JOSH TURNER ANNOUNCES THE “LONG BLACK TRAIN 20th ANNIVERSARY TOUR” DATES AND TICKET ON SALE.

Multi-platinum-selling recording artist Josh Turner is heading out on the “Long Black Train 20th Anniversary Tour,” in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Turner’s hit album, Long Black Train and the album’s second single of the same name, which were both certified Platinum by the RIAA. On May 19, the album Long Black Train will be released on vinyl for the first time, to coincide with the anniversary of the single’s original 2003 release date, and the special edition vinyl is available now for pre-order. Turner will also be featured on the nationally syndicated TV series, “The Song,” on Saturday, March 11. The episode will spotlight “Long Black Train,” the country gospel leaning signature song written while attending Belmont University in Nashville.  Turner walks the campus and revisits the very locations that inspired the song. Tickets for Turner’s tour, which launches March 4 in Dothan, AL, are available now at joshturner.com.

“I wrote this song during my senior year at Belmont University, and I remember thinking to myself, no one is going to want to hear this old timey gospel song. Thankfully, God placed a few folks in my life that thought differently and here we are celebrating the 20th Anniversary of ‘Long Black Train,’” says Turner. “I credit this song with landing me my first publishing deal, my record deal and my first Opry performance.  A lot of folks think that this was my first single, but it was actually my second. I was hesitant when the label suggested it be the next single, nothing else on the radio sounded like it. I don’t know where I’d be today without this song and so we named the tour for this 20th anniversary and will be celebrating all year long.”

Reba Dolly (recording Does He Love You) OC: (Reba) …thrilled to pieces. 1:02
REBA: “When I first heard Dolly singing on the ‘Does He Love You’ song, I said, ‘I’ve got to hear it again!’ I absolutely loved it, but we didn’t get to record together. I did it with the band, and then we sent it to Dolly, because of COVID and everything, couldn’t get together, so I’m really glad that we got to be together today to do the video.” DOLLY: “Well, I was so excited when she wanted me to sing on it, ‘cause I thought, well, I cannot sing like Linda Davis and I thought, well, she is such a great singer so that’s gonna be a tough one, but I love Reba and I love the song. And I thought well, I’m not supposed to sound like anybody else again anyway, so and Reba and I have such similar feelings in our voices and I’ve always felt we’d sing great together, so when I heard her singing it, I thought I think I can do this. (REBA LAUGHS) I was very moved by her vocal, so I seem to know kind of what to do. But when we heard it both when it was all put together, I thought this was really good. I was real happy with it.” REBA: “Me too. I was thrilled to pieces.”

Audio / BROTHERS OSBORNE’S JOHN OSBORNE TALKS ABOUT THE SONG “MIDNIGHT RIDER’S PRAYER” FROM THEIR UPCOMING SKELETONS DELUXE ALBUM.

Brothers Osborne (Midnight Rider’s Prayer) OC: …today. :31
“We almost put this on our previous album Port Saint Joe, but it didn’t quite fit at the time, so we decided to retool to make it sound more like Brothers Osborne sounds these days. But we wrote the song back when we were in a van and a trailer and we made this song really dark and minor, and we ended up using the chorus from Willie Nelson’s ‘On The Road Again’ with Willie’s blessing. And it’s just cool. I mean it gives a good window as to lyrically where we came from, but sonically where we’re at today.”

Audio / Backstage at last year's Grammy Awards after winning two trophies, Chris Stapleton talked about winning awards.

Chris Stapleton (Grammys 2022) OC: …those guys. :36
“You know, anytime that you are even nominated for a award or someone thinks enough of you to invite you to these kinds of shows, particularly the Grammys, it’s, you know, it’s a very surreal moment and we had a very surreal moment all day today. And so it was it was a very and to get to play a song, you know that I wrote with the guys in the band on the show, won a Grammy for it earlier in the year and in the evening, and it was a special night for it. For me. For me, it’s special and it’s special. Get it to do with those guys.

Trailblazing husband-and-wife duo The War And Treaty expand on their sound that cuts through the whole of Southern music tradition with their forthcoming milestone album, LOVER’S GAME, available March 10. The 10-song collection produced by Dave Cobb, marks their first major-label release under Mercury Nashville as it finds Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter offering a unique perspective on shifting cultural and musical tides while pulling back the layers of a maturing relationship.

JORDAN DAVIS’ MOM CAN BREATHE A SIGH OF RELIEF.

After winning the CMA Award for Song of the Year for “Buy Dirt” with his brother Jacob Davis and Matt and Josh Jenkins, Jordan Davis recalled a moment during a family Thanksgiving dinner when his mother worried about him and his brother Jacob Davis becoming songwriters.

“I honestly think back on a time when I overheard my mom at a family Thanksgiving thing, saying I can’t believe that I somehow let my boys move to Nashville and try to be songwriters,” says Jordan. “And I think of it now and how hard that was for her, to think we were gonna try to move and make a living as songwriters, but there’s no bigger award than we could’ve got that night. My mom doesn’t worry about her boys writing songs anymore, and I think for me that’s one of my most proud moments from accepting that award that night. Mom, we’re good now.”

Jordan just enjoyed two weeks at the top of the country charts with his most recent smash, “What My World Spins Around.” The song is included on his upcoming album, Bluebird Days, which will be released on February 17th.

Audio / Jordan Davis said winning the CMA Award for Song of the Year put his mom's fears at ease.
