Before natural disasters struck the Caribbean, current two-time CMA nominated group Lady Antebellum traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico for its colorful Spanish colonial buildings and vibrant culture to provide the backdrop of the music video for their new single “Heart Break.” Now, feeling the urgency more every day to continue to raise awareness and support for those affected after Hurricane Maria stuck the area, Lady A is premiering the new video across all video platforms today while making a donation of $200,000 from LadyAID to hurricane relief efforts via MusiCares® and United for Puerto Rico. Fans can also take part in the ongoing relief efforts by contributing at LadyAID.org.

“We got to meet so many locals and enjoy just everything that Puerto Rico has to offer and so to see all the devastation we are just completely heart broken,” said Hillary Scott. “We want to do everything we can to support this incredible place and these incredible people. We just hope and pray for their safety and that rebuilding happens quickly. We encourage everyone to give whatever they can to help.”

“We have always loved traveling to the Caribbean, and Puerto Rico was one of those places we’ve always wanted to go and couldn’t have been a better location for this video,” added Charles Kelley. “I think one of the coolest things was all of the dancing extras were just people off the street that our director found. They already just exuded that vibrant energy that’s such a part of the people and culture in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean as a whole.”

“We save a portion of every ticket out there on the road to go towards LadyAID,” noted Dave Haywood. “After spending time in San Juan, Puerto Rico, we fell in love with the area, the culture, the people, and that country – it was just a beautiful beautiful place. Our hearts have been completely broken watching the devastation from all of these hurricanes. So, for us a band, we’re now personally connected to helping support those affected by the hurricanes.”

Directed by Shane Drake and shot earlier this year, the video for the title track to Lady A’s CMA “Album of the Year” nominated and No. One selling album HEART BREAK (Capitol Records Nashville) follows a woman’s journey through the town while enjoying the spontaneity and freedom of independence, with an unexpected twist at the end.

Lady Antebellum’s recent CMA “Album of the Year” and “Vocal Group of the Year” nominations follow more than 18 million album units sold, nine No. One hits, ACM and CMA “Vocal Group of the Year” trophies three years in a row and countless other honors including seven GRAMMYs, Billboard Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards and Teen Choice Awards. Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone’s “must-see summer tour” will continue on overseas in October as they take their YOU LOOK GOOD WORLD TOUR to Europe. “Getting to shoot our video for ‘Heart Break’ was an incredible experience. We were in this beautiful, really vibey hotel, and we were also in this incredible bar in Old San Juan. We got to meet so many locals and enjoy just everything that Puerto Rico has to offer. And so to see all of the devastation, we are just completely heartbroken, and we want to do everything we can to support this incredible place, these incredible people. So, we just hope and pray for their safety and that rebuilding happens quickly and everyone gives whatever they can to help Puerto Rico and the whole Caribbean, and truthfully everywhere that’s been damaged by these hurricanes. Praying for safety, and Puerto Rico, we love you.”

“So, for every concert that we play out there on the road, we donate a portion of our ticket sales to our charity, Lady Aid. And this year, we spent some time down in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the old town area, and [we] fell in love with the culture, the people and that country; just a beautiful, beautiful place, and our hearts have been completely broken watching the devastation from these hurricanes. So, for us as a band, we decided to donate towards the MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund in an effort to do our part and support those affected by the Hurricanes.”

“We always have loved traveling to the Caribbean, and Puerto Rico’s was one of those places that we’ve always wanted to go. It seems like such a cool exotic place to live with such a real energy and vibe to it. It couldn’t be a better location, and I think one of the coolest things is all of the extras in the video danced and were just people off the street that our director and some people working with him just found and ran into them in the streets and said, ‘Hey, would you want to come in and dance around and be a part of this video?’ And I th9ink that’s just one of the coolest things that all these kids had such a style on their own. They didn’t need a stylist to come in and bring them clothes and teach them how to dance. They already just exuded that vibrant energy that’s such a part of the people and culture in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean as a whole. It was just a really fun video and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
