PARKER McCOLLUM READY TO OPEN THIS YEAR’S HOUSTON RODEO.

Parker McCollum is getting a “handle” on headlining the Houston Rodeo. Last year, he sold out his debut appearance, performing for a crowd of over 73,000 people, and this year, he’s set to open the entire 2023 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on Tuesday night (February 28th).

The Texas native always dreamed of one day performing at the Houston Rodeo, and he feels this is the biggest goal he could accomplish…so far.

“Performing at Houston Rodeo on opening night is kind of the pinnacle for me. Really the one thing I set out to do when I first picked up a guitar, I did it, and now I’m getting to do it twice, and now I’m getting to do it on opening night,” says Parker. “So, obviously, I want to keep going and keep growing this thing and see how big of a level we can get to, but if this is as big as it ever got, you know I’d be totally okay and sleep just fine at night knowing that I accomplished my ultimate goal, which is playing the Houston Rodeo. Everything else is just a bonus.”

Parker, who’s sitting inside the Top 10 on the country charts with “Handle On You,” recently announced the release date for his upcoming album, Never Enough, available May 12th.

There comes a time in any climb up one of Colorado’s famous 14,000 foot peaks when, after a few hours of striving, you pause on a ledge, turn around, and marvel at the vista and the ground you’ve covered. That’s where Dierks Bentley finds himself, 20 years into an exceptional career in 21st century country music. The view is breathtaking for sure, but this is a multi-platinum artist in peak shape, his eyes fixed on the summit.

The 2020 pandemic gave Bentley a moment to breathe and think about his journey to this point and the possibilities for the heights that lay ahead. The break led to a new burst of creativity. With one foot in Nashville and one in his beloved second home of Colorado, he worked harder than he ever had on an album – his landmark tenth, Gravel & Gold.

It’s a diverse, 14-track album written almost entirely by Dierks with his closest collaborators about perspective and self-awareness at many levels from the personal to the professional. It’s also a testament to the many strains of country music Bentley has mastered and cultivated in his career, from the arena shaker to the barroom weeper to the bluegrass fireballer. In its opening track “Same Old Me,” Bentley recognizes that midlife demands adjustments and adaptations – as well as nurturing the inner fire of the 18-year-old country music fanatic who first arrived in Nashville in the 1990s. Fifty minutes later, we’re in an intimate circle with Music City’s greatest pickers, trading licks and laughs on a witty song about getting high. It was no easy thing to encompass in one record the values and sounds that have defined Bentley across two decades of hits and millions of touring miles, but he’s pulled it off. The story of Gravel & Gold is one of renewal, family, persistence and devotion to making the music as authentic and lasting as it can possibly be.

GRAVEL & GOLD Track List:

  1. “Same Ol’ Me” (Luke Dick, Jon Randall, Dierks Bentley)
  2. “Sun Sets In Colorado” (Ross Copperman, Tommy Lee James, Josh Osborne)
  3. “Heartbreak Drinking Tour” (Luke Dick, Ashley Gorley, Michael Hardy, Ross Copperman, Dierks Bentley)

RELIVE FIVE STANDOUT MOMENTS FROM DIERKS BENTLEY’S GRAVEL & GOLD ALBUM CELEBRATION.

On Thursday night (February 23rd) ahead of the release of his 10th studio album GRAVEL & GOLD, multi-Platinum singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley performed a two-hour set at the Country Music Hall of Fame‘s CMA Theater where he played new music for the first time while mixing in No. One hits and older album cuts as “the event was as much an album release celebration as it was a career retrospective for Bentley,” (American Songwriter). Earning multiple standing ovations, Bentley’s setlist spanned 20 years and followed his musical journey with special guests including Sam Bush, Jason Carter, Ronnie and Del McCoury, The War And Treaty and co-writer Luke Dick joining throughout the night.  Fans can relive five must-see moments from “An Evening with Dierks Bentley: The Road to Gravel & Gold” here.

1.) “Sun Sets in Colorado”
Bentley expressed gratitude for the Bluegrass community that took him under their wing before sharing with the crowd that he had only one person in mind to play on the new track when it came time to record it in the studio – Bluegrass Hall of Fame and founding New Grass Revival member Sam Bush. The performance earned the night’s first standing ovation.

2.) “Still”
Backed by only acoustic guitars, Bentley’s distinct vocal led a stripped down version of this favorite off the new album. After getting swept away in the moment, Bentley paused to vulnerably ask to restart the song, sharing how important it was to him to get the lyrics right.

3.) “Walking Each Other Home”
“You can’t change the world with one song, but it feels good to try,” Bentley said while performing alongside co-writer Luke Dick.  He went on to express gratitude for the gift of connection with the poignant “Walking Each Other Home.”

4.) “Pride (In the Name of Love)”
Bentley has performed multiple renditions of U2’s iconic “Pride (In the Name of Love)” over the years, but last night’s combination of Ronnie and Del McCoury, Jason Carter, Sam Bush with The War And Treaty made for unparalleled harmonies and instrumentation that brought the crowd to their feet.

5.) “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)”
Over the years “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)” has been a staple song during Bentley’s full-throttle tours. To close the one-night only show, Bentley took to the stage with his fifth No. One and Platinum hit “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)” while backed by the evening’s guests who have each been part of the journey to Bentley’s GRAVEL & GOLD.

The 10th album landmark speaks to how time has flown in Bentley’s unique, 21st-century career. He landed his first publishing deal in 2001 and released his debut album in 2003, producing an instant No. One single. The years since have revealed a rare consistency that’s fueled longevity – eight more albums that reached the top of the Country sales charts, resulting in 21 No. One songs, eight billion streams, three CMA Awards, 14 GRAMMY® nominations and membership into the Grand Ole Opry. Trendy sounds have ebbed and flowed around him over these two decades, but fans have relied on Bentley for something more nourishing and individual. He also has created professional endeavors outside of the music with his Flag & Anthem lifestyle collection Desert Son, along with his “Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row” franchise hosting four locations. Drive You Out of My Mind

I cried, I tried
I’ve been about as “mama’s broken heart” as I can be
These small talk, slow down, one road in and out
Walls are closing in on me

This town ain’t big enough for breakin’ up
I’m ‘bout to leave it in a cloud of dust
You’re everywhere and I can’t take it
Chevy wild horses offto the races

Until I hit the city limits, ‘til I hit the state line
‘Til I reach a coast or a ghost town a thousand miles out
Keep this needle hittin’ ninety ‘til your memory can’t find me anyhow
Keep the pedal down

‘Til I see some taillights that don’t make me think of you
‘Til I’m pulled over on the shoulder by some flashin’ blue lights
‘Til this heart forgets to break, I don’t care if it takes me all night
I’m gonna drive you outta my mind

I did hot mess, new dress
Leanin’ on the whiskey but it just won’t do it
And somethin’ ‘bout this driver’s side dried my eyes
Got me thinkin’ maybe I should just keep movin’

Until I hit the city limits, ‘til I hit the state line
‘Til I reach a coast or a ghost town a thousand miles out
Keep this needle hittin’ ninety ‘til your memory can’t find me anyhow
Keep the pedal down

‘Til I see some taillights that don’t make me think of you
‘Til I’m pulled over on the shoulder by some flashin’ blue lights
‘Til this heart forgets to break, I don’t care if it takes me all night
I’m gonna drive you outta my mind
I’m gonna drive you outta my mind

This town ain’t big enough for breakin’ up
I’m ‘bout to leave it in a cloud of dust
You’re everywhere and I can’t take it
Chevy wild horses off to the races

Until I hit the city limits, ‘til I hit the state line
‘Til I reach a coast or a ghost town a thousand miles out
Keep this needle hittin’ ninety ‘til your memory can’t find me anyhow
Keep the pedal down

‘Til I see some taillights that don’t make me think of you
‘Til I’m pulled over on the shoulder by some flashin’ blue lights
‘Til this heart forgets to break, I don’t care if it takes me all night
I’m gonna drive you outta my mind
I’m gonna drive you outta my mind
Drive you
I’m gonna drive you outta my mind

KIP MOORE’S RUGGEDLY POETIC FIFTH STUDIO ALBUM DAMN LOVE AVAILABLE APRIL 28TH.

Kip Moore‘s fifth studio album DAMN LOVE will be available on April 28 and is available to pre-order now HERE. Over 13 new tracks, co-produced by Moore and Jaren Johnston (The Cadillac Three), emotionally raw and thick with epiphany, Moore explores an internal tug of war and puts it simply enough: Damn Love.

Moore is giving fans a first look into the forthcoming 13-song project by releasing the title track today, available to listen HERE. Leading the album like a cross between campfire contemplation and redemptive rock anthem. We can’t escape love and the longing it brings, Moore finally admits.

“I’ve always had a nomadic spirit, at the core of me that’s what I am, and it’s a beautiful life I lead – I don’t take that for granted,” Moore says. “But I still crave that companionship down deep in my DNA, and that’s where ‘Damn Love’ comes from. There’s a reason love and relationships have been written about so much – and why they continue to get written about. Because at the core of us, that’s what we desire the most.”

The genre-blending songsmith has a history of entrancing audiences around the world with sold-out headlining shows in Australia, South Africa, the U.K., Europe and a slot at Bonnaroo all slated for 2023. Moore holds on to passion in the persistent anthem, “Heart on Fire,” while “Another Night In Knoxville” captures the magnetic draw of the stage – a sweeping ‘70s-rock ballad that soundtracks a long-cherished memory. Meanwhile the refreshing “Kinda Bar” conjures magic from a roadside tavern, and a comforting sense of clarity arrives with gentle instant classics, “Some Things” and “One Heartbeat” (featuring Ashley McBryde).

Dierks Bentley (honed in on album) OC: …into this record. :33
“I really honed-in on the direction of this album when I came back to Nashville from Colorado. I did not want to come back. I wanted to stay in Colorado forever, but I got sucked back into Nashville. But when I got here, I actually realized how much I missed this place. It’s a great town, great friends, great people and obviously great music, and this record really kind of took a direction there. I wrote the song ‘Gold,’ which is about something that could look like gravel but actually could feel like gold, depending on your perspective, and so just having an attitude for gratitude was a big part of my head space going into this record.”

BRAD PAISLEY RELEASES FIRST NEW SONG FROM SON OF THE MOUNTAINS ALBUM.

Global country music superstar Brad Paisley is set to debut his first album with Universal Music Group Nashville later this year, titled Son of The Mountains. Today he is releasing the first new song off the forth coming project, “Same Here,” with a special appearance by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy marking the first anniversary since the war in Ukraine began. “Same Here” was written by Brad, Lee Thomas Miller and Taylor Goldsmith, and produced by Luke Wooten.

LISTEN TO “SAME HERE” | HERE

“‘Son of the Mountains’ is a collection of songs that I’ve been writing and working on for a while now,” shared Brad. “The music encompasses a lot of big themes and perspectives from a kid that came from a small town in West Virginia after having seen a bit of the world. The record doesn’t shy away from reflection, real life and situations that are going on and what I think country music is- which is truth.”

“‘Same Here’ with President Zelenskyy is one of the pieces of this album that represents so much a part of my journey from West Virginia to now. One of the prevailing themes on this album is freedom. That’s something I truly believe in, and think is our most precious gift as Americans. The song is grounded in observing life in the United States, then to people from other countries who speak different languages and to one across the ocean that’s at war. We start to realize how similar we all are.”

Added Paisley, “That’s one of the things the President says in the song, ‘There is no distance between our two countries in such values.’ They are longing for what we as Americans have already. It’s heartbreaking watching this struggle in modern time for freedom and democracy and the ability to just simply be who they want to be in peace. And this song is something that I hope resonates not only with my fans and people in America, but people anywhere that feel a similar desire to be free and safe and happy. Because I really do believe that as human beings when you take away the banners that determine what country we all live in, we all want the same things.”

Proceeds from the song will go to UNITED24 for their Rebuild Ukraine program launched by Pres. Zelenskyy as the main venue for collecting charitable donations to rebuild and restore homes damaged by the current war. This reconstruction plan is the largest rebuilding project in Ukraine since the second World War. Brad’s relationship with Pres. Zelenskyy grew from his participation in the ‘Ukraine: Answering the Call’ charity telethon in 2022 which was broadcast in prime time in the USA. Last month Brad was named an ambassador for UNITED24. Brad Paisley (Same Here) 1 OC: …so similar. 1:00
“The song ‘Same Here’ was written about a year ago, shortly after the war started in Ukraine. I had written this song as something that I had an idea for, which was just traveling more and more around both America, we went to Europe last year and played a bunch of shows. We went to Australia for the first time. I’m just struck by the fact that people seem, as different as they can be in some of their customs and traditions, deep down they’re so similar. We want so many of the same things, and that’s what this song is about. It’s about finding the common ground with a land far away really, and sometimes that’s from state to state, sometimes it’s same continent but different language, and other times it’s all the way across the ocean and around the world. And conditions may change, and people are going through different things at different times, but deep down, these things, these things that we want, the things that we want, our values are so similar.”

Audio / Brad Paisley talks about his upcoming album, Son Of The Mountains, and the first release, "Same Here," which features Ukrainian President Zelensky.

Brad Paisley (Same Here) 2 OC: …people think. :49
“’Same Here’ is a song that’s the first thing you’re hearing off an album I’ve done called Son Of The Mountains, and this album is me really trying to deal with the things in the world that I’ve seen as a kid in a small town in the mountains of West Virginia. Now that I’ve traveled this world a little bit and also, I guess, lived a little bit, it’s really an interesting thing to try to write about the interesting things I’ve seen. And this song is very unique in the sense that it features (Ukraine) President Zelensky talking about his country which is currently obviously at war and the things that they share with the United States in the way that they want to be free and the things they care about. And so, it’s gonna be really fun and interesting, I think, to release all of the songs off this album and see what people think.”

“NEXT THING YOU KNOW” BABY THREE IS COMING FOR JORDAN DAVIS AND HIS WIFE KRISTEN.

Jordan Davis and his wife Kristen are acting out some of the actions of his new single, “Next Thing You Know,” for the…third time. The couple, who married in 2017, revealed on socials that they’re expecting their third child in June. The new addition will join big sister Eloise (2019) and Locklan (2021).

Jordan tells us they’re really excited to meet their third child, but they’re waiting to find out whether it will be a girl or boy. “We got another one coming in June,” he says. “I gotta figure out how to not have kids in the summer because I’m usually pretty busy. I don’t know what I was thinking then but, you know I’m so excited. There truly is no greater joy in the world than welcoming a baby, and we don’t know what it is. We’re gonna wait and find out, but (we’re) really excited come June to be bringing home a baby brother or a baby sister to Lock and Eloise. So far Kristen’s been great. Everything looks healthy, you know, we’re just continuing to pray for a safe delivery and looking forward to meeting the little fella or little girl here soon. I’m pumped.”

Jordan just released his brand new album, Bluebird Days, this past Friday (February 17th).

He’ll wrap up his Canadian tour this weekend with shows in Montreal on Friday (February 24th) and Ottawa on Saturday (February 25th).
