  • JOSH TURNER RELEASES A SPECIAL DELUXE EDITION OF HIS ICONIC ALBUM, YOUR MAN, ON FRIDAY (JUNE 25TH).

Josh Turner is celebrating 15 years of Your Man with a special deluxe edition of the iconic album available Friday ( June 25th). Leading into the deluxe release, Turner is hosting a virtual album release event at 7pm CT on June 24 including performances of some of his most memorable hits from Your Man.

The Your Man Deluxe Edition features all 11 original tracks including collaborations with country icons John AndersonDr. Ralph Stanley, and Diamond Rio’s Marty RoeGene Johnson, and Dana Williams, plus live versions of the Triple-Platinum-selling title track “Your Man,” fan favorite and often celebrated “Me and God,” and multi-week No. 1 hit “Would You Go With Me.”

“Just the sheer fact that I’m celebrating 15 years since the release of my second record is kind of hard to believe,” says Josh. “We added three live versions of the singles that were on this record, and I went back and rewrote all the liner notes because there’s so many backstories and side stories to this record and how it’s affected people and just the interactions with the other artists and the collaborations. There’s just so much life that’s happened since this record has come out, so much has happened in my career.”

Josh is hoping the deluxe version will reach a new generation of fans. “Obviously, it’s already sold over two million copies so there’s a lot of people that have the original version of this record, but this younger generation they grew up in a world and they’ve grown up in a world where they were buying single songs, they were streaming stuff, they weren’t going out and buying the physical album or even the digital album for that matter. So, hopefully, this kind of encourages them to see the full body of work because it’s not just about ‘Your Man’ or ‘Would You Go With Me’ or ‘Me And God.’ There’s other songs on this record. (laughs) So, hopefully they’ll discover those for the first time.”

  • DIERKS BENTLEY IS ELATED TO BE BACK ONSTAGE.

Dierks Bentley recently wrapped his High Times & Hangovers club tour – headlining five shows in five nights. He had a blast on stage, even crowd surfing into the audience, making it feel as normal as possible after the year-and-a-half we’ve all endured with the global pandemic.

“It felt so great. It’s a great feeling being back out there,” says Dierks. “In a lot of ways, it’s a lot of different emotions, you know. Looking out at these stages, I’ve played all these rooms before. So, there’s just the general kind of like flashback of wow, we’re back in some of these like kind of iconic country bars. And then, of course, all that happened last year. There’s that whole thing happening in your mind, too. But for the most part, it’s just able to block all that out and have a lot of fun and focus on that show and seen the elation in the fans’ faces and in my band’s faces as well, too. And I’ve tried to not make anything more than that, just fun and not focus too much on the circumstances of what has happened or is happening. Just been going out there and trying to keep it heavy on the music and then just have a good time and we’ve had. We’ve had a lot of fun,”

He gave fans a taste of what to expect from his upcoming 2021 Beers On Me Tour with special guests Parker McCollum and Riley Green. The trek kicks off August 13th in Sal Lake City, Utah. For more information on tour dates go to Dierks.com.

Dierks is closing in at Top 5 with his latest song, “Gone.”

  • GEORGE STRAIT TO CELEBRATE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW AND RODEO 2022.

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials announced the Rodeo’s 90th anniversary celebration, scheduled for 21 days Monday, Feb. 28 through Sunday, March 20, which includes an extra day and a concert-only performance by country music icon George Strait. Strait is set to perform on the final night, marking his 31st RODEOHOUSTON performance.

“What better way to celebrate the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s 90th anniversary than with a special, concert-only performance by the ‘King of Country’ music himself,” said Rodeo president and CEO Chris Boleman. “After a couple of particularly challenging years, our thousands of dedicated volunteers simply can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the Rodeo grounds for a Texas-sized celebration of Western heritage that will be well worth the wait.”

Strait’s full-length evening concert will be held in NRG Stadium on the final night of the 2022 Rodeo. There is no rodeo performance scheduled before the concert, however, all activities on the grounds, including shopping and dining areas, carnival, livestock and horse show competitions, and other exhibits and attractions at NRG Park, will be open to the public on March 20.

Individual tickets for Strait’s concert-only performance go on sale to the public Thursday, June 24. A limit of four tickets per person will be permitted. The remaining 2022 RODEOHOUSTON entertainer lineup will be announced once available.

Strait’s 2022 performance will mark his 31st performance at the Rodeo, since 1983. In 2019, Strait’s concert-only performance with special guests Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen broke the NRG Stadium attendance record with 80,108 fans. The NRG Stadium record is separate from the Paid Rodeo/Concert attendance records, as this was a concert-only performance with additional seats on the floor of the stadium. To date, Strait has entertained more than 1.7 million RODEOHOUSTON fans.

    GEORGE STRAIT AND THE RODEO
More than 35 years ago, George Strait debuted at RODEOHOUSTON as a newcomer to the country music scene. Since then, he has become a household name with 33 platinum or multi-platinum-selling albums, the most in all of country music, and 60 No. 1 singles — the most of any artist of any music genre in history. He is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, holds a GRAMMY® for Best Country Album with “Troubadour” and more than 60 music and entertainment industry awards.

In 1996, Strait was inducted into the RODEOHOUSTON Star Trail of Fame in recognition of his musical contributions to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He is one of only nine artists to receive this award since the first entertainer performance in 1942. In 2013, the first four-year Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo George Strait Scholarship was awarded through the Rodeo’s scholarship program in honor of his partnership and friendship with the Rodeo.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo promotes agriculture by hosting an annual, family-friendly experience that educates and entertains the public, supports Texas youth, showcases Western heritage and provides year-round educational support within the community. Since its beginning in 1932, the Rodeo has committed more than $500 million to the youth of Texas and education. The 2022 Rodeo is scheduled for Feb. 28 – March 20. The 2022 World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest is scheduled for Feb. 24 – 26. • SPECIAL GUESTS ANNOUNCED FOR BENEFIT CONCERT HEADLINED BY COUNTRY SUPERSTAR ALAN JACKSON.

Not only is Country Music icon Alan Jackson returning to his hometown next month to headline a special concert event benefitting relief efforts in Newnan, Georgia – he’ll be joined by a multi-talented lineup led by multi-platinum entertainer Chris Young, singer-songwriter-producer Caylee Hammack, singer-songwriter Adam Wright and country artist Brian Wright, the latter two both – like Jackson – Newnan natives.

Where I Come From: Tornado Benefit Featuring Alan Jackson takes place June 26 at Newnan’s Coweta County Fairgrounds (275 Pine Rd., Newnan GA, 30263). Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday, May 21 at 10:00am ET at AlanJacksonBenefit.com; ticket prices start at $49.99, and pre-sale opportunities are available. Detailed information regarding the concert is also available at AlanJacksonBenefit.com.

Chris Young brings over a decade of chart-topping hits to the stage as he joins Where I Come From. With eleven #1 songs, including “Losing Sleep,” “Sober Saturday Night,” “Think Of You,” and “I’m Comin’ Over” – not to mention the current Top-10 hit, “Famous Friends,” with Kane Brown – Young plays to capacity crowds; the Grammy, CMA and ACM-nominated entertainer was seen by over 400,000 people on his most recent headlining tour. Named one of Billboard’s Top 20 artists of the past decade, Young’s achievements also include membership – like Jackson – in the Grand Ole Opry. (Full bio and press photo HERE.)

Georgia native Caylee Hammack recently released her major label debut album, If It Wasn’t for You. Not only did she co-produce the project – she wrote or co-wrote every song on the album. Such potent women as Reba McEntire, Ashley McBryde and Tenille Townes lent their voices to the project. The ACM-nominated New Female Artist of the Year has also been joined by Jackson as a duet partner – he’s featured on her recording of “Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good.” (Full bio and press photo HERE.)

Two-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter-producer Adam Wright was born in Newnan, Georgia and maintains close ties to the community. His songs have been recorded by Jackson, as well as by Lee Ann Womack, Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks and John Legend. He has toured with Jackson, Womack and Loretta Lynn, among others. Wright’s new album, I Win, was released last fall. (Full bio and press photo HERE.)

“Big City” Brian Wright has been performing country music for nearly two decades. He finally gave up being a fan and decided to make his own brand of country music, a fresh sound all his own, rooted in the traditional country sounds that pay homage to his traditional country music heroes. Wright is also a Newnan native. (Full bio and press photo HERE).

Proceeds from Where I Come From: Tornado Benefit Featuring Alan Jackson will benefit the Coweta Community Foundation, which is managing charitable efforts to help the people of Newnan in the wake of the storm (more info below). Donations to the Foundation’s relief efforts can be made via their website.

On March 26th, an EF-4 tornado – just shy of the most-powerful ranking on the National Weather Service’s scale – ripped across Newnan…the city where Jackson and his wife, Denise were born, raised, met and married. At least 70 homes were completely destroyed, many others suffered major damage, and – all told – over 1700 structures were impacted and compromised.

“After the tornadoes came through Newnan I knew that I wanted to do what I could to help my hometown. I started working on an idea to do some kind of benefit in Nashville to help those affected in Newnan, but then heard from a group of leaders in Newnan,” Jackson stated when the event was officially announced earlier this week. “I’m glad we came up with a way to bring this show to my hometown…and I’m happy to be helping the people who need it most.”

Cornerstone Building Brands is the presenting sponsor of Where I Come From: Tornado Benefit Featuring Alan Jackson. The event is driven by Southtowne Chevrolet. Additional details are available at AlanJacksonBenefit.com.
