Luke Bryan’s “Strip It Down” is spending a second consecutive week at No. 1 on both the Billboard and Country Aircheck country charts. The song, which he co-wrote with Ross Copperman and Jon Nite, is the second chart-topping single from his latest album, Kill the Lights.
“Nothing is better than when you hear that song and you’re at a place in your artist career where you know the second you hear it, ‘Bam! That’s gonna be on there,’” says Luke. “There’s no way around me not recording that song and that’s a fun feeling.”
Luke is nominated for Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year at next week’s CMA Awards. The 49th Annual CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Wednesday, November 4th at 8pm ET on ABC.

“Nothing is better than when you hear that song and you’re at a place in your artist career where you know the second you hear it, ‘Bam! That’s gonna be on there.’ There’s no way around me not recording that song and that’s a fun feeling. But you just have to be thankful that you’re getting so many songs sent your way and try to pick what stirs your emotions and your heart and follow your heart and put ‘em on the album.”
