• KEITH URBAN IN NEW PROMOTIONAL SPOT FOR ‘THE VOICE’ AUSTRALIA. (VIDEO)

Keith Urban is getting ready to begin his stint on the Australian version of The Voice. Below is the first commercial for the musical series, which will be shown down under.

Keith has always shown respect and sincere interest in the talents of others, and he’s very intrigued by the show’s concept. “It’s all about the voice, and I love the fact that we get to connect with that before everything else,” he explains. “I can’t see what these people look like; same as when I hear a song on the radio by a new artist, I don’t know what they look like.”

He’s joined by other coaches Seal, Good Charlotte‘s Joel Madden and Australian pop-star and actress Delta Goodrem. The show is set to begin later this year.

The Voice — both the U.S. and Australian versions — consists of three phases: the blind auditions, the battle phase and live performance shows. When choosing their teams, the coaches cannot see the singers, concentrating only on their voices.

In the meantime, Keith, who is closing in on the top of the country charts with “You Gonna Fly,” will take his own voice to Austin, Texas February 10th.

Dierks Bentley’s new album, Home, arrived in stores today (February 7th). • Dierks latest single, “Home,” is sitting at No. 7 on the country singles charts.

AUDIO: Dierks Bentley explains why he put “Am I the Only One” as the first track on his new album.

Dierks Bentley (AITOO 1st on album) OC: …the album. :42

“The first song that kinda is the key to this whole record is ‘Am I the Only One.’ This is the song that’s the bridge between Up on the Ridge, the bluegrass experience and then circling back around to what I do. Just a song I wrote with oddly enough the two guys that are really responsible, a big part of the two worlds I live in – one being Jim Beavers, who I’ve written a ton of songs like “Sideways” with and ‘How Am I Doin’.’ And then Jon Randall, who produced the Up on the Ridge record, the bluegrass record. So, the three of us got together, and it’s the only time we’ve gotten together to write a song, and that’s the song we wrote. [laughs] It’s been a huge song, as far as tying over the two projects, so I put it first ‘cause I just kinda think it sets the tone for the album.”

Dierks Bentley‘s new album, Home, is available beginning Tuesday (February 7th). The collection includes songs in a variety of styles, all of which make up who the Arizona native is as a musician. “One thing I tried to capture on it is a diversity of the music but it all falls within the confines of who I am as a country singer as far as loving the country sounds, the bluegrass sounds, loving some of the rock sounds and energy and mixing it all together on a record,” Dierks explains. “I think it’s all there so I think there’s a diversity of subject matter and sounds but in a way that it all kind of gels together pretty well and it’s a good description of who I am, musically.”

Dierks is currently sitting in the Top 10 on the country charts with the title cut of his new album, Home.

Catch the singer on the Today show this morning and tomorrow morning, performing songs from his new album.
