    Lady A (Music Fest) 1 OC: …the world. :15

“The electricity in LP Stadium every year for that is just, you can’t really beat it. I mean, it’s so much fun to be there, and to have a stadium full of the most die-hard country fans you could ever imagine, from all over the world.”

AUDIO: Eric Church talks about the CMA Music Festival.

Eric Church (CMA Music Fest) OC: …of music. :32

“Well, I think it’s what makes country music unique. Find me another format that happens in, it’s just not something that happens. I think it’s about what we were talking about earlier; country music is the one for mat where the fans, the music is really about them. And we’re them; we’re not different than them. We’re not a lot of the rock stars and a lot of the other guys where they’re their own person, they’re their own agenda. They’re not like the people that are listening to them. It’s different in country, we are. We come from there, we are that. I think it’s just a great thing for them to be able to come to our town and to get just this barrage of music.”

  • KEITH URBAN HITS THE BIG SCREEN! (AUDIO)

Keith Urban is taking his music to the big screen. He co-wrote “For You,” with pal Monty Powell for the new Navy SEAL action thriller, Act of Valor. The song, which will be featured during the film’s end credits, marking the first time the singer has written and recorded a song specifically for a movie. “I loved the challenge of writing for a film,” Keith said in a statement. “I’ve never done that before. After seeing Act Of Valor, my co-writer and I wanted to capture the essence of not only what these men and women do so extraordinarily [well], but how that relates to all of us. ‘Valor‘ shows us what they are willing to give their all for, which made me wonder, ‘What am I willing to give my life for?’” Act of Valor, which stars a group of active-duty Navy SEALs along with Roselyn Sanchez, Jason Cottle and Nestor Serrano, will hit theaters nationwide February 24th, while the soundtrack is set for release February 21st.

Keith is currently scaling the country singles charts with his latest, “You Gonna Fly.”

AUDIO: Keith Urban says he would love to act onscreen…some day.

Keith Urban (acting) OC: …my music. :15

“I was actually in a theater group when I was a kid for about three years. We did quite a few stage productions, which was really my starting board for learning how to perform on stage. So, I’d love to do some of that down the track. I wouldn’t want it to interfere with my music.”

The trio has already enjoyed two No. 1 singles from the Grammy-nominated album – “Just a Kiss” and “We Owned the Night” – and they’re starting to make the climb up the country chart with their latest, “Dancin’ Away With My Heart.” “More than anything with this record, I think we’re more proud of the record as a whole,” says Lady A’s Charles Kelley. “I think we feel we found our sound a little bit more, you know, just keep honing in on what kind of sound we want to represent.”

    • Luke Bryan’s tailgates & tanlines is No. 3 on the country album chart, while Eric Church’s Chief – which is also nominated for a Grammy – is at No. 7.

The song, which has already sold more than 800-thousand digital downloads, is the second single from Luke’s gold-certified album, tailgates & tanlines. Luke Bryan (I Don’t Want This Night to End) 2 OC: …over also. :21

“Obviously, the song is about a guy meeting a girl and kinda them having this connection right off the bat and just kinda getting lost in the country and with each other in the country. And certainly me being the singer, not wanting the night coming to an end because when you feel like the night’s over maybe this whole romance and thing is over also.”

  • ERIC CHURCH IS EXCITED FOR HIS SUPPORTERS. (AUDIO)

Eric Church is enjoying the biggest hit of his career! His latest single, “Drink in My Hand,” has climbed to No. 3 on the country charts, and not only is it exciting for him as an artist, but it’s also exciting for his staunch supporters. “I think the coolest thing is, as much validation and excitement as it is to have a song Top 5, a song Top 3 – all these are firsts for me – also I think it’s somewhat validation and excitement from some of the radio folks that believed in me early on,” says Eric. “I know who they are. We’ve had talks, we have great relationships, and they were there for me when it was very unpopular, or maybe uncool to be there for me. They stuck their neck out. And to look back at it now where we are and to have a chance to have a No. 1 song and especially the momentum of the career, it makes me feel good to know that, and I hope makes them feel good that they believed early on and they stayed the course. They never abandoned me.” “Drink in My Hand” is the second single from Eric’s album, Chief.

    • Eric will perform “Drink in My Hand” during his Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour, which kicks off January 19th in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Eric Church (having a hit song) OC: …from theirs. :51

“I think the coolest thing is as much validation and excitement as it is to have a song Top 5, a song Top 3 – all these are firsts for me – also I think it’s somewhat validation and excitement from some of the radio folks that believed in me early on. I mean, I know who they are. They never abandoned me. They stayed there, and to have this moment that we can try to have a No. 1 song and then go from there with what’s left on this record. It feels good from my standpoint in the way it happened, and I hope it feels good from theirs.”

“If I ask(ed) advice to like newlyweds, most of them have literally said, ‘At a point during the reception, sneak away, the two of you sneak away and hide behind a wall and look through a window and just observe what’s going on and just see everyone enjoying it and having a great time. It’s like to have that visual, to have that mental picture for the rest of your life.’”

It was just learning how to compromise, and I feel like after that, it really got just easy. And so, just be patient and love each other [sings “as hard as you can love…’].” HILLARY: “[laughs] Oh, boy!”

  • ERIC CHURCH WILL SHOWCASE THE MUSIC ON HIS ‘BLOOD, SWEAT & BEERS’ ON TOUR! (AUDIO)

Eric Church heads into rehearsals this week for his first headlining arena tour, and while it’s going to be slightly bigger and bolder than his previous outings, don’t expect the production to overtake the music. “The trick’s gonna be still keeping it about the music, still keeping that, you know, what we do this for, and the passion and impart that to the crowd, but at the same time, trying to make sure the people way back in the back of the arena in some of these places can feel the same energy as the people down front,” says the “Drink in My Hand” singer. “So, we’ve got some plans as how to do that, and I think a lot of it still comes down to how the people relate to the music, as opposed to how many things I can blow up and set on fire.”

    • The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour, which also features newcomer Brantley Gilbert, is set to kick off January 19th in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
    • Eric’s latest hit, “Drink in My Hand,” is closing in on the top spot on the country charts. It’s the second single from his No. 1 album, Chief.
    • Chief is nominated for Best Country Album at this year’s Grammy Awards, which will air live beginning at 8pm ET February 12th on CBS.

AUDIO: Eric Church explains what fans should expect on his upcoming Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour.

Eric Church (arena tour 2012) OC: …set on fire. :29

“This tour’s gonna be different than any other tour, just because it’s an arena tour. It’s our first headline arena tour, so the trick’s gonna be still keeping it about the music, still keeping that, you know, what we do this for, and the passion and impart that to the crowd, but at the same time, trying to make sure the people way back in the back of the arena in some of these places can feel the same energy as the people down front. So, we’ve got some plans as how to do that, and I think a lot of it still comes down to how the people relate to the music, as opposed to how many things I can blow up and set on fire.”
