Alan Jackson is set to headline the benefit concert, “Where I Come From,” on Saturday (June 26th) to help raise funds for his hometown, which was impacted by spring tornadoes. The show will help citizens of Newnan, Georgia, which was devastated by a powerful EF-4 tornado on March 26th. Alan and his wife Denise were born and raised in Newnan. His portion of the show will stream live on his Facebook page beginning at 8:30pm ET.

Alan Jackson and Mickey Guyton are set to perform during A Capitol Fourth on the Fourth of July on PBS beginning at 8pm ET. Vanessa Williams, Gladys Knight, Jimmy Buffett, Jimmie Allen and Train are also among the stars performing during the special.

The effort to help his tornado-ravaged hometown that’s at the center of this month’s Where I Come From: Tornado Benefit Concert Featuring Alan Jackson continues to expand as organizers announce an exclusive partnership with Facebook to livestream Jackson’s performance at the sold-out event on June 26th.

Jackson is headlining the event in his hometown of Newnan, Georgia to assist those impacted by an EF-4 tornado that ripped through the town in March. Proceeds from Where I Come From: Tornado Benefit Featuring Alan Jackson will benefit the Coweta Community Foundation’s Tornado Relief Fund. The event at the Coweta County Fairgrounds in Newnan sold out within hours of going on sale, but organizers continue to encourage donations to the fund via the Foundation’s website.

The livestream of the concert will be exclusively available on Facebook Live, and will not only allow anyone who missed out on a ticket to virtually attend, but will create nationwide and global awareness of the event and opportunities for people all over the world to offer support. Caylee Hammack is on cloud nine after receiving the news that country superstar Alan Jackson wrote a song based on a letter she sent to him thanking him for recording a duet with her on a cover of the Don Williams’ classic “Lord I Hope This Day Is Good.” In the letter, she said for a man that never cries, her daddy was crying happy tears after listening to her daughter and the iconic Alan Jackson sing together.

His team didn’t really know that he wrote it about that until he was talking about the songs on the record. “The truth be known, the hook came from a young artist that’s on my label, a girl named Caylee Hammack,” says Alan. “She wanted to record this old Don Williams song, ‘Lord I Hope This Day Is Good.’ And I love that song and I love Don anything. And so, I agreed to sing it with her and it’s her record…and she’s a great singer. She sounded beautiful on it. And after we had recorded it she sent me a nice gift or two and a letter and the letter was – she’s from Georgia, like I am from somewhere up north of Atlanta – that she had taken the rough track we had sent her and played it for her daddy who is probably my age. But he was a big fan of mine and this was in the letter that she played it for him and he…yeah, I guess he teared up about it and she just thought it was really something from a man who never cries. And I thought I need to write that.”

Caylee’s team just sent over the song and said they wanted her reaction caught on camera. Little did she know the song was based on her father. “I listened to the song, and I just fell in love with the song and it made me think of my dad. Well, I’m already excited to listen to a (new) Alan Jackson song but I don’t know why I’ve gotten the chance to,” says Caylee. “I called the team and I tell them it reminds me of my dad, but why did he send it? They explain to me that this was inspired by a letter that I had written Alan Jackson and a line specifically about my dad, a man that never cries but crying happy tears when he heard our version of ‘Lord I Hope This Day is Good.’ It just blew me away to be completely honestly. I didn’t even know to wish for this, but still it’s just a dream come true. I’m so grateful to Alan Jackson, Mr. Jackson, I don’t know what I should call him just yet, but I am so very grateful. He made my dad’s day, once again.”

Country superstar Alan Jackson releases his first album of all new music in six years today. Where Have You Gone features 21 songs – 15 of them written by the Songwriters Hall of Fame member himself. It’s his 16^th studio album – the 25^th in a career that includes two Christmas albums, two gospel albums, three Greatest Hits collections, a bluegrass album, and one boxed set. Longtime producer Keith Stegall again plays that role on Where Have You Gone.

“Some of the greatest tracks I feel like we’ve made. We pulled in guys from that played on my record for 20, 30 years and came in there and they’re some of the best real country players in town and they hadn’t had a chance to play on a lot of real country stuff in the last few years as much and they were excited to do it,” says Alan. “I was overwhelmed by it.  First time (Keith Stegall) sent me three tracks I hadn’t heard anything since the studio ,and I about had to pull my truck over I was about to tear up because I just loved the way it all sounded, the songs and the tracks and everything was just what I wanted to do.”

On Sunday, May 30, Jackson will appear as part of the National Memorial Day Concert on PBS (8:00pm ET). Led by the self-penned title track, Where Have You Gone is highlighted by such songs as the poignant and thoughtful “Things That Matter,” the heartache-filled “Way Down in My Whiskey” and the tender “I Can Be That Something.” Never one to shy away from reflecting real life in his music, “You’ll Always Be My Baby” and “I Do” were written for his daughters’ weddings…while “Where Her Heart Has Always Been” was written for his mother’s funeral and includes a recording of her reading from The Bible.
