• MADDIE & TAE’S SOPHOMORE ALBUM “THE WAY IT FEELS” OUT NOW.

PLATINUM-selling duo Maddie & Tae unveiled their eagerly awaited album THE WAY IT FEELS today via Mercury Nashville. Following two critically acclaimed EPs last year lauded for “impressive fullness to the sound and style” (Billboard) while being “drenched in raw, vulnerable emotion” (American Songwriter), Maddie & Tae shared the final chapter with the release of their 15-song sophomore effort, “filled with glorious songwriting and harmonies” and pegged “an absolute delight” (Associated Press). Entirely co-written by Maddie & Tae with only one outside track rounding out the collection, the album was produced by Derek Wells and Jimmy Robbins and is available now here.

Despite having to reschedule their headlining TOURIST IN THIS TOWN tour initially set to launch next week (new dates TBA), the duo has set several appearances to interact with audiences to kick-off the release of THE WAY IT FEELS. Starting now, fans are invited to join Maddie & Tae for a virtual listening party at https://www.thewayitfeels.party. On Tuesday, April 14 at 12pm CT they will be Live on Facebook and YouTube chatting about the new music and answering fan questions.

Later today, the pair are taking over the WNSH-FM Instagram page ahead of toasting with Taste of Country on Facebook Live for a Happy Hour Q&A beginning at 5:30pm ET/4:30pm CT.  Tomorrow, April 11, Maddie & Tae are slated to appear on CMT Hot 20 at 9am ET/8am CT, then will join the Grand Ole Opry to host its inaugural Circle Sessions, a special 30-minute pre-show livestream across Circle All Access digital platforms beginning at 7:30pm ET/6:30pm CT prior to Saturday’s live Grand Ole Opry show.

Tagged as “every bit the prolific and gifted singer-songwriters they were five years ago” (CMT.com), THE WAY IT FEELS is boldly honest and “highlights a different place in life for the 24-year-old singers” (US Weekly). Anchored by their GOLD-certified single “Die From A Broken Heart,” which is inside the Top 25 at country radio with over 170 million streams and “Bathroom Floor,” a standout track MusicRow calls “feisty, rocking, empowering and clever,” the project is rounded-out with five never-before-heard songs. Ranging from the “terrific” (Associated Press) “Write A Book” to raw moments of strength displayed on “Water In His Wine Glass,” the duo’s artistry is on full display as they culminate their journey of love, loss and redemption.

Award-winning duo Maddie & Tae are drawing praise for their new music “anchored around their stellar vocal pairings and some of the tightest harmonies on Music Row” (Rolling Stone) with a “sound that’s identifiable while still representing a distinct step forward” (Billboard). Their highly anticipated sophomore album THE WAY IT FEELS is available now (Mercury Nashville), featuring the GOLD-certified Top 25 single “Die From A Broken Heart.” Maddie & Tae first broke out in 2013 with their brilliant “Girl In A Country Song,” which took Country radio by storm, skyrocketing to the top of the charts and quickly going PLATINUM. The duo became only the third female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay charts, also earning trophies from the Country Music Academy and Radio Disney Music Awards along with multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Award nominations. Receiving widespread praise from NPR, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, Glamour and others, Country music’s hottest stars including Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice and Brad Paisley have welcomed Maddie & Tae on the road, with the pair set to support Lady Antebellum’s 2020 OCEAN TOUR. Maddie & Tae (Album title) OC: …the album title. 1:30
MADDIE: ‘We were dead set on ‘One Heart to Another’ for the album title ‘cause we felt like it matched the picture, all this. And then I had, I listened to ‘Bathroom Floor’ and I heard it one night like I think I was driving home from a friend’s house, it was like 10:30 at night and I’m like driving home, and I hear ‘Bathroom Floor’ and I’m like ‘Oh my gosh, it’s so exciting!’ like hearing your song on the radio and it was one of the first times I’d heard it on the radio. I’m driving home and the line ‘I bet you’re gonna love the way it feels,’ that line hit me differently in the car. And I was like ‘the way it feels’ that’s interesting. And so that phrase just stayed in my head for like a solid month. And I just kind of kept simmering over it over Christmas break, and I even asked family members and everyone was like ‘No, I think it’s One Heart to Another’, I think it’s ‘One Heart to Another.’ And then when like the last minute, we’re like we have to name the album, I had our head of, one of our creative directors over here at UMG, Karen Naff. I was like, ‘Hey I need you to change ‘One Heart To Another’, cause we already had the album title ready to go with the picture, the colors and everything. I was like I just need you to change the text to ‘The Way It Feels’ just for fun. I don’t think anyone’s gonna like it, but just to see it. And so when she like sly-dog sent me the image I texted it to Tae and our head of A&R Stephanie Wright, who had a huge part in putting this whole record together with us, and everyone was like, ‘Yup! I think that’s the album title.’”

“Hi, this is Carrie Underwood. I am dealing with the social distancing much like everybody else. We are just at home, and we are trying to get out and explore when the weather’s nice enough to do so. We are so lucky that we have some land around us that we get to get outside and get some of our energy out, especially with a five-year-old, for Isaiah, trying to come up with crafts. I’ve been cooking a lot. My house is spotless. [laughs] But just trying to do what I can work-wise as much as I can at home and trying not to worry and praying much like everybody else.”

I do like A Million Little Things when that’s on. It seems like maybe when one of my favorite shows ends, it’s like another one starts back up again. But we watch a lot of murder-mystery type shows, as well.”

“I’m doing a lot of the same things I’ve always done to stay healthy. I’m trying to eat right, take care of my body. But I have followed the guidelines of quarantining myself. I’m trying to do everything asked of me. I’m currently in the mountains and I’m rock climbing. I’m completely solo. I’m off the grid. I’ve stocked up on a lot of frozen meats. I’ve got a little lodge up here in Kentucky, so I’m hanging out here, so that’s where I’m spending my time. I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish. I’ve always been able to dabble in it, but I want to get better at it. So, the first thing I did was I downloaded the dual lingo app, and it’s very elementary. Every single morning, I try to spend 45 minutes to an hour with that app, and the other thing that I’ve been trying to do is I have been outside trying to work on my skateboard game.”

We just moved into a little cabin out in the woods about five months ago, so we’re getting some time in the new place, getting to know it a little bit. There’s some woods behind the house we can go and walk in, and we’re doing that now after we binged out on Netflix and Youtube, and got some dogs. I’ve got a little bird dog puppy, I’ll get out in the yard, trying to train, so I’ll mess with him a little bit. But getting to spend some time around the house, taking it easy, but I’m hoping this thing passes sooner than later.”

We’re all in this together and we have to take the necessary precautions to stop this horrible, horrible virus, and as hard as it is for me, I am doing everything I can to be safe and clean and do my part and I think we all have to do that right now. And I’m writing on Zoom, which is an app that I can connect with, it’s a video app that I can connect with the other songwriters and hopefully I can finish this album in this time and have that ready to go when we all get back to our lives.”

Even if it’s not face-to-face we have endless time to connect with people. And I think we’ve all done a really good job through Instagram and Facebook and Twitter and all of our social medias to stay in touch with one another, and I think this is an opportunity to remember how much people mean to you and to tell them. Be safe, be kind, and I hope to see you soon.”

I’m watching Westworld and it’s crazy it’s on HBO I think.”Maddie- “Yea I’m watching Walking Dead from the beginning, but I don’t recommend that for anxious people. We are all very isolated, but strangely we’re all going through this together. And I think it’s very, very important just to give each other a call – call a loved one, call your Mom, call your dad, call anyone, call someone that you haven’t talked to in years. I think it’s very important to stay very connected. • MADDIE & TAE SHARE “BATHROOM FLOOR” MUSIC VIDEO ON CMT TODAY.

Current ACM Awards Duo of the Year nominees Maddie & Tae unveiled the official music video for “Bathroom Floor” today on CMT and on Viacom’s Times Square billboard. The video for the song “everyone needs to hear” (Seventeen), featured on the pair’s upcoming sophomore album THE WAY IT FEELS out on April 10th, also premiered across all CMT platforms – watch HERE.

Picking up where acclaimed music video “Die From A Broken Heart” left off, which had the best first week video debut by a country female act in 2019 and is approaching the Top 30 at country radio, “Bathroom Floor” opens with the same characters chronicled throughout last year’s “revealing” (PEOPLE) video. In the brand new video for the song Billboard describes as “a somber tale of a girl struggling following a split, the upbeat music and the duo’s powerhouse vocals help convince a friend to ‘get up off the bathroom floor,’” Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye succeed in the ultimate girls’ night out, healing heartbreak and moving forward with blasts of confidence and moxie.

Award-winning duo Maddie & Tae are drawing praise for their new music “anchored around their stellar vocal pairings and some of the tightest harmonies on Music Row” (Rolling Stone) with a “sound that’s identifiable while still representing a distinct step forward” (Billboard). Their highly anticipated sophomore album THE WAY IT FEELS is set to release on April 10 (Mercury Nashville), featuring the GOLD-certified single “Die From A Broken Heart.” Maddie & Tae first broke out in 2013 with their brilliant “Girl In A Country Song,” which took Country radio by storm, skyrocketing to the top of the charts and quickly going PLATINUM. The duo became only the third female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay charts, also earning trophies from the Country Music Academy and Radio Disney Music Awards along with multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Award nominations. Receiving widespread praise from NPR, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, Glamour and others, country music’s hottest stars including Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice and Brad Paisley have welcomed Maddie & Tae on the road, with the pair set to support Lady Antebellum’s 2020 OCEAN TOUR following their headlining TOURIST IN THIS TOWN TOUR. Maddie & Tae (Bathroom Floor) OC: (Tae) …exactly. 1:33
MADDIE: “It was a crazy day because we, I was having a really, really rough emotional day the day we wrote ‘Bathroom Floor.’ I had some just crazy stuff going on in my personal life, and so I walked into the writing room bawling crying for something totally separate, and we wrote a song about that. And it was super somber and just really therapeutic, and then after it was just such a healing experience and we were thinking about this. I had this title ‘Bathroom Floor’ for probably a year, and I texted Tae and I was like ‘Hey, I wanna write Bathroom Floor with you and Josh one day. I think it’s gonna be a really sad, somber song.’ That’s how I envisioned it at first, and then that day for some reason, we had already written this really, really sad somber song, and then we kind of started talking about Bathroom Floor, and I was like I’ve always wanted to write that with y’all. And Josh kind of started this groove that made it sound like, happy, and we were like oh my gosh, this could be a really empowering anthem type of song. ‘Cause we hadn’t written that yet. ‘New Dogs, Old Tricks’ was kind of our girl anthem before Bathroom Floor, and now it’s like we finally wrote our redemption song ourselves, which is a really powerful moment for us but we kind of tapped into experiences both of us had had. We got really drunk in Jamaica one time and were on the bathroom floor ,and then my bachelorette party I was really on the bathroom floor. Oof. It’s kind of just a song to hopefully empower women that are going through the ‘Die From a Broken Heart’ phase, to go, ‘Hey, bathroom floor’s right here, girl. You gotta go live it up.” TAE: “Silver lining, it’s coming.” MADDIE: “Yes.”
