DIERKS BENTLEY IS ‘HOME’ AT NO. 1 IN CANADA.
Nashville, TN – Feb. 27, 2012 – Award-winning singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley’s anthemic title track and current single “Home” is resonating with fans across the border as it climbs into the No. one spot on Canada’s Mediabase Country Chart this week. Though inspired by domestic struggles, the track’s relatable global message of strife, strength and optimism is unifying fans everywhere.
“Dierks may have had America in mind with ‘Home,’ but the fact it went to No. one in Canada shows that the song has universal appeal,” said EMI Music Canada’s Ron Harwood. “We are all proud of where we are from. We’ve all faced tough times recently. We all know that things can be better again. It is a song that reflects on our own past and gives hope for a bright future, regardless of where you call ‘home.’”
“The gorgeous title track tastefully expounds on American patriotism…without resorting to blatant flag waving. Bentley once again affirms he is not your run of the mill country act.” – Winnipeg Free Press
“Home” continues to strike a chord with fans in the U.S. as it also climbs through the Top five at country radio this week. Last week, Bentley wrapped the Canadian leg of his 2012 Country & Cold Cans Tour, which will next visit fans in Australia early next month before its 20-city U.S. spring run. AJ (fans) OC: …it works. :30
“You just can’t say enough about country music fans — at least mine, anyway. I’ve had fans that have to have a walker to get to the show…and some that have to have their mama carry ‘em there! I’ve got this wide range of fans. There’ll be doctors and farmers, you know? It’s just amazing how diverse the people are when I’m out there singing. One minute I feel like I’m supposed to be singing a gospel song for this lady and a drinking song for this man, and I just can’t…it’s kinda confusing! But…it works.”

Dierks (fans on the road) OC: …it’s sincere. :20
“My biggest thing out there on the road is to make it real and not just have it be going through the motions or faking anything…I’m spending my whole day out on the road in some town, and these fans are spending their whole day to come out there and their money to come out to the show. So, I just want that experience to be as real as possible. So, when I get a chance to talk to ‘em in person, it’s just an honest discussion and it’s real and it’s sincere.”

Keith Urban is in awe of the real-life Navy SEALS who are featured and portrayed in the film, Act of Valor, which opens nationwide on Friday (February 24th). Keith, who wrote and recorded “For You” for the movieâs soundtrack, feels people who see it will have a whole new respect for the SEALS. âI think this film, particularly, when people see it will have a new insight as to what they do,â he says. âThe diversity, separate to their sacrifices and their honor â separate to that â their actual physical human skills are just extraordinary.
- Act of Valor is inspired by real life events and stars a group of active-duty Navy SEALs in a powerful story of contemporary global anti-terrorism.

Keith Urban (Navy Seals-AOV) OC: …extraordinary. :36
“For me, and I said this to some of the SEAL guys too, you know, because they were saying thank you so much for the song and being involved in the film. I’d like to say it’s just mine and my family’s tiny little way of saying thank you for what they do. It’s really extraordinary what they do, and I think this film, particularly, when people see it will have a new insight as to what they do. The diversity, separate to their sacrifices and their honor — separate to that — their actual physical human skills are just extraordinary.

ViewLADY ANTEBELLUM OWNS NO. 1 AGAIN! (AUDIO)
Lady Antebellum‘s Own the Night returns to the top of the Billboard Country Album chart this week. The collection sold nearly 37,000 copies to retake the top spot on the country chart and climb to No. 7 overall. The band has already scored two No. 1 songs — “Just a Kiss” and “We Owned the Night” — from the album, and their latest hit, “Dancin’ Away With My Heart,” is inside the Top 10 on the country singles charts.
AUDIO: Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley singles out “Dancin’ Away With My Heart” as one of his favorite songs on Own The Night.
Lady A (Dancin’ Away With My Heart-Charles) OC: …that person. :40
CK: “That’s probably one of my favorites on the record, for sure. I think that was one too we knew…A lot of times you write songs and you can’t really tell until after a year or so writing which ones you’ll end up narrowing down for a record. But we knew after we wrote that, we were like, ‘This is going to be on the record.’ This is … I hope that’s a single. It’s definitely one of my favorites off the record. We wrote that with Josh Kear, who we wrote ‘Need You Now’ with and my favorite lyric of that is, ‘For me, you’ll always be 18 and beautiful.’ It’s like thinking about back at different people that have had an impression on my life and stuff and relationships and that first dance or whatever it may be, and you wonder what they’re doing. You picture them in your head as that person. So, for you, they’ll always look like that in your head, and they’ll be that person.”
KEITH URBAN ENJOYS BLIND AUDITION PROCESS OF ‘THE VOICE.’ (AUDIO)
Keith Urban is currently in Australia working as one of four vocal coaches on the nation’s version of America’s hit show, The Voice. When he was initially approached to take part in the show, he turned it down because of the time commitment. But he was able to work with the show’s producers to work it in his schedule. He, along with Seal, Joel Madden and Delta Goodrem, will by vying for his own team of singers he will mentor. He said the first thing that attracted him to the show were the blind auditions. “We live in such a visual age, you know, but we don’t buy videos, we buy records,” says Keith. “So what does it matter what an artist looks like? How about how they sound? How does their voice affect me? And how does that song affect me? I love that this show is the first one that I’ve ever seen that basically go on just the sound of the voice first, and then we run with other things after that.”
Even though he is Down Under, he made an “appearance” during the annual Country Radio Seminar’s Country DJ Hall of Fame. He videotaped a performance of Glen Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman” honoring the legendary performer, who received the CRB Career Achievement Award.
Keith is currently enjoying his latest No. 1 hit, “You Gonna Fly,” from his Get Closer album.
Keith Urban (The Voice) 1 OC: … cool thing. :32
“I think the first and foremost thing I loved about it was the blind auditions. We live in such a visual age, you know, but we don’t buy videos, we buy records. So what does it matter what an artist looks like? How about how they sound? How does their voice affect me? And how does that song affect me? I love that this show is the first one that I’ve ever seen that basically go on just the sound of the voice first, and then we run with other things after that. That really struck me as a cool thing.”
