. And now to circle around and to be playing here, it’s wild. The feeling of it is not lost on us, even the slightest. It’s hard to really, honestly put it into words. It’s literally every kid’s dream, even if you don’t become a musician, you still dream about being on that stage. And we used to come, when we would come, it was Fan Fair, and we would see artists performing on these stages and be like, ‘Gah, we’d just give anything to be in their shoes.”

Keith Urban(CMA Music Fest) OC: …love it. :25
“I love it! It’s like summer camp. I mean, it is! It’s a chance to obviously see a lot of people I don’t normally see. I don’t know. It’s just palpable. Since Fan Fair, it’s just been that sort of week-plus of energy; the town just explodes, and what it is we love about this genre and the community aspect of it. I always love it.”

Luke Bryan (CMA Music Fest) OC: …for this week. :33
“It’s a great week. I truly love this week for hundreds of reasons. I always remember my first ones and starting out and doing River Stages and always dreaming of coming over here and performing at LP Field (now Nissan Stadium) and all of the stuff building the fan base early in the week. It’s an amazing week for Nashville, and it’s a great week for me. And then I get to be home and do all this stuff. It’s always been a fun week for me. A lot of my family always comes in for this week.”

Audio / JORDAN DAVIS SAYS HE’S GRATEFUL TO BE A PART OF CMA FEST (WHAT HE CALLS THE BEST MUSIC FESTIVAL AROUND).

Jordan Davis (CMA Fest) OC: …this one. :56
“The role reversal of who’s traveling. Now everybody gets to come to, not just my hometown, but all the artists. We’re all pretty much based in Nashville now, and it really is the best week of the year – from fan club parties to where we can go to and either play new music or just get a chance to say thank you. The fans are why we get to do this, so any chance we get to get one-on-one time with them or take a photo, play a song, say thank you, not just me, but we all love it. And also, to be able to be home, you know Broadway has such a special place in country music, so to bring country music to that street for a week and then end it every night at the stadium with the biggest names in country music. It’s the best music festival out there, and I’m truly blessed that I get to be a part of it. So, I’m grateful for it and looking forward to this one.”

Audio / Darius Rucker talks about the video for "Fires Don't Start Themselves," in which he plays a detective hot on the trail of a young couple whose passionate love is setting their town ablaze, both literally and figuratively.

Darius Rucker (Fires Don’t Start Themselves video) OC: …happy about that. :46
“I love acting. I love… It’s a lot of fun. And the actors you get to act with are so giving and make it so easy for you and fun and everything. But that video, when they told me I wasn’t going to do any performance, I was so happy, because that’s so the cliché (for) the video. You have other people acting and then you do the performance. But when they told me I was going to play a detective, I put on my inner Stabler, because I’m such a Law and Order and CSI fan, so I put on my inner Stabler and went out and did it. And the girl I worked with, she was so fun; she was so funny. And you know that donut scene, when I see it, there’s no words and it still makes me laugh every time I see it. But yeah, that was a lot of fun and I’d love to do a lot more of that, but, you know, we’ll see if it comes. If it comes, I’ll take it. If not, I’ll keep doing this music thing. I’ll be happy about that.”

Audio / REBA MCENTIRE TALKS ABOUT THE EMOTIONAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR "SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN."

Download

Reba McEntire (music video for Seven Minutes In Heaven) OC: …it still hurts. 1:08
“I picked out the lady to play mama, Eleanor. She did a great job. And she was a sweetheart to get to work with. That is exactly what I thought it would look like if I went to heaven and it was, you know, with the smoke coming in and out, made it look really heavenly. And I thought it would be something familiar, something that you’d feel comfortable with. God thinks of everything. And so, to walk up to the booth, and the next time I walk up and mama’s there and I put my arms on her shoulders, Eleanor’s hands were very similar to mama’s when she was young. So that got me to, they kept saying, ‘Okay, let’s do it again. I said, ‘Okay, let’s take a little break here. Get in here to redo my makeup. Because I would, I just bawled. And Eleanor was sitting across from me at the booth, and she’d see me crying. She’d try to reach for a napkin out of the napkin dispenser on the table. And I’d say, ‘Eleanor, that’s okay. It’s part of the video.’ ‘You don’t want to wipe?’ I said, ‘I’m good. I’m good.’ But she was just like a mother, you know, and they’re trying to make sure everything was all right. It was healing. It was healing for me to do that video and kind of like get it out because it still hurts.”

Audio / JORDAN DAVIS TALKS ABOUT WRITING HIS TWO-WEEK NO. 1 SMASH, "NEXT THING YOU KNOW."

Download

Jordan Davis (writing Next Thing You Know) OC: …song is today. :59
“There’s a saying that says ‘raising kids – the days are long, the years are short,’ and that’s what this song is to me. I kind of came in wanting to write something like that, you know kind of a slow down time song, and Greylan had this idea. The idea initially was about going to a bar or going somewhere and meeting somebody and then just the progression of a relationship. I kind of hijacked the title and said, ‘Hey man. I love that title, but we’re going to write it in the sense of having kids, watching ‘em grow up and hopefully becoming a grandparent, you know? Chase McGill and Josh Osborne both have kiddos, and I think they kind of grabbed on it. Greylan, hats off to him. He’s the single kid of the group, so he was like, ‘Man, I’ll go there. I don’t know how much input I can be able to say in this, but I’ll go there with you.’ I mean, he’s a great writer, and it was fun to kind of see the title that he threw out evolve into what the song is today.”

Audio / ON THE SET OF THE FILMING OF HER NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR "RAIN IN THE REARVIEW," ANNE WILSON EXPLAINS THE CONCEPT BEHIND IT.

Download

Anne Wilson (BTS RITR video) 2 OC: …in this video. :37
“So, I love this music video so much. We were working through the idea and concept behind it. It was really about portraying three different versions of myself – the happy version, which is the healed version; the driver, which is kind of plowing through everything and then the one that is sad and kind of looking on the past and reflecting what has come before. And I love the reminder in this music video and getting to work with T.K. McKamy on this treatment of how can we take this song and dive deeper into what it means? And I think in life we all go through different seasons where we’re either fully healed, we’re still looking back and struggling with depression and anxiety from the past or we’re driving in the seat and we’re going ahead for what’s to come. So, I love that we got to portray all three of those in this video.”

In a video posted to both of their socials (see below), Lainey gets some advice from Keith about being Down Under, since he’s obviously from there. When they arrive, Keith unloads her luggage and she says, “I’m so excited to be going to your home,” and Keith says, “Honestly? I wish I could go home with you,” which he then quips could be a good title for a song.

Josh Ross (story behind Single Again) OC: …the idea. :18
“The honest story behind ‘Single Again’ was the title actually came from a night out. I was at a bar probably about four years ago, and I had saw a girl that I always had a crush on growing up, and I went to approach her and give her a drink and I found out she had a boyfriend, but I politely still said hello and then I gave her the drink, and I said, ‘Let me know if you’re ever single again.’ And that’s how we got the idea.”
