BRANDON LAY HITS THE TOP 40 WITH HIS LATEST, “YADA YADA YADA.”

Brandon Lay has hit the Top 40 on the country charts with his song, “Yada Yada Yada.” The tune, which he co-wrote with friends Mikey Reaves and Heather Morgan, actually started out as just “filler” material.

“I actually just used that as a filler lyric in my voice memos in my phone because the melody came first. Sometimes the lyrics come first and sometimes the melody comes first,” says Brandon. “But I had a co-write the following week Mikey Reaves and Heather Morgan who are two of my favorite people to write with in town, and I kinda threw that out there and played them the very rudimentary work tape, and we kinda just came up with an angle for that title so we ended up calling it ‘Yada Yada Yada.’ And you know it’s not really a song lyrically that’s supposed to shake the earth, but I think it does show a different side than the debut single and that’s why we went with it.”

EMI Records Nashville’s Brandon Lay was named as one of Vevo’s 2019 DSCVR Artists to Watch.

KIP MOORE WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE TIME OFF TO RECHARGE HIS BATTERIES.

For the past few years following the holidays, Kip Moore has taken time off to go surf and basically recharge his batteries. His job, like so many other folks who does what he does for a living, is pretty demanding both mentally and physically, and so he can be better and feel refreshed to do it all over again, he “disappears” for a bit and goes where the waves are calling to him.

“I’m definitely going to disappear again. It’s something that I’ll probably do for the rest of my career is disappear during the winter. I’ve got to get that surfing in and I’ve got to hit that recharge button,” says Kip. “As cliché as that sounds, it truly wipes you out all of your mind, body, spirit, everything. I wouldn’t trade it for the world and I love doing it, but it takes a toll in so many ways mentally on you. So, when I get to get out and surf, it definitely brings me back to center and gets me ready to go again.”

When Kip returns, he’ll hit the road on the 2019 leg of his Room to Breathe Acoustic Tour, which launches March 7th in Chicago. The Georgia native is sitting inside the Top 5 with his current hit, “Last Shot.”

KEITH URBAN CREATES SPECIAL MOMENTS FOR FANS DURING LIVE SHOWS.

Keith Urban loves to connect to people via song, concert or through regular conversation. That connectedness shows up especially when he’s performing on stage and special moments occur with his fans.

“I love people! I love people, and every single person’s got a story. We have so much more in common than different. We have fears and hopes and dreams and insecurities and egos and sicknesses and dysfunctional families. We have everything. We have so much more in common,” says Keith. “So, for me, I feel that. I feel it in my life way more than I’ve ever felt it and playing live shows is no different. [It’s] exactly the same.”

Keith is currently making his way up the country charts with his latest song, “Never Coming Down.”

The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year launches his tour Down Under January 23rd in Newcastle, Australia, followed by shows in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and wrapping in Melbourne with a two-night stand on February 5th and 6th. Julia Michaels will open all shows.

ERIC CHURCH RELEASES NEW SINGLE, “SOME OF IT.”

Eric Church has released his new song, “Some of It,” and it goes for adds at radio January 14th. The song, which Eric co-wrote with Jeff Hyde, Clint Daniels and Bobby Pinson, almost didn’t make his Desperate Man album.

“I was playing the album for a dear friend of ours, and my wife was with me…This person loved the album, but my wife said, ‘But let me play you what didn’t make it.’ The first thing she played was ‘Some of It.’ And I hadn’t listened to it in a while, and it was always a favorite song of mine. It’s why it was the first one we took in, and I listened to it that night and I’m like…I’m gonna regret if I don’t record this song,” says Eric.  “And it just fit in the dialogue, it fit into what the entire album’s talking about and, it really made the album. I loved the album before it was on there, but it might be my favorite album now that it’s on there.”

Eric is set to kick off his Double Down Tour January 18th and 19th in Omaha, Nebraska. Before he launches the trek, you can catch him performing during the Willie Nelson tribute concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena January 12th. The all-star concert event featuring Willie, Eric, George Strait, Chris Stapleton, John Mellencamp, Kris Kristofferson, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Lyle Lovett and many others will be taped and broadcast as a television special on A&E at a later date.

“I was playing the album for a dear friend of ours, and my wife was with me and it was just the three of us playing the album and as we listened to the album. This person loved the album, but my wife said, ‘But let me play you what didn’t make it.’ The first thing she played was ‘Some of It.’ And I hadn’t listened to it in a while, and it was always a favorite song of mine. It’s why it was the first one we took in, and I listened to it that night and I’m like…I’m gonna regret if I don’t record this song. I called my manager that night and said that we gotta talk. The recording was done, the record was essentially done, but, um, I said, ‘I gotta do this. I gotta cut this song.’ I think my hesitation was because, initially, all the stuff that I thought was gonna be the pillars for this album just bombed…so I was scared of that song. I thought this is another song that was in that group that I’m gonna bump and I’m gonna go a different way. But I think it’s really interesting that the album took on an identity that allowed some of it to make it from where it started to where it is now. And it just fit in the dialogue, it fit into what the entire album’s talking about and, it really made it uh, to me it made the album. I loved the album before it was on there, but it might be my favorite album now that it’s on there.”
