This will blow the top of your head right off! Chris Stapleton joined John Mayer onstage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night (August 8th) to perform a song they JUST wrote the day before. Check out a snippet of the song, “I Just Remembered That I Didn’t Care,” which had the two of them trading vocals and guitar riffs throughout the song. Following the debut performance of the new tune, Chris also helped John on his hit, “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.”
The pop star told the sold-out crowd of the surprise collaboration (before revealing who he was bringing out), “I said, ‘You wanna do one of my songs or one of your songs?’ And he said, ‘We could do either or we could just write a song and play it.’ I said, ‘Challenge accepted.'”
Mayer revealed that he came to town early to pen the new song with Stapleton the day before.

So uhhh @ChrisStapleton & @JohnMayer wrote a song yesterday then played it to a sold out arena tonight. It was kind of awesome and Nashville is still a pretty great place to live. 🤯 pic.twitter.com/2RsHUBI9ae
