Maddie and Tae‘s Maddie Marlow has been getting help from her husband-to-be on planning their upcoming nuptials, and says Jonah (Font) has been a huge help to her, along with her wedding planner, which she says has made the process much easier and less stressful.
“He, like overall, he just takes it. He’ll be like, ‘I’ll take care of it. Don’t worry.’ But we did this together. We did a lot of the (planning). We really had a blast, like everyone says, ‘It’s gonna be so stressful,’ and it was before we had a wedding planner. So, my suggestion to all brides is to get a wedding planner, ‘cause we had fun, right? (Jonah agrees off-mic) Like the catering thing was so awesome, and they sent us a gigantic to-go box of food, all of the food that we didn’t eat, so we had leftovers for like three days and it was delicious. So, yeah, it’s been really, really good.”
Maddie & Tae, who are on the road with Carrie Underwood, are making their way up the country charts with “Die From a Broken Heart.” The ladies are also releasing their new EP, Everywhere I’m Goin’, on Friday (October 18th).

The EP follows widespread praise for the album’s first part shared earlier this year, propelling critics to note, “a more sophisticated side” (Associated Press) and “their finest moment yet” (Esquire), and is a continuation of stories of love, loss and redemption. The project features the effervescent title track and “Trying On Rings,” which is a true-to-life reflection for Marlow and her fiancé. “We are so excited to keep telling our story through this next collection of songs,” shared Marlow. “We are so proud to have co-written all of these songs as well. This project as a whole is super personal, but these five songs in particular take you on an even deeper dive into our lives.”
“We were absolutely blown away by the reaction to the first part of the album,” added Dye. “Hearing our fans relate to our stories is something that will never get old. We can’t wait to continue to show more of our hearts and journey through this next chapter of music.”

Maddie & Tae are getting ready to head out on the next leg of The Cry Pretty Tour 360 with Carrie Underwood and are heading up the country charts with their current song, “Die From a Broken Heart.”
Maddie & Tae just premiered the behind-the-scenes footage of their video, “Die From a Broken Heart” on People.com. The official video, which just went live a few days ago, already has close to a 1.1 million views, and when fans do a deeper dive into the BTS, they’ll soon discover just how true-to-life the actual video is for Tae Dye, one member of the duo, who suffered a heartbreak just two weeks prior to writing the tune with partner Maddie Marlow, Jonathan Singleton and Deric Ruttan. “Everyone is about to get a front-row seat to my biggest heartbreak,” says Tae, adding, “and I’m terrified.”
Director Carlos Ruiz brought the idea to the pair with Tae acting out the story of the song with Maddie as the “musical narrator.” While the clip doesn’t necessarily echo the reality of Tae’s breakup, the duo did offer up some suggestions.
“This is the most hands on we’ve ever been with a treatment,” says Maddie. “We kinda had the bones, and then we just filled in all the rest. And it was really cool because Carlos (Ruiz) was really kind to let us kind of recreate everything and kind of switch around some things and make it a little more personal. So, it was really cool to get to collaborate together and make this song come to life visually.” Click here for more audio from M&T on making the video for “Die From a Broken Heart.”
The pair has a few dates before rejoining Carrie Underwood and Runaway June on the next leg of the Cry Pretty Tour 360 September 10th in San Diego.

On the heels of their “achingly poignant” (Sun-Sentinel) current single “Die From A Broken Heart” mounting over 50 MILLION streams, PLATINUM-selling duo Maddie & Tae are sharing the heart-bending official music video today at 3pm CT with a live chat and viewing on YouTube. In line with the “raw, vulnerable” (The Huffington Post) track, the video’s powerful treatment was predominately written by the award-winning duo, taking fans on a crushing journey through the demise of a young couple’s relationship with Maddie and Tae’s Taylor Dye stepping into the acting chair, while Maddie Marlow sets the scene narrating with striking vocals in the Carlos Ruiz-directed video.
“We knew that with a song like ‘Die From a Broken Heart,’ the music video needed to come from that same vulnerability and that’s exactly what we did,” Taylor Dye shared. “We went back and forth with our director Carlos Ruiz for weeks just trying to make sure we had all the tools to make this story come to life. This music video was healing for me and I hope it plays a part in someone else’s healing as well.”
“Fans can expect to see a completely different side to me,” says Taylor Dye. “I’ve never been the kind of gal who wears her heart on her sleeve, but this is the moment where I just let it all, let it all HANG OUT, BABY!”
“It’s very emotional. It’s probably the most emotional video we’ve ever filmed, and I’m just so proud,” says Maddie Marlow. “Tae just killed it. We’re getting an agent like stat, because she was so good. Yeah. I can’t wait. I hope people can feel the emotion that was put in the song and to the video.”

Maddie & Tae (DFABH video emotions) OC: (Tae) …feel something. :49 MADDIE: “My role in this is kind of being the narrator and watching my best friend go through kind of like how this inspiration started for this song. So, we just both really, really dug into the like just lowest, lowest parts of our (TAE: “Heartache.”). It was tricky, ‘cause I was like I have to be really, really emotional and I feel bad all the camera guys, especially with Tae’s scenes, they’re just like, you could see their eyes welling up watching her and watching me crying.” TAE: “My parents just happened to be in town when we were shooting, so I was like, ‘When else are you gonna be in town when we’re making music videos, so you have to come,’ cause they’ve never seen it. They came and one specific scene – I’m not gonna say what it is – but it made both of my parents cry. And I walked out and my mom had a red nose and my dad’s like, ‘I wasn’t crying. I wasn’t crying.’ (MADDIE: “Awwwwww.”) And I was like, ‘Oh no.’ Well, if it makes my parents cry, hopefully it’ll makes people feel something.”
Maddie & Tae will release the emotional video for “Die From a Broken Heart” on Thursday at 4pm ET/3pm CT. Check back later for audio from the duo on the emotions that went into the clip.
