• GEORGE STRAIT’S HONKY TONK TIME MACHINE OUT NOW!

Iconic entertainer George Strait continues his reign as the King of Country Music with the release today of his 30th career studio album Honky Tonk Time Machine. The brand-new album, which includes Strait’s latest radio single “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar,” is now available for download HERE.

Los Angeles Times notes, “George Strait calls his new album Honky Tonk Time Machine, but it’s hard to think of a country star less in need of one of those.” While Rolling Stone calls it “a signature set of Texas soul and swing.”

Produced by George Strait and Chuck Ainley, Honky Tonk Time Machine includes 13 tracks, eight of which were written by Strait himself. Stand-out tracks include “Sing One with Willie” featuring Willie Nelson and Strait’s version of the Johnny Paycheck classic “Old Violin.” Yet, perhaps the most notable and sentimental highlight of the album is “God and Country Music.” Written by Luke Laird, Barry Dean and Lori McKenna, the song features a very special vocal guest, Strait’s grandson, Harvey Strait.

To further celebrate the release of Honky Tonk Time Machine, the Texas native will travel to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. on Saturday (March 30) to play in front of a sold-out crowd alongside openers Chris Stapleton, Chris Janson and Ashley McBryde. The performance will serve as Strait’s first visit to Atlanta since his 2014 Cowboy Rides Away Tour.

  • GEORGE STRAIT ENLISTS HIS GRANDSON HARVEY FOR HIS SONG “GOD AND COUNTRY MUSIC.”

George Strait is set to release his brand new studio album, Honky Tonk Time Machine, on Friday (March 29th). For the new project, the Country Music Hall of Famer enlisted the help of a very special guest, his grandson Harvey, on the song “God and Country Music,” which George hopes will be the first of many times he’ll collaborate with him.

“When I recorded this record, we did it in Key West and I had my grandson down there with me, and we went every day to the studio, and so he’d have to get his charts and lyrics and follow along with everybody else,” says George. “But we ended up putting him on the song ‘God and Country Music,’ and he’s there on the end of it. It’s the first time I’ve ever got to sing with my grandson; maybe it’s the first of many.”

George says the recording process was pretty fun with his young protégé. “I went in there and I kinda did it with him, and then I would kinda just back out and leave him, and so that’s how it worked out,” he says. “He was all for it. He was all about doing it. He got really involved in that record. For six years old [laughs], that’s pretty good.”

George is scaling the country charts with his latest song, “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar,” which is poised to enter the Top 20.

The troubadour will hit the stage this Saturday (March 30th) with a show at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, along with a stellar lineup of opening acts, including Chris Stapleton, Ashley McBryde and Chris Janson.

In addition to the release of his new album on Friday, tickets for his Gillette Stadium show in August go on sale as well.

  • GEORGE STRAIT BREAKS VENUE ATTENDANCE RECORD AT NRG STADIUM FOR RODEOHOUSTON!

Since announcing his plans to no longer tour in the traditional sense: city-after-city, night-after-night, American music icon George Strait has redefined what it looks like to entertain crowds in the 21st century. From his 22-and-counting sell-out shows at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, to one-off performances at New Orleans’ Superdome and Austin’s Frank Erwin Center, to his upcoming March 30 performance at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the man The New Yorker calls “country’s most consistent hitmaker” has discovered an entirely different way to engage and entertain his fans with select 2+ hour shows throughout the year. As the Texas native stepped onto his signature in-the-round stage, he greeted the crowd with a wave and a smile having been told moments before he had set a new record for a concert event at NRG Stadium with 80,108 fans in attendance, besting his previous attendance record set in 2013 of 80,020. The Houston Chronicle calls Strait “a living legend among country music greats,” adding of tonight’s show, “there was energy and enthusiasm in every verse and lyric,” before further noting he is one of five entertainers to have performed in front of more than 1 million RODEOHOUSTON fans.

Strait kicked off the night with one of his crossover No. 1’s “Write This Down” before covering a setlist spanning his 30 studio albums.

When Strait introduced the lead single “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar” from Honky Tonk Time Machine, his new album due out March 29th on longtime label home MCA Nashville, the crowd erupted, singing along from the first verse. Strait’s grandson, Harvey, also joined the troubadour on stage for a special performance of “God and Country Music.”

Strait produced his forthcoming 30th studio album alongside Chuck Ainlay and wrote 8 of the 13 songs including a co-write and feature with Willie Nelson marking the first time the two have collaborated on a song. Album pre-order is available HERE and fans can hear new songs including the title track, single “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar,” “Código,” “God and Country Music” and latest, “The Weight of the Badge,” now.
