Dierks Bentley has a song in the upcoming film, Only the Brave. The movie is based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots – a group of elite firefighters, otherwise known as the Seal Team 6 of firefighters, who battle out of control wildfires. The feature film focuses mainly on the men who fought and subsequently lost to the tragic Yarnell Hill wildfire, which burned a wide swath through Arizona in 2013, killing 19 firefighters.

Dierks shared the movie trailer, stating he was “so honored to have a song in this film. it sheds light on the lifestyle of wilderness fire fighters and honors these men and their families.”

Only the Brave, starring Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Taylor Kitsch, Jeff Bridges and Jennifer Connelly, hits theaters nationwide October 20th.

The Arizona native is currently making his way up the country charts with “What the Hell Did I Say.”

NEWCOMER BRANDON LAY RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE.

New EMI Nashville recording artist Brandon Lay just released his debut single, “Speakers, Bleachers and Preachers,” and the song is based on how he grew up in West Tennessee.

“Growing up in Jackson, Tennessee, my life revolved around playing sports and going to church,” says Brandon. “Country music was always coming through the speakers, and my mom had great taste in music. She was a school teacher, and I grew up a preacher’s kid. My dad was in the ministry. We were in church or school every time the doors were open and when we weren’t doing that, life kind of revolved around sports – football, baseball, basketball.”

Brandon debuted 2-pack of songs called SPEAKERS was released to streaming platforms on July 7th. The 2-pack includes the lead single “Speakers, Bleachers, and Preachers” and “Let It.” Only two weeks after the release, “Speakers, Bleachers, and Speakers” became one of the most viral tracks in the U-S, appearing on Spotify’s United States Viral 50 playlist. The song continues to climb the viral charts as Brandon tours across the US.

“Growing up in Jackson, Tennessee, my life revolved around playing sports and going to church. Country music was always coming through the speakers, and my mom had great taste in music. She was a school teacher, and I grew up a preacher’s kid. My dad was in the ministry. We were in church or school every time the doors were open and when we weren’t doing that, life kind of revolved around sports – football, baseball, basketball. One piece of advice that stuck with me that my dad gave to me was to write your own book, and when I moved to Nashville, I think it could’ve been very tempting to follow a trend or follow a crowd and just try to be like other guys. That’s something that’s always stuck with me and I’m grateful for, because I think being the best you is pretty good advice, no matter what field you’re in.”

KEITH URBAN IS BACK IN THE STUDIO WORKING ON NEW MUSIC.

Keith Urban shared some news with his fans on Wednesday (July 19th). He posted a photo of a soundboard and tagged it “Back in the Studio.” He’s started work on the follow-up to his current album, Ripcord, which was released in 2016 and possibly includes a few new strategies of creating music.

Keith, who is currently making his way up to the top of the country charts with his latest single “The Fighter” featuring Carrie Underwood, says making an album for him is a relatively organic process. “[I like to] get in the studio and I want to feel just really enraptured with a song to get in there and figure it out with the band and watch it sort of blossom.” He adds, “After we’ve recorded them all, it seems apparent which ones should make it to the record, which ones should be bonus tracks and figuring out the sequencing.”

Keith will hit the stage in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan Thursday (July 19th) and Twin Lakes, Wisconsin on Friday.

“It always seems to be a fairly organic process; get in the studio and I want to feel just really enraptured with a song to get in there and figure it out with the band and watch it sort of blossom. They don’t always do that and it’s usually very, very quickly that I can tell it’s just not working. But having said that, I don’t always know. That’s why the song has a way of becoming and being a part of it, and after we’ve recorded them all, it seems apparent which ones should make it to the record, which ones should be bonus tracks and figuring out the sequencing.”

BROTHERS OSBORNE HIT THE BEACH TO RECORD THEIR NEXT ALBUM.

Brothers Osborne have been catching some rays as they’ve been working in the studio on the follow-up to their debut album, Pawn Shop.

“So, we went down to Florida, just to get out of Nashville and kinda clear our heads a little bit, with Jay Joyce our producer, and we shacked up in a beach house. You know, we intended on maybe leaving with anywhere between six to eight songs, and we ended up recording 11 songs,” says John Osborne. “I can’t come out and say that we’ve finished our record, but we got pretty damn close if we didn’t finish.”

John goes on to say that he really likes the new music and can’t wait for the fans to hear it. “I feel very, very, very good about this record that we did. And I know everyone says that about their new music and that’s cliché or whatever. I actually really like our record! And man, I can’t wait to play it for everybody.”

Brothers Osborne are sitting inside the Top 15 on the country charts with their latest hit, “It Ain’t My Fault.” The guys hit the fair circuit this weekend with shows in Hartington, Nebraska on Saturday (July 22nd) and Minot, North Dakota on Sunday.

KIP MOORE THRILLS SOLD-OUT CROWD IN CHICAGO.

Kip sold out

Kip Moore upheld his reputation as “one of country music’s most impressive headline acts” (Sounds Like Nashville) this past weekend, hosting the first sold-out Saturday night (7/15) crowd at Windy City Smokeout in Chicago, IL. Moore, who closed out the evening with an unforgettable set, is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming third studio album SLOWHEART, available Sept. 8th, warming up as he plays to “venues packed with diehard fans from Atlantic City to Australia who hang on every note and word” (Rolling Stone).

Co-written by Moore, his current single moving up the Top 15 and the lead track from his upcoming release “More Girls Like You,” is the fastest rising single of his career so far and is receiving praise from critics such as Entertainment Weekly declaring he “has made a name for himself weaving vignettes of Southern, blue-collar life and love into rollicking country anthems.” As he “consistently serves up clever roots-rock riffs and rhythms that separate Moore from the rock-meets-rap focus of his Nashville peers” (Associated Press), the release of “More Girls Like You” follows the acclaim that surrounded his sophomore album WILD ONES heralded as “an impressively singular release from Music Row” by The Guardian. Moore first turned heads with his debut album UP ALL NIGHT which was certified GOLD by the RIAA and spawned three No. One hit singles including GOLD certified “Beer Money,” PLATINUM certified “Hey Pretty Girl,” and the DOUBLE PLATINUM breakout hit “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck.”

Following an extended break, Moore is back out on the road across the U.S and Canada this summer, as well as headlining dates in U.K this fall stopping in Birmingham, UK (10/2), Manchester, UK (10/3), Glasgow, UK (10/4) and culminating in a special show as part of Country Music Week in London, UK at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 10/6. Moore will also return to Ireland later this summer for Harvest 2017, stopping in Westport, IE (8/26) and Enniskillen, IE (8/27.) Jon Pardi loves being on the road with Dierks Bentley on the What the Hell Tour, which also features pal Cole Swindell, because the vibe on the road is like family. Speaking of family, the tall troubadour has also made quite an impression on Dierks’ daughters, Evie and Jordan.

“I love Dierks Bentley, being on tour with Dierks Bentley. He’s awesome. His girls are always excited to see me. His little girls are always like, ‘Hey, Jooooonnnn!’ They’re always excited to see me, which is super cute. They tried roping again. I brought the dummy out there for them, and it was a lot of fun,” says Jon. “Dierks does a great job of keeping everybody like they’re family, even from his crew, his truck drivers to the catering people to the opening acts, so he does a really good job, and I’ve always admired that about him. And having Cole Swindell out there with us, it’s just a bunch of friends on the road living the dream.”
