• JORDAN DAVIS NO.1 MOST ADDED AT COUNTRY RADIO WITH NEW SINGLE “SLOW DANCE IN A PARKING LOT.”

Jordan Davis earns the No.1 most added song at country radio this week with his new single “Slow Dance In A Parking Lot,” listen HERE. The sentimental track was written by Jordan along with Lonnie Lee Fowler and follows Jordan’s back-to-back No.1 hit singles “Singles You Up” as well as “Take It From Me.” Jordan co-wrote all three tracks included on his debut album, Home State, which continues to accumulate impressive sales and streaming numbers, nearing 500M total streams, since its release last March.

Jordan is set to perform “Slow Dance In A Parking Lot” on ABC’s Strahan and Sara this Thursday, April 25 as critics and fans continue to praise the song. MusicRow notes, “the result is dreamy thanks to his extraordinary vocal warmth and an ultra romantic lyric.”

“‘Slow Dance In A Parking Lot’ is a really special song on my album,” says Jordan. “Getting to relive Lonnie’s first date with his wife in the writing room that day was pretty cool. We’ve been getting a great reaction when we play it during our live show so I’m really excited for fans to hear it on the road this summer.”

The Louisiana native just won Best New Country Artist at the iHeart Radio Music Awards after previously being named Billboard’s Top New Country Artist of 2018 in addition to Country Aircheck/Mediabase’s Most Heard New Artist of 2018. Jordan was recently nominated for ACM New Male Artist of the Year after winning MusicRow’s Breakout Artist of the Year. In addition, he is currently nominated for Nashville Artist-Writer of the Year at the upcoming AIMP Awards.

Jordan is now on the road with Old Dominion as part of the “Make It Sweet Tour” with upcoming stops in Boise, ID, Reno, NV and San Jose, CA. The singer/songwriter will perform at Stagecoach Festival this Sunday (April 28th) and will next join Rascal Flatts on the “Summer Playlist Tour” starting this June. Jordan Davis (Slow Dance in a Parking Lot) OC: …in there. 1:12
“We kind of relieved Lonnie’s [Fowler] first date with his wife. He started talking about how I think they went to a movie, and then on the way home Garth Brooks came on the radio, they pulled over into a parking lot and started slow dancing. You read the title and that’s it, like where do you go other than the fact that these people are eventually gonna end up be slow dancing in a parking lot? So, I think for me one of the reasons why that title just jumped out to me is alright we’re giving them what this song is about from jump street. You read the track listing — ‘Slow Dance In A Parking Lot,’ that’s whats gonna happen. How do we bring in the real-life end of this and make people wanna listen to it again? The only way to do it was we got Lonnie talking and we kind of put that night into a song, and I know it means a lot to him. That’s another one too that I feel like the phrasing on that song is something that is unique to who I am, you know? I almost kind of ramble on it, but I still feel like through the rambling you get the feeling of… and the verses and you set it up right. One of my favorite parts about that song is the fact we got a rent-a-cop in it, I don’t even know if they like being called rent-a-cops but [laughs] we definitely got that in there.”

Jordan Davis is scheduled to perform on ABC’s Good Morning America for the first time on Wednesday (March 20th). “That’s the text message that kind of gives you chill bumps when you look and see you’re getting a chance to do something like Good Morning America,” says the Louisiana native. “To be honest with ya, in the eyes of my grandmother, I’ve officially made it. In her eyes, I’m on GMA, I might as well be in the Musicians Hall of Fame over here, you know?”

Kacey Musgraves (Space Cowboy inspiration) OC: …include that. 1:20
“The inspiration for ‘Space Cowboy’ was actually triggered by something that my horseback riding teacher, Lori, said to me one day. We were out at the arena and we were watching this stallion go totally crazy in the arena just galloping from one end to the other, just kind of losing its mind and being really reckless and really powerful. I watched it come charging toward me, and I was standing on the other side of the gate, and Lori was screaming at me, ‘Back up, back up! Move out of the way!’ And I really didn’t think anything of it. I said, ‘I’m on the other side of the gate. The gate’s closed. It doesn’t matter.’ She said, ‘Girl-when they wanna go, they’re gonna go. There ain’t no sense in closing the gate.’ That made a big impression on me and I wrote it down, and then ‘Space Cowboy’ came a couple of days later when I wrote it with Shane McAnally and Luke Laird. It just seemed to kind of apply itself in a metaphorical sense to a narrative that I’ve found myself in many times in my life. It’s a narrative that a lot of people I know can relate to. So, this song was very important song for me to include on the album, because though I am in a really happy place now, it’s not always been that way and it was important for me to include that.”

Audio / Luke Bryan describes what makes him country.

Luke Bryan (what makes him country) OC: …small town. :37
“I think that what makes me country is where I was raised — Leesburg, Georgia — how I was brought up saying ‘Yes sir,’ ‘No sir,’ ‘Yes, ma’am,’ ‘No, ma’am,’ hopefully with manners and raised with a work ethic and raised in the outdoors fishing and hunting and playing sports. But yeah, I would say definitely it starts with my small-town upbringing and how we were raised; church on Sundays as much as we could. But just enjoying life and living life in a small town.”

  • JORDAN DAVIS GIVES SOUND ADVICE FOR FIRST-TIMERS AT MARDI GRAS.

Jordan Davis, who just served as the Grand Marshal for the Krewe of Centaur parade, grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and since he’s experienced Mardi Gras pretty much every year of his life, he’s got a lot of advice for those attending for the first time.

“My main piece of advice is everybody needs to experience New Orleans at least once,” says Jordan. “Another piece is just pace yourself. It is pretty much a month-long party, so just pace yourself, try to stay hydrated that’s not alcohol, have a blast and catch a bunch of beads. Get a sign – that’s another piece of advice. If you’re really going after beads, get something that catches their eyes. Also, when it comes to making signs, best advice, make it a hoop, ‘cause if you have somebody on a float, if they have something to throw at, you’re gonna get a ton more beads.”

The Louisiana native just scored his second No. 1 song this week with “Take It From Me.” Jordan is also nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at next month’s ACM Awards, which will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas April 7th at 8pm ET on CBS.

  • JORDAN DAVIS SCORES HIS SECOND NO. 1 SONG WITH “TAKE IT FROM ME.”

Jordan Davis has topped the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart with “Take It From Me,” which he co-wrote with his brother Jacob Davis and Jason Gantt. Jordan says no one knows him better as a songwriter or an artist than Jacob, and it’s been a goal for the two brothers to have a song go to No. 1.

“I know what he’s really good at, and I think he knows what I’m stronger at when it comes to writing. One of the best things too is we both know who we are as artists and we both know what we would sing and what we wouldn’t sing. I mean, there’s nobody that knows me better as an artist or as a writer than Jacob. And so, it helps a ton, and it was a goal of ours to have a song out, have a single together and have it top the charts. It’s been a really, really fun ride to watch this song climb.”
