Darius Rucker just released his new single, “If I Told You,” this morning (June 28th). The tune was written by Ross Copperman, Shane McAnally and Jon Nite, and the Charleston native said it sounds like he could’ve written the song.

“When I first heard it, I just thought, ‘Man, it sounds like I wrote this song. It’s so my life. It’s so who I am,’” says Darius. “I mean, when we cut it, I was blown away by it. Ross Copperman produced it and just did a great job. I love it! I hope people love it.”

“If I Told You” is the first release from Darius’ upcoming album, and he says it’s the perfect lead-off for what’s to come.

“I think ‘If I Told You’ is a huge representation of the new record. I mean, it’s something like I’ve never done before,” says Darius. “The song is, with the melody and the feel and everything, is what we’re trying to do – it came out like a cool little song that I’m so proud of and I’m glad it’s the first single, and I think it’s gonna set up the album awesome.”
