• CAYLEE HAMMACK PLANTS ROOTS FOR HER DEBUT SINGLE, “FAMILY TREE.”

Capitol Records’ Caylee Hammack makes a bold introduction with “Family Tree,” her debut single for Capitol Nashville, available at radio today. Hammack co-wrote and co-produced the”high-spirited, rollicking” (Variety) track that expertly ties together her fiery attitude and distinct vocals. Recently highlighted as one of 2019’s artists to watch by outlets such as The Bobby Bones Show and HITS Magazine and with over two million streams just weeks after introducing the song to fans, Hammack is quickly becoming one of Nashville’s most buzz-worthy new artists among fans, radio and critics with Billboard spotlighting her in a new profile out today.

“A dynamic singer and equally memorable songwriter, Hammack’s soulful vocals and descriptive lyrics shine on her debut single”  – Billboard

“Hammack writes with a keen sense of observation and clever lyrics…Country music needs a presence as commanding and steadfast as hers.”  Taste of Country

“Songs filled with smart, shit-kicking energy” – Rolling Stone

“Known for her mix of clever lyrics and haunting melodies” – Music Row

“She matches a rhythm-and-blues-inspired beat with soulful vocals and clever wordplay before entering a soaring, uplifting chorus laden with pop sensibilities.”  Sounds Like Nashville

The summer is heating up for Hammack as she claims upcoming slots with both Dierks Bentley and Brothers Osborne on their tours and will appear at some of country music’s biggest festivals including Tortuga, Country LakeShake, Faster Horses Festival and more.

    Background On Caylee Hammack
Caylee Hammack constantly felt like a self-described “hippie in a hillbilly town.” “I used to pray every night as a kid, ‘God, just please make me different. Don’t make me like everyone else,’” she remembers. Hammack is indeed refreshingly different. She’s a country expressionist, a grungy firebrand and a spiritual seeker. And at only 24, she has already packed a full life into just a few years, using fake IDs to get gigs around South Georgia, turning down a college scholarship for a love that burned out just a few months later, sleeping in her car when she arrived in Nashville and then losing her home in an electrical fire. “My dad has always said that the most beautiful and strongest things are forged in the fire,” she says. “Iron is nothing until you work it in a fire. Glass cannot be blown without intense heat. You can’t make anything beautiful or strong without a little heat.” Tested by the fire, Caylee Hammack has been molded into an artist with incredible depth and a powerhouse voice that can effortlessly veer from fiery and demanding to quiet and vulnerable. Her life experience and relentless curiosity have coalesced into a country cocktail that’s rooted in tradition but expands with shards of modern pop and rock. Her self-penned songs tug on her own life story – bad decisions, secret affairs, broken hearts, a quirky family lineage – as she invariably turns the lemons of her daring life into sonic lemonade. Caylee Hammack (Family Tree) OC: …is my story. :39
“‘Family Tree’ is really just me telling you about my family. I feel like this song is the roots for the rest of the record. This is a song that shows you my backstory, shows you a little bit about what makes me me. I feel like it’s so important to start with family, to introduce yourself to the world by saying these are the people that made me who I am; these are the people that I have to thank for this. I feel like it was very important to start with ‘Family Tree’ as a single. That’s the way you connect with people is through family and through feelings, and ‘Family Tree’ is my story.”

  • MADDIE & TAE SHARE DETAILS ABOUT THEIR NEW EP, ONE HEART TO ANOTHER, DUE APRIL 26TH.

Platinum-selling duo Maddie & Tae have been seeding fans with tastes of new music signaling a new chapter of fearlessness and sonic maturity, leading critics like Esquire to praise them for “their finest moment yet.” The duo unveiled details today with Associated Press for their upcoming EP One Heart To Another, available April 26th on Mercury Nashville.  Featuring five tracks, predominantly co-written by Maddie & Tae’s Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye, the highly-anticipated project represents stories of love, loss and redemption and is a snapshot of more music to come from the award-winning duo later this year. Preview the EP HERE.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/BvbwlBWheN3/

“This is much more than just a new project for us. It has been our light at the end of tunnel for the past two years. It is about two best friends experiencing this highest of highs, the lowest of lows, and everything in between together. We hope our fans hear the vulnerability, heart break, strength, truth and passion we’ve poured into this. This is only the beginning,” said Marlow.

“The journey to create this project was long, but beautiful,” added Dye. “We put our heads down and tried to be the best artists we could be. And to us that looked like writing lyrics from a very honest place and sharing them with the hopes that someone out in the world feels less alone. So here is One Heart to Another. From our hearts to yours.”

“Ushering in the new era” (Billboard), the EP features the flirty “Friends Don’t,” the woeful heartache of “Die From A Broken Heart,” which has tallied over 23 million streams already and “Tourist In This Town,” a song Music Row praises for its “spunk, vocal verve and tempo.” The swaggering kiss-off “New Dog, Old Tricks,” a winking, hip hop-inflected anthem that marks the first outside cut Maddie & Tae has recorded and vulnerable title track “One Heart To Another,” round out the boldly honest collection, which shows “a more sophisticated side” (Associated Press).

Maddie & Tae recently earned a Duo of the Year nomination for the upcoming 54th Academy of Country Music Awards making it their sixth career nomination from the ACM.  Tune in Sunday, April 7th for the broadcast live from Las Vegas on CBS at 8pm ET.  The duo is also gearing up to hit the road as part of Carrie Underwood’s Cry Pretty Tour 360, kicking off May 1st in Greensboro, N.C.

One Heart To Another Track List

    1.  Friends Don’t (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Jon Nite, Justin Ebach)
      2.  Die From A Broken Heart (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Jonathan Singleton, Deric Ruttan)
      3.  Tourist In This Town (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Barry Dean, Jimmy Robbins)
      4.  One Heart To Another (Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Jonathan Singleton, Deric Ruttan)
      5.  New Dog Old Tricks (Laura Veltz, Jesse Frasure, Emily Weisband)

Award-winning duo Maddie & Tae are drawing praise for their new music “anchored around their stellar vocal pairings and some of the tightest harmonies on Music Row (Rolling Stone). “The sound is identifiable while still representing a distinct step forward” (Billboard), giving fans a taste of what to expect from their highly-anticipated forthcoming debut on Mercury Nashville on April 26.  Maddie & Tae first broke out in 2013 with their brilliant take down of bro-country, “Girl In A Country Song,” which took Country radio by storm, skyrocketing to the top of the charts and quickly going PLATINUM. The duo became only the third female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay charts, also earning trophies from the Country Music Academy and Radio Disney Music Awards along with multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Award nominations. Receiving widespread praise from NPR, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, Glamour and others, country music’s hottest stars including Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice and Brad Paisley have welcomed Maddie & Tae on the road, with Carrie Underwood recently inviting the duo out as direct support on her 2019 Cry Pretty Tour 360 kicking-off in May. For additional information, visit www.maddieandtae.com.

Maddie & Tae (message thru music) OC: (Tae) …love it. :26
“I think that something Maddie and I want to say to people through our songs, especially through this new chapter of live, is that we’ve lived a lot of life in the past couple of years, but no matter what phase we go through, we always want to have that self-confidence and self-awareness to just go through any type of chapter life throws at us. We’ve had some ups and downs, but through it all we’ve just stayed ourselves and we’ve stayed true to our songwriting. And I think a lot of people are going to learn that about us, if they didn’t know it already, and hopefully love it.”

  • MICKEY GUYTON’S “HOLD ON” REVEALED AS NEXT AVAILABLE TRACK FROM STAR-STUDDED BREAKTHROUGH MOVIE SOUNDTRACK.

The recently announced star-studded album Breakthrough, music from and inspired by the highly-anticipated motion picture, is due April 5th on Mercury Nashville. With the pre-order, fans immediately receive “I’m Standing With You,” performed by lead actor Chrissy Metz, and now, also receive “Hold On,” co-written and performed by Mickey Guyton; both songs playing prominent roles in the feature film. Pre-order the album HERE.

“Hold On,” written by Mickey, Karen Kosowski, and Victoria Banks, is the first of new music to come from the Texas native.  Named as one of Country music’s “female game changers” by Billboard magazine, Mickey has been writing and recording new music this last year.

“Honestly, it was a God moment that this even happened,” shares Mickey.  “We had a brief synopsis of a scene in the movie, and 24 hours to turn in a song.  We took inspiration from the story, and our own personal experiences, and “Hold On” came together quickly.  I just feel so honored to be part of this film.  Chrissy Metz is magical and did an amazing job showing the love of a mother for her child.”

The soundtrack includes all original music and recordings from Adam Hambrick, Carrie Underwood, Chrissy Metz, Darius Rucker, Jukebox the Ghost, Lauren Alaina, Maddie & Tae, Mickey Guyton, Phil Wickham, Pigeon John, and Taylor Mosby plus special featured guests Kirk Franklin and Lecrae.

This soundtrack comes just ahead of Twentieth Century Fox’s April 17th release of the feature film Breakthrough. The movie, starring Chrissy Metz (This is Us), Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama), Topher Grace (That 70s Show), Sam Trammell (True Blood) and Dennis Haysbert (MAjor League 24, Allstate commercials), is based on the inspirational true story of one mother’s unfaltering love and faith in the face of impossible odds. Mickey Guyton (Hold On inspiration) OC: …came about. 1:13
“So, I had a meeting with my label telling them that I wanted to start writing for film and television. It’s just something I really wanted to do. And six months later, I’d got an email from them briefing me about a movie called Breakthrough and they needed a song for a specific scene. I knew nothing of the story, only that a kid fell through ice and wasn’t expected to make it through the night, and they needed a song specifically for that scene. All I kept thinking to myself I don’t have children, but what would I tell my child if I didn’t think they were going to make it. I happened to be writing with a woman that had two children. Her name is Victoria Banks, and I asked her, I said, ‘Victoria, what would you tell your daughters if you didn’t think that they were gonna survive the night?’ And she was like, ‘I would tell them to hold on.’ And that’s exactly where we wrote the song from, and we wrote the song basically as a prayer, because when you think that someone you love isn’t going to make it, the first thing you want to do is get on your knees and pray and let them know that you’re here and hold on to me. And that’s how it came about.”

Audio / Mickey Guyton felt overwhelmed when she heard her song “Hold On” in the new Breakthrough film.

Mickey Guyton (Hold on in the film) OC: …it’s crazy. :29
“When I heard ‘Hold On’ in the film, it was such a crazy, almost weird feeling. You hear your voice there and you’re like ‘Okay, that’s me.’ [laughs] and I didn’t exactly know how to feel about it. I love This Is Us and I see Chrissy Metz on the screen and then I hear my song in the background, and it was a really cool feeling and weird. I really felt weird. I just didn’t feel like it was me. It’s crazy.”

  • KASSI ASHTON RELEASES NEW SONG “PRETTY SHINY THINGS.”

Kassi Ashton, one of the most compelling rising stars in Nashville, has today released a new song entitled, “Pretty Shiny Things.” Produced by Luke Laird and co-written by Kassi and Emily Landis, the emotional ballad highlights Kassi’s incredible vocal talent and showcases a more raw and vulnerable side to her musical style. “Pretty Shiny Things” is available now on all digital streaming platforms HERE.

“Three years ago, this song was there for me in the middle of the night. Like a diary entry that was writing me, not me writing it,” says Kassi. “It has silently waited, given guidance, and reminded me that honest art is the best art. I’m honored to be passing it along to whoever needs it now.”

Coming up, Kassi is set to play a few festivals this summer to include: CMA Fest in Nashville, TN, LakeShake Fest in Chicago, IL, Hometown Rising in Louisville, KY and Country Concert in Ft. Loramie, OH.

    About Kassi Ashton
Kassi Ashton brought a whole new attitude of her own to country music upon arrival in 2017. The California, Missouri singer and songwriter initially touched down with a string of critically acclaimed tracks. Released by UMG Nashville in conjunction with Interscope, her introductory release “California, Missouri” stirred up widespread critical acclaim from Taste of Country, CMT, The Boot, and many more. As her profile grew, she lent her voice to the standout “Drop Top” on Keith Urban’s chart-topping 2018 album, Graffiti U. He went on to describe her as “such a unique, original creature.” Expanding on her confessional and catchy storytelling, she maintained momentum on the summer solo song “Taxidermy.”  Named “Who to Watch” by Huffington Post and The Tennessean, radio personality Bobby Bones included her among his Class of 2018. Rolling Stone lauded her as “a devilish songwriter who isn’t afraid to flip convention on its head,” and Refinery29 also claimed, “she blends pop aesthetics with a presence doused in no-fucks-left-to-give authenticity.” She continues to defy convention and define a signature style on the 2019 single “Violins”—and a whole lot more to come.

  • ACM AWARDS 2019: Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton goes into this year’s ACM Awards with six nominations (tied with Dan + Shay), including Entertainer of the Year. He’s also nominated twice, as both artist and producer, for Album of the Year for From A Room: Volume 2, an award he won last year for From A Room: Volume 1. Additionally, he’s up for Male Vocalist (which he won last year), as well as Song of the Year twice, as both artist and songwriter, for “Broken Halos,” for which he won the CMA Song of the Year Award in November.

He says he’s always surprised to hear his name called when it comes to awards. “These things are always fantastic to win, but when you get nominated or invited to these parties, in my estimation, you’ve already won and you’ve already gotten to be far beyond anything, you know, anybody who’s a musician could ever dream of getting to do, and we get to do that every day, we get to live it every day,” says the humble Kentucky native. “As far as thinking about going into anything, I’m always genuinely surprised to win anything, and I’m always grateful for it.”

At last year’s CMA Awards, he picked up awards for Single and Song of the Year for “Broken Halos,” which he co-wrote with his friend and mentor Mike Henderson, which made the wins so much sweeter. “It’s very meaningful for me because I do consider myself first and foremost a songwriter  and to get to do it with a man who was a mentor to me, Mike Henderson. You know a lot of things that I try to do on electric guitar or the ways I try to think lyrically or I try to get as much information, or he would call it secret knowledge, out of him as I can. So, to win awards with him means so very much to me that I’m not even sure I can describe it.”

The 54th Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire, will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas April 7th at 8pm ET/delayed PT on CBS.

In the meantime, Chris is poised to top the country charts with his latest song, “Millionaire.” This would be only his second time as an artist to have a No. 1 song. We’re pulling for ya, Chris!

“It’s extremely meaningful, because on paper and in chart performance and all those things, there were certainly more worthy songs in both categories, and I think that’s worth saying and noting. The flipside of that is it’s very meaningful for me because I do consider myself first and foremost a songwriter  and to get to do it with a man who was a mentor to me, Mike Henderson, you know a lot of things that I try to do on electric guitar or the ways I try to think lyrically or I try to get as much information, or he would call it secret knowledge, out of him as I can.
