TUNE IN: CMA FEST 2023 TELEVISION SPECIAL AIRS WEDNESDAY ON ABC.

Dierks Bentley, along with Elle King and Lainey Wilson, host this year’s CMA Fest primetime television special. The three-hour show, airing Wednesday (July 19th), features amazing performances by some of today’s biggest country stars, as well as extraordinary collaborations, including Dierks, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Jordan Davis, Vince Gill, Tyler Hubbard, Little Big Town, Reba McEntire, Jon Pardi, Darius Rucker and Keith Urban. Additional performances include Elle, Lainey, Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, HARDY, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Avril Lavigne, Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, Jason Aldean, Ashley McBryde, Leon Bridges and Tanya Tucker.

For Dierks, CMA Fest week was one of reflecting back over his career, but also a chance for him to be a fan. “For me, it’s a magical week of reflection and being a fan. I’m playing, but also just like total fan mode,” he says. “I’ve always said I’m a fan of country music first and foremost, and this weekend is a great place to be a fan. It’s just the best of the best.”

Of his two co-hosts, Dierks had the best time working alongside them. “I get to co-host this with two of the funniest people I know – Elle King and Lainey Wilson. I mean, yes, talented beyond all talent, both incredible stylists vocally that sound like nobody else, great songwriters. You can list all that stuff. Whatever. Who cares? They’re funny. They’re so fun to be around. They make you laugh the whole time, so it doesn’t even feel like work. It just feels like this is ridiculous that I get the chance to hang out with these girls.”

Check out CMA Fest, dubbed the Music Event of the Summer, on Wednesday (July 19th) at 8pm ET/7pm CT on ABC. The special will also be available the next day on Hulu.

Darius Rucker (CMA Music Fest) OC: …awesome. :48
“Music Fest is like nothing else. I say all the time that country music is the only genre that could have something like that. It’s truly amazing, when I come that weekend, people are everywhere and they want to be your best friend. It’s always cool and I love coming here. The thing that always gets me is the show. The fact that you can get that many superstars at one show all playing for free, for the same goal, to entertain those people that are in that stadium that come here for the whole week from all over the world. They come here for one week to see country music, and it’s amazing that those artists say on Friday and Saturday night, this is country music come on out. That’s awesome.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley, who is co-hosting CMA Fest TV special, says not only is he a performer, but attending as a fan, as well.

Dierks Bentley (CMA Fest 2023) OC: …best of the best. :48
“This is a great weekend for me, ‘cause I get to go from the Station Inn to the Stadium. I mean, I get to run my whole life in that little, you know, I started off going to watch a band play at the Station Inn back in 1994 with dreams of one day trying to make it as a country artist and nothing says country artist like playing the Stadium here in Nashville. So, it’s kind of a look back at my life in a short six-day period, and even the Hot Country Knights is like that’s to me Lower Broadway at its best…or worst. But, so it’s really, for me it’s a magical week of reflection and being a fan. I’m playing, but also just like total fan mode. I’ve always said I’m a fan of country music first and foremost, and this weekend is a great place to be a fan. It’s just the best of the best.”

Dierks Bentley (hosting CMA Fest 2023) OC: …of all time. 1:01
“Hosting the CMA Fest is the ultimate gig. It’s so fun. I mean, I’ve hosted some big awards show as well and those are great too, but this is a four-day festival, so I get to be there for four days. And which if I was doing it by myself, it would be great because you get a chance to see all your artist buddies you don’t see very often, hear great music, see the all-stars of the country music fans, people that travel from all over the world to be here and they bring the most energy. It’s the greatest fans to play in front of, BUT I get to co-host this with two of the funniest people I know – Elle King and Lainey Wilson. It just feels like this is ridiculous that I get the chance to hang out with these girls. So, yeah, we’re hosting the CMA Fest. Last year it was Elle and I; this year we’re bringing on Lainey Wilson. It’s gonna be…it’s fun. It’s going to be so much fun. I cannot wait. It’s gonna be the greatest CMA Fest of all time.”

Audio / Eric Church says CMA Fest is special and unique to country music.

Download

Eric Church (CMA Music Fest) OC: …barrage of  music. :32
“Well, I think it’s what makes country music unique. Find me another format that happens in, it’s just not something that happens. I think it’s because country music is the one format where the fans…the music is really about them. And we’re them; we’re not different than them. We’re not a lot of the rock stars and a lot of the other guys where they’re their own person, they’re their own agenda…they’re not like the people that are listening to them. It’s different in country, we are. We come from there, we are that. I think it’s just a great thing for them to be able to come to our town and to get just this barrage of music.”

Audio / KEITH URBAN TALKS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY SPIRIT SURROUNDING CMA FEST.

Download

Keith Urban (CMA Fest 2023) OC: …always need it, though. :29
“The good thing about CMA Fest is it’s historically always comes at a time when it feels like we need it the most. When we were here back in 2010 after the Nashville floods and doing a special performance, I think CMA Fest was really acknowledging what everybody had gone through and the floods, and so I think it’s such a community spirit out there, not just Nashville, but the country community coming together and celebrating life and the moment. We always need it, though.”

Audio / Luke Bryan talks about playing CMA Fest.

Download

Luke Bryan (CMA Music Fest) OC: …for this week. :33
“It’s a great week. I truly love this week for hundreds of reasons. I always remember my first ones and starting out and doing River Stages and always dreaming of coming over here and performing at LP Field (now Nissan Stadium) and all of the stuff building the fan base early in the week. It’s an amazing week for Nashville, and it’s a great week for me. And then I get to be home and do all this stuff. It’s always been a fun week for me. A lot of my family always comes in for this week.”

Audio / VINCE GILL TALKS ABOUT CMA FEST, FORMERLY KNOWN AS FAN FAIR.

Download

Vince Gill (CMA Fest 2023) OC: …grateful. 1:03
“This is a genre of music unlike anything that I’ve ever experienced. It’s a grateful artist base. It’s grateful for the people that give us the opportunity to do what we do, you know, whether it’s at the Fairgrounds or whether it’s a bigger place. I don’t know if it ever really mattered. All those people out there that buy a ticket to come and do this whether they stand in line to get somebody’s autograph or go to a show or whatever. They’re just here because they like what we do, you know? And it feels good to let them know they’re appreciated and not be standoffish and not be that way. So, I’ve always enjoyed it. This is about my 40th year of doing anything connected with whatever they call it. (laughs) I don’t even know anymore (laughs), but it’s still the same thing. It’s just a bunch of people that loves what everybody does and man, it’s great for everybody to hang and just sitting backstage running into so and so and running into so and so, you don’t get to see them very often. So, you know grateful.”

JOSH ROSS UNVEILS HIS LATEST TRACK “AIN’T DOIN’ JACK,” OUT NOW; MOST NOMINATED ARTIST AT THE CCMAS.

Today, country singer-songwriter and hitmaker Josh Ross shares his latest track “Ain’t Doin’ Jack,” available everywhere here.

Originally envisioned as an emotional ballad, Ross was inspired to transform “Ain’t Doin’ Jack” to an upbeat country-rock anthem once he was invited to join acclaimed rock band, Nickelback, on tour this summer. Appealing to fans of both genres, the Nashville-recorded song is tailor-made for his energetic live performance, and Ross kicks off the party with the track each night on the GET ROLLIN’ TOUR.

“’Ain’t Doin’ Jack’ was written with my good friends Mason Thornley, Ben Stoll, and Sam Martinez on a writing retreat in the Smoky Mountains,” shares Ross. Ben originally had the idea about Jack Daniel’s not doing the trick to get over a girl. When we first started writing the song, we thought of doing it as a sad ballad. But while we were on the writing trip, we got the news that I was going to be opening for Nickelback on their Get Rollin’ Tour, so we thought making it a country-rock song for our live set would be a cool idea. All of this happened before we knew it would even be released, so I’m excited to share it.”

The track follows previous releases from Ross including “Red Flags,” a pair of Top 5 Canadian country radio hits – “On A Different Night” and “First Taste of Gone” – and his debut US single, “Trouble,” that hit country radio this summer. Since its release, “Trouble” has surpassed 40 million streams globally and is climbing charts in Canada, US, and Australia.

Ross was recently announced to support Bailey Zimmerman on RELIGIOUSLY. THE TOUR. in 2024, after previously joining Zimmerman on a run of shows earlier this year. Ross continues to gain new fans while on Nickelback’s GET ROLLIN’ TOUR with Brantley Gilbert, taking the stage in Inglewood, CA (7/14) and Las Vegas, NV (7/15) this weekend. For tickets and a full list of tour dates and to sign up for Josh Ross’ mailing list, please visit JoshRossMusic.com.

Later this summer, Ross makes his Grand Ole Opry debut on July 26th in Nashville.

***Breaking through in Music City, he is an established hitmaker in Canada, standing as the most-nominated artist at the upcoming 2023 CCMAs with six nods – including Male Artist of the Year and Fan’s Choice – where he is also set to perform.

GRAMMY AWARD WINNING DUO BROTHERS OSBORNE ANNOUNCE SELF-TITLED FOURTH STUDIO ALBUM, BROTHERS OSBORNE, OUT SEPTEMBER 15 SHARE NEW SONG “SUN AIN’T EVEN GONE DOWN YET” TODAY.

Today, GRAMMY-winning duo Brothers Osborne announce the upcoming release of Brothers Osborne, their self-titled fourth studio album, available September 15th via EMI Records Nashville. Brothers Osborne is available for pre-order in all formats here, as the duo share an additional track, “Sun Ain’t Even Gone Down Yet,” available now.

TJ Osborne shares, “we’ve always had a lot of mystery intentionally around the things we have done, but with this album, we decided to be all in. And doing that reminded me of what it was like when I first started playing music, when it was an outlet for my angst or just a way to have fun.”

John adds “since our last record, we’ve been very forthcoming with who we are. By acknowledging TJ’s personal life and my mental-health struggles, we are more ourselves creatively and publicly than we’ve ever been.”

For their self-titled release, the brothers enlisted Mike Elizondo (Sheryl Crow, Turnstile, Dr. Dre, Twenty One Pilots, Lin-Manual Miranda) to produce, entrusting him with curating his own band of studio musicians, including Paul McCartney’s drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. behind the kit. Miranda Lambert provides the LP’s sole guest vocals on “We Ain’t Good at Breaking Up,” after co-writing the song with Brothers Osborne and Jesse Frasure.

The brothers co-wrote every song on the album, including their chart-climbing current single “Nobody’s Nobody,” penned with Elizondo and Kendell Marvel, capturing a message of inclusion and acceptance.

Brothers Osborne will celebrate the release with four newly announced tour dates in October, performing in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Nashville. The duo shares, “these four shows will be very special and all will be different, showcasing music from our new album, and of course some of your old favorites.” Tickets for New York and Los Angeles are on sale now here, and tickets for Washington D.C. and Nashville will be available to The Family, the Brothers Osborne fan club, as an exclusive presale on Tuesday, July 18 at 10am local time here. General on-sale will begin on Friday, July 21 at 10am here. Members of The Family Fan Club can unlock exclusive pre-sale access by logging into the official website at www.brothersosborne.com. Fans who are not yet part of the fan club but are interested in gaining access to these benefits are encouraged to join the Family Fan Club.

Brothers Osborne are one of music’s most consistently adventurous bands, a duo connected by not just blood, but also a lifetime of performing together, and a shared working-class upbringing in Deale, Maryland. The reigning CMA and ACM Duo of the Year winners are leaders of a progressive and still classic school of country music, and the faces of the new generation of Nashville. Anchored by TJ’s baritone and John’s guitar, every one of the album’s 11 tracks are distinctly Brothers Osborne songs – the album is also their most musically diverse yet, along with a new producer’s direction, it features synthesizers, and a piano ballad.

“We are always pushing ourselves, always evolving and not afraid to change,” John says. “But at the end of the day, we are also who we are.”

“This is a defining record at this point in our career, where we needed to put it all on our shoulders,” TJ says. “And we did. Like it was when we were growing up, it’s just John and me.”

Brothers Osborne Track Listing:

  1. “Who Says You Can’t Have Everything” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Casey Beathard)

JON PARDI CELEBRATES TWO OF HIS MOST RECENT NO. 1 SONGS.

Jon Pardi celebrated not one, but two, of his recent chart-toppers at a party in his honor this week at local Nashville watering hole, Winners Bar & Grill. “Heartache Medication,” which was written by Jon, Natalie Hemby and Barry Dean, went to No. 1 in February of 2020, so he wasn’t really able to celebrate its success until three years later following the global pandemic. He also helped “Last Night Lonely” songwriters – Dylan Marlowe, Jimi Bell and Joe Fox – celebrate their very first No. 1 (which just so happened to be their first single they’d written, as well).

“’Heartache Medication’ is literally like probably one of our biggest songs we play live. The crowd just like, once they hear the fiddle go off, you kick it off and then the crowd goes wild. It’s really cool,” he told media prior to the party. “‘Last Night Lonely’ is a big one too. ‘Heartache Medication’ is getting over someone, moving on, having a good time and getting out and doing the things you’ve got to do to move on. ‘Last Night Lonely’ is almost like a continuation of ‘Heartache Medication.’ He’s moved on and found a girl he wants to settle down with. But for me, a good song, whether I write it or not, has to move people. It’s got to make people tap their feet and it’s got to be powerful, and you’ve got to be remembered, and I feel like a lot of these songs will be remembered for a long time.”

Jon should soon be celebrating another No. 1 song. His latest smash, “Your Heart Or Mine,” which was written by his producer Bart Butler, along with Justin Ebach and John Pierce, is making its way to the top of the country charts.

Audio / Jon Pardi talks about the two songs -- "Heartache Medication" and "Last Night Lonely" -- that he celebrated this week.

ERIC CHURCH CELEBRATES THE OPENING OF HIS NEW EXHIBIT AT THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME.

Eric Church , along with close friends and family, celebrated the opening of his new exhibit, Eric Church: Country Heart, Restless Soul, during an invite-only reception on Wednesday night (July 13th). The new display explores North Carolina native’s unique path to stardom, from his early years playing late-night gigs in bars and writing songs in Nashville to his bigger-than-life stage presence and career.

“I have such respect, immense respect for this place, for this room that we’re in,” says Eric, says of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. “For what’s been built here, not just in country music, but in all of music history. It is very special and very unprecedented. I am honored to be here.”

The collection includes stage costumes, tour memorabilia, handwritten lyrics to such songs as “Smoke A Little Smoke” and “Monsters,” guitars, awards, handwritten notes from George Strait and Bruce Springsteen, as well as a gold record plaque from Taylor Swift with a note thanking him for playing too long after he was kicked off the Rascal Flatts tour in 2006.

“The best part for me, both of my kids you know from two and three months old, they grew up on the tour bus. And when you’re in the tornado and you’re going through it, you forget all these things that happened. And to beside my boys tonight as we walk through and went through those tidbits, but when they were one or two or three, they don’t remember that, that was my favorite part of this entire exhibit — experiencing it again with them,” he says. “This is an unbelievable honor for me. The people that I love and respect are here and have been very incremental to me being here. I will say that there is something to doing it your own way, and you can still get to where you want to go if you do it that way.”

“I have such respect, immense respect for this place, for this room that we’re in. For what’s been built here, not just in country music, but in all of music history. It is very special and very unprecedented. I am honored to be here.”

Eric Church (CMHOF exhibit) 2 OC: …it that way. :
“The best part for me, both of my kids you know from two and three months old, they grew up on the tour bus. And when you’re in the tornado and you’re going through it, you forget all these things that happened. And to beside my boys tonight as we walk through and went through those tidbits, but when they were one or two or three, they don’t remember that, that was my favorite part of this entire exhibit — experiencing it again with them. This is an unbelievable honor for me. The people that I love and respect are here and have been very incremental to me being here. I will say that there is something to doing it your own way, and you can still get to where you want to go if you do it that way.”
