KEITH URBAN IS INDUCTED INTO THE NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME.

Keith Urban was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame on Wednesday (October 11th), along with Kix BrooksDavid Lee Murphy, Casey Beathard and Rafe Van Hoy. The iconic Dolly Parton officially inducted him, while his “brother from another planet,” Eric Church performed Keith’s hit, “Who Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me,” with his own twist to the song.

Keith very nearly missed the call inviting him to become a member of the Hall of Fame. ““Mark from the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame called me. I was in the studio,” he recalls.”I didn’t recognize the number, so I ignored it. He called again, and I think I ignored it a second time. (laughs) And then my manager called me and said, ‘Somebody’s trying to get a hold of you. Can you just answer that number? Answer it a third time?’ And he told me that I’d been invited to join the family, as it were.”

During the aforementioned call, Keith had a surreal moment of reflection of when he first came to Nashville to pursue his dreams. “I love that – A – I was in the studio making music, writing, creating,” he says. “It’s the perfect place to be to get that kind of call, but also I was at Backstage Studios and I was at the back door of it which overlooks, from that back door, you can just see the edges of what used to be Shoney’s on Demonbreun, and that’s where I stayed on my very, very first trip here to Nashville was in a tiny little room downstairs on the outside of it. And I was looking over it thinking how long it had been from there to standing in this stop getting this call, and yet also the proximity was sort of metaphorically not that far either, like time has just evaporated. It was no time at all, so it was quite surreal.”

Keith’s Las Vegas residency returns to the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on November 1st and runs through November 18th.

KYLIE MORGAN’S DEBUT FULL-LENGTH ALBUM, MAKING IT UP AS I GO, OUT NOW.

With 400 million global streams, a CMT Music Awards nomination, and a successful headline tour highlighting 2023, EMI Records Nashville singer-songwriter Kylie Morgan marks another milestone with the release of her debut full-length album, Making It Up As I Go, available everywhere today.

https://twitter.com/kyliemorgan/status/1712785863065620829

“I hope that when people hear this album, they self-reflect and love themselves in the current state they’re in,” shares Kylie. “I hope anyone who is listening sees themself within these songs and that it serves as the soundtrack to your journey. Along the way, I hope you find the words that you may not know how to say through the music. ’Cause if we’re all being honest…we’re just making it up as we go.”

Celebrating today’s release, Kylie is sharing the music video for “Country Girl,” the album’s amped-up ode to the boys on the backroads.

Kylie wrote or co-wrote each of the project’s 12 tracks, teaming up with some of Music Row’s most promising songwriters. Her bold breakout single, “If He Wanted To He Would,” set the stage for her debut album, as the title track “Making It Up As I Go” helped inform its direction. Introspective on “A Few Hearts Ago” and the confessional solo write “Quarter Life Crisis,” Kylie also shares anthems of female empowerment including “Ladies First” and the clever tongue-in-cheek “Sugar Daddy,” painting strong women as the lead characters in her songs. On the emotive “Class Rings” and autobiographical album closer “Old Me,” Kylie recounts her past with the wisdom of an older sister looking out for her younger self.

Kylie Morgan (album story) OC: …chapter you’re on. :38
Making It Up As I Go” is so special to me for so many special reasons. First of all, it’s my debut album. I’ve been working on this album all my life, but I really wanted to focus on the theme that I am in my life right now, which is a lot of different chapters. And all growing up I felt like I should’ve already been an adult. I felt like I was 28 by the time I was 13, to be honest, and now that I’m an adult and I’ve been doing what I’ve been doing for so long, now I just want to flashback to being a kid. So, I wrote this album for the in-betweeners, and I know that it’s so easy to get caught up in where you’re going and what you want to do, but I hope this is a soundtrack to whatever chapter you’re on.”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD CANNOT PICK JUST ONE FAVORITE GEORGE STRAIT SONG.

Carrie Underwood is like the rest of us when it comes to King George. She is unable to pick a favorite George Strait song — they’re ALL her favorites.

“I don’t think I can pick out a favorite George Strait song,” she says. “He’s one of those artists that I feel like I’ve been listening to for my entire life who’s just always been around. But a few favorites – ‘Baby Blue,’ ‘The Chair,’ ‘Amarillo By Morning,’ ‘Ocean Front Property,’ ‘All My Exes Live in Texas.’ Yeah, I mean, the list goes on and on.”

Carrie joins headliner George Strait at the fourth annual ATLive next week. The two-day music festival kicks off on Friday (October 20th) with an all-Latin lineup, including Grupo Firme, J Balvin, Farruko and Yahritza Y Su Esencia, followed by an all-star country lineup on Saturday (October 21st) with George, Carrie, Willie Nelson and Little Big Town.

Carrie is currently making her way up the country charts with her latest single, “Out Of That Truck,” from the Deluxe Edition of her album Denim & Rhinestones.

She returns to her Las Vegas residency at Resorts World November 29th.

AWARD-WINNING ARTIST JON PARDI AND FIVE-TIME ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR LUKE BRYAN RELEASE NEW MUSICAL COLLABORATION, “COWBOYS AND PLOWBOYS.”

ACM and CMA Award-winning artist Jon Pardi and Five-time Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan today released their new collaboration, “Cowboys and Plowboys.” Written by Rhett Akins, Jacob Rice and Cole Taylor, “Cowboys and Plowboys” was initially teased by both Pardi and Bryan online this week, and is out everywhere now. The newest single from Pardi premiered on country radio today, with an official impact date of Monday, October 16th.

“I’ve always looked up to Luke as a songwriter and an artist, and he’s a great friend. We’ve been on tour together and he’s been someone that has inspired me along the way and always had my back. We’ve been excited to put this song out for a long time, and I can’t wait for people to hear it,” said Jon.

“When the writers sent this song I couldn’t stop listening to it and I’m so glad it worked out for Pardi to be the one I got to sing it with,” said Luke. “He is one of the most genuine artists I know. What you see is truly what you get and I respect what he continues to build.”

The single marks the first new music from singer/songwriter/producer Pardi since his latest critically-acclaimed album, Mr. Saturday Night. Pardi recently kicked off the North American leg of the Mr. Saturday Night World Tour in Knoxville, TN, and will next head to Brookings, SD, Omaha, NE, and St. Louis, MO starting October 19th. After being invited by Country legend Alan Jackson in a surprise moment on stage during Stagecoach, Pardi is set to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on October 24th as the first native Californian to ever do so ahead of the release of his debut Christmas album, Merry Christmas From Jon Pardi, on October 27th. Named a “hero in the making” (Variety), Pardi has earned six No. 1s on country radio to date and is noted for his “long-lasting mark on the genre” (MusicRow) and his impressive ability to carve out his own path creating “the kind of country music multiple generations came to know, and love can still wok on a mass scale” (Variety).

On November 8th, Luke and NFL superstar Peyton Manning will return to host “The 57th Annual CMA Awards” to be broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena (8:00-11:00 PM/EST) on ABC. And in 2024, Luke, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie will return as celebrity judges for their seventh season on ABC’s American Idol.

“It’s about, well, cowboys and plowboys. It’s a fun song about two jobs that have a lot of the same thing, and it’s kind of an anthem. So, I’m pretty excited about it. Two things I do like is cowboying and farming and all that good stuff. So, it’s definitely a song that Luke Bryan and I needed to sing.”

Kylie Morgan will release her debut album, Making It Up As I Go, on Friday, October 13th.

She previously said in describing the collection, “This album is for the in-betweeners. The ones who pretend to have it all figured out but are still finding out where they want to go, who they want to be, and how to get there. Whether you’re a child who’s supposed to feel like a teenager, a teenager who’s supposed to feel like a grown up or a grown up that still feels like a child. We’re all just doing our best and I hope this is the soundtrack to your journey. Cause if we’re all being honest… we’re just makin’ it up as we go.”

“I hope my fans take away a lot of things from this album,” says Kylie. “Continuing to release very honest and real songs, I feel like has made me find the group of fans that have, that I just felt so close to, and that’s what I’m continuing to do on this. It’s from perspectives that they haven’t heard. It’s about subject matters that I have talked about, but also from new perspectives AND about subject matters that I even haven’t addressed yet because I just now lived it in my life. So I hope they take away nothing but honesty, transparency, and I hope that they can find a piece of this album that relates to the chapter of the life that they’re in right now.”

Kylie’s debut album follows the success of her bold breakout track “If He Wanted To He Would,” which is included on the project, along with recent releases “A Few Hearts Ago” and “Sugar Daddy.” The 12-song track list features two self-penned songs, plus co-writes alongside Music Row’s most promising songwriters. Kylie’s signature vulnerable storytelling combines with empowering anthems, for a refreshing relatability that meets fans right where they are, in any stage of life.

KEITH URBAN, KIX BROOKS, DAVID LEE MURPHY, CASEY BEATHARD AND RAFE VAN HOY ARE INDUCTED INTO THE NASHVILLE SONGWRTIERS HALL OF FAME.

The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame (NaSHOF) welcomed six new members into its ranks last night as the Class of 2023 was officially honored at the organization’s 53rd Anniversary Gala.  The musical contributions of the newest inductees were celebrated through star-studded performances of some of their biggest songs for the capacity crowd at Nashville’s Music City Center.

The Class of 2023:  Casey Beathard and David Lee Murphy in the contemporary songwriter category; Rafe Van Hoy in the veteran songwriter category, Keith Urban in the contemporary songwriter/artist category and Kix Brooks in the veteran songwriter/artist category.

The event traditionally features some of music’s most talented artists performing songs from the inductees’ impressive catalogs, and this year’s line-up was no exception.

Inductee Casey Beathard was presented to the audience by Hall of Fame member Buddy Cannon, and superstar Eric Church, along with Joanna Cotten, performed “Like Jesus Does,” a platinum-selling song for the artist.

John Conlee then took the stage to honor inductee Rafe Van Hoy.  Conlee performed his classic “Lady Lay Down,” one of several chart toppers penned for him by Van Hoy, who was presented by Hall of Fame member Bobby Braddock.

Hall of Fame member Bob DiPiero presented inductee Kix Brooks, and award-winning recording artist Cody Johnson performed the Brooks & Dunn smash, “Only In America,” written by Brooks.

Superstar Kenny Chesney performed “Living In Fast Forward,” one of several No. 1 hits written for him by inductee David Lee Murphy, who was presented by Hall of Fame member Craig Wiseman.

Closing the evening’s festivities, Eric Church took the stage once more, this time to salute inductee Keith Urban, with Urban’s self-written #1 “Who Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me.”  Music icon Dolly Parton, herself a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, presented Urban.
