ERIC CHURCH CELEBRATES FAN’S 100TH SHOW IN STYLE.

Eric Church Fan Hits 100th Show Milestone

New music video for single, “Drink In My Hand,” debuts

Nashville, Tenn. (Tuesday, September 27, 2011) – Eric Church has always credited his loyal fan base with his rise to fame and recognition, such as this year’s fan-voted ACM New Solo Vocalist Award, so when it came time to film the music video for the audience-inspired hit, “Drink In My Hand,” from his chart-topping release, CHIEF, Church knew he could leave it in their hands.  The music video, filmed in Council Bluffs, Iowa on August 26 and 27, and directed by Peter Zavadil, showcases exactly what the fans have come to love from his live shows. One fan in particular, Aaron R. Shriver, knew he wouldn’t miss the special performances as they marked shows 98 and 99 for him with his 100th show milestone met on Sunday, Sept. 25 in Tinley Park, IL at First Midwest.

“I got to see Eric Church open the first night in Cincinnati, Ohio on the Bob Segar tour,” said Shriver.  “That night I took my father to his very first Eric Church show. He saw the fire and passion in Eric’s stage presence, and now he is just as big of a fan as I am. I also saw Eric play in a Wal-Mart parking lot with just eight people in the crowd six months after he just played a huge sold-out arena. I will never forget those days, nor will I forget the day I heard CHIEF went No. 1–it was like an accomplishment for the entire [Church] Choir that has stood behind the one musician that we all believe in so much.”

Church recognized Shriver at Sunday’s show by bringing him on stage and presenting him with his guitar, a Gibson Hummingbird.  [Footage of the presentation can be found HERE.]

“I am constantly blown away by the passion of our fans.  It was really cool to be able to honor Aaron’s 100th show on stage and share that experience with everyone in the crowd,” shares Church. “Though he is the first, I look forward to more of our fans reaching that milestone.  It is truly humbling.”

Church recently celebrated his own milestone with over 1,000 shows performed since he began touring in 2006.

The energy of the live show and the fans’ interaction was the inspiration for the single “Drink In My Hand” as well as the music video.  Church was inspired to write the song after commenting on the audience’s synchronized motion to certain phrases in his songs and noted, “All the fans want to do is put a drink in their hand.”  He later penned the tune with Michael Heeney and Luke Laird

DIERKS BENTLEY PREPARES TO GO “HOME”

AWARD WINNING SINGER/SONGWRITER DIERKS BENTLEY INTRODUCES “HOME” FROM

HIS UPCOMING SIXTH STUDIO ALBUM

Nashville, TN – Sept. 26, 2011 – Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley releases the anthemic “Home” off his upcoming sixth Capitol Nashville album to country radio today.  Bentley penned the poignant new track with Dan Wilson and Brett Beavers.

“One of the best parts of being a traveling musician is getting to meet people from all over the country and hear about what’s happening in their lives and their towns…the struggles and the joys,” says Bentley.  “They’re the inspiration for this song. The lyrics speak to the challenges we’ve had as a country, but hopefully the song leaves you feeling inspired and optimistic.”

ERIC CHURCH’S VIDEO FOR “DRINK IN MY HAND” DEBUTS ON VEVO

The video for Eric Church’s “Drink in My Hand” is finally out, and it debuted on VEVO Monday (September 26th). The inspiration behind the song – and now the video – came from seeing his fans holding up their “adult beverages” high in the air during his shows, night after night. So, the performer decided to grab some footage of his live show in Council Bluff, Iowa on the off-chance he could make a video for the song. “It’s really just showing our live show and showing some of the stuff that went on during those shows in Council Bluff, and really just trying to show what ‘Drink in My Hand’ looks like live,” Eric recently told TasteofCountry.com. “We got some shots of the crowd, and at one point I jumped off into the crowd a little bit … it was pretty damn crazy! It was something that was fun to get on camera.”

  • “Drink in My Hand” is the second single released from his latest chart-topping album, Chief.
  • Eric is nominated for New Artist of the Year at this year’s CMA Awards, taking place live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena November 9th and airing on ABC-TV.
  • Eric is currently touring with Toby Keith and will make a stop in Cincinnati on Thursday (September 29th).

Luke Bryan (tour production) OC: …money’s worth. :38

“Talking about production, it’s nice to finally kind of plan up how you’re gonna have your show look and lots of lights around you, and being able to creat moments with lights, and have somebody on stage go and stand where the lights are doing this and that, and it’s nice to plan it all up. I mean, we’ve always, being an opener, you just go out there and the lights get turned on. But now, we can finally use all of our resources, all the people that are working so hard and make the lighting look even more special and make it look like a big show. And in the end, that kind of helps the overall aspect of fans really getting their money’s worth.”

LADY ANTEBELLUM “OWNS” THE BILLBOARD 200 ALBUM CHART!!!

Lady Antebellum’s Own the Night has debuted at the top of the Billboard Top 200 with more than 347,000 copies sold, which is the biggest first week debut by a country artist this year. Own the Night also follows Lady A’s multi-platinum second album, Need You Now, which topped the Billboard 200 in February 2010. Lady A’s Dave Haywood, the album is a “call- to-action to tell people to get out there. ‘Let’s own this experience, own this evening, own what you’re going through, whatever it is in your life, own it and enjoy it,’ because life’s too short not to enjoy them.”

  • The trio is currently in Canada promoting Own the Night before returning to the States to make their debut appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 1st.
  • Next month, Lady A will travel to Europe for more appearances and fan events in the UK, France and Germany all before kicking off the first leg of their headlining Own the Night 2011 Tour beginning November 11th in Knoxville, Tennessee.

AUDIO: Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood describes Own The Night as a call-to-action.

Lady A (Own the Night) 092111 OC: …enjoy them. :50

“I mean, we wanted to have a call-to-action, so to speak. I think for us, this on a lot of different levels [that] Own the Night applies to us. One being that we want to own these experiences that we’re going through right now, and all the exciting things that we get the opportunity to do, and we want to enjoy them. We don’t want these just to pass on by and look back and wonder what happen. We want to live in each and every single moment and enjoy these. And as well, when fans come out to see us, which we hope that they do this fall, we want people to have that experience and hopefully have something that they can look back on, as well, that they enjoy. So, we want, it’s that call- to-action to tell people to get out there. ‘Let’s own this experience, own this evening, own what you’re going through, whatever it is in your life, own it and enjoy it,’ because life’s too short not to enjoy them.”

AUDIO: Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley explains why “We Owned the Night” is a perfect follow-up to their recent No. 1 single, “Just a Kiss.”

Lady A (We Owned the Night-different message) OC: …the live show. :44

“I think that’s one of the main reasons is the live feel to it, and it just had kind of an urgency to it and an excitement to it that we wanted to kind of represent this record. And ‘Just A Kiss’ is very Lady A, [while] ‘We Owned The Night’ is a little bit kind of more of a departure for us in a way, just the sound of it is very mandolin-heavy and it’s just got a lot of different organic elements, which is really exciting for us to kind of go down that road. But I think more than anything, the message of it, just owning the night, we thought it would just be a great, great thing to kind of just, you know…” HS: “Set the tone.” CK: “Set the tone for the record and the tour, and I’m loving the response so far. The fans are really gravitating towards it, and I think live, it’s just going to be a great cornerstone of the live show.”

KEITH URBAN WILL PERFORM ON THIS YEAR’S CMA AWARDS.

Keith Urban has been tapped to perform on this year’s CMA Awards. The “Long Hot Summer” singer, who is currently touring North America on his Get Closer 2011 World Tour, is nominated for both Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year. Keith was named Entertainer in 2005 and picked up three Male Vocalist awards (2004-2006). While he is extremely honored to be nominated, he looks forward to performing on awards shows. “I look forward to being able to perform on awards shows,” says Keith. “That is absolute moment that matters most to me is getting to play, because the other stuff is – I don’t know about the other stuff. I know about playing, and that’s the only thing I know about.”

  • The 45th Annual CMA Awards, which will also feature performances by Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift, will be broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena beginning at 8pm ET/PT November 9th on ABC.

AUDIO: Keith Urban, who is nominated for both CMA Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the Year awards, says he enjoys performing on awards shows.

Keith Urban (perf on awards shows) OC: …know about. :10

“I look forward to being able to perform on awards shows. That is absolute moment that matters most to me is getting to play, because the other stuff is – I don’t know about the other stuff. I know about playing, and that’s the only thing I know about.”

LADY ANTEBELLUM ENJOYS A SUCCESSFUL “NIGHT.”

Early predictions from industry trades have Lady Antebellum’s latest album, Own the Night, debuting atop the Billboard Top 200 well past the 300,000 mark. The official totals will be released later this week. Songs on the trio’s third album seem to have different themes to them, however, they enjoy a collective them together. “The theme that I’ve kind of seen throughout it is a lot of these songs are about very specific moments in time,” muses Lady A’s Hillary Scott. “It’s not just an overall emotion or an overall feeling that’s portrayed in a song. It’s just very specific to moments that throughout your life end up defining who you are.” The second release from the album – “We Owned the Night” – is currently vaulting up the country charts.

  • If you go to Lady A’s official website, you can find out more about downloading an acoustic version of their recent No. 1 hit, “Just a Kiss.”
  • Catch Lady Antebellum performing on CBS Sunday Morning next Sunday (September 25th).

AUDIO: Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott discusses how Own The Night documents specific moments in life that shape one’s humanity.

Lady A (theme of OTN) OC: …who you are. :47

“The theme that I’ve kind of seen throughout it is a lot of these songs are about very specific moments in time. It’s not just an overall emotion or an overall feeling that’s portrayed in a song. It’s, I mean, even down to a song on the record called, ‘As You Turn Away,’ it’s literally about a 30-second window of time, saying goodbye to someone that you had been in a relationship with and knowing that things will never be the same in that you’ll never see them again. That’s literally about a 30-second window of time and an experience that happened, and then we wrote a four-minute song about it…and ‘Own The Night,’ it’s about one night. ‘Dancing Away With My Heart,’ it’s about one night. It’s just very specific to moments that throughout your life end up defining who you are.”

AUDIO: Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley says writing songs for their new album, Own the Night, took them back to the past and made them reflect on the path that led them to where they are now.

Lady A (Nostalgic Songs) OC: …who you are. :42

“We tended to write a lot of nostalgic songs on this record, and so it kind of made us go back and look back at the road that’s gotten us here. I don’t think that was something we went into it consciously trying to do, but it just naturally kind of started coming out. And we’d start writing a song about, called it ‘Dancing Away With My Heart,’ and started kind of each sharing stories of our high school sweethearts, or prom, or whatever it may be. And it was fun to kind of go back and see that and know where you’ve been that all kind of led you to where you are and so … So, yeah. It was an interesting journey. I think it helps you appreciate what this life’s all about. And it is, it’s about all those experiences, good and bad, that make you who you are.”
