  • JON PARDI’S “AIN’T ALWAYS THE COWBOY TOUR” SETLIST TAKES CLUES FROM FANS.

Jon Pardi has been criss-crossing the country on his Ain’t Always The Cowboy Tour with special guests Lainey Wilson and Hailey Whitters, and he’s been having a blast.

“The ‘Ain’t Always The Cowboy Tour’ has been awesome! We’ve been selling out. It’s been amazing, just like a dream come true. Every time we get on stage, we have a blast,” says Jon. “I’m definitely getting my touring legs back, you know, I’ve been playing 100 minutes every night. Voice is holding up; that’s good. Putting a setlist together, that is really difficult. We’ve got a lot of songs but we try to look for little clues from fans on what they want to hear, and checking out streaming and all the things, but we definitely play our big singles and what we want to play. I don’t know. We love performing all the songs. If we could play three hours, we would, but sometimes we really can’t, so Thank you everybody who came out to the ‘Ain’t Always The Cowboy Tour,’ and we’ll see you on the next stop.”

He heads to Lampe, Missouri (Friday, 8/19) and Terre Haute, Indiana (Saturday, 8/20) this weekend.

Jon is closing in on the top of the country charts with his latest single, “Last Night Lonely,” which is from his upcoming album Mr. Saturday Night.

Audio / CARRIE UNDERWOOD TALKS ABOUT BEING A PART OF SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL.

Carrie Underwood (loves being a part of SNF) OC: …my whole life. :54
“I love being the voice of Sunday Night Football because I grew up watching football…from birth. I’m from Oklahoma – we’re a football state. It’s just a part of the country that everybody has their teams and there’s such an energy about it. We would drive down to Dallas and watch the Cowboys play whenever we could. There’s just something about being at a live sporting event or watching it on TV. You have your favorites. They have their rivals. There’s an excitement to it that really, it’s unlike anything else, so being a small part of that is absolutely amazing. It’s been so wonderful working with everybody at SNF, and I count myself very lucky and very blessed that I get to be a small part of something that I’ve loved my whole life.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE’S JOHN AND TJ TAKE A TRIP “DOWN HOME.”

Brothers Osborne‘s John and TJ Osborne grew up in Deale, Maryland, and they were recently playing a show in nearby Solomon. The pair decided to commemorate a trip to their hometown so fans could see some of the landmarks that shaped them.

The Grammy-winning duo take their down home stylings to Hyannis, Massachusetts August 18th and Cohasset, Massachusetts August 19th.

  • LITTLE BIG TOWN DEBUTS NEW TRACK “BETTER LOVE” FROM UPCOMING ALBUM MR. SUN.

With their 10th studio album Mr. Sun just over a month away, ACM, CMA and GRAMMY-winning band Little Big Town debuts the brand new song “Better Love” available everywhere now. The track’s release coincides with the launch of the digital pre-order for Mr Sun. The band also revealed the lyric video for “Better Love.”

LBT’s Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook wrote the confidently clever track alongside Tofer Brown and Audra Mae. “The attitude of this song is mischievous and lands squarely in Karen’s wheelhouse. It’s fun to sing, too,” Westbrook notes.

Fans will get another sneak peek of the new record when Little Big Town kicks off the brand-new series “CMT Summer Camp” with the premiere episode airing tonight at 9p/8c on CMT. The exclusive one-hour special will include performances of new music – including “Better Love” – and some of LBT’s greatest hits for a night of summertime fun.

Mr. Sun is set for release on September 16, 2022. To celebrate the album’s release, the band will perform on the 2022 Citi Concert Series on TODAY that morning from Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. Previously released tracks from Mr. Sun include Rich Man,” “All Summer, and lead single Hell Yeah, which has amassed more than 30 million global streams since its release.

Physical pre-orders of Mr. Sun are also available, including two hand-signed options from the band – a limited edition, web-store edition tangerine vinyl that includes an 11×11” art card, and a CD that includes a 4×4” art card – in addition to a baby blue vinyl edition of the record. A sky blue vinyl of Mr. Sun will be available exclusively through Barnes & Noble.

The genesis of Mr. Sun was unlike any of their previous albums. Due to the pandemic, the band found themselves off the road and apart for the first time ever throughout their 20-year journey. The resilience and creativity born from those months unearthed a deep appreciation for both one another, and the privilege of making music – ultimately inspiring the self-produced Mr. Sun, which packs both the sparkle of storytelling and the heat of truth-telling in a way only Little Big Town can.

Mr. Sun is intentionally an emotional record that holds hands well with our last album Nightfall,” LBT’s Karen Fairchild shares. “Mr. Sun is focused on better days ahead, the value of friendships and family; it touches on heartbreak and letting go, but it’s full of sunshine and joy.”

    “Next Thing You Know” Lyrics:

Swear that you’re staying single next thing you know

You meet a girl at a bar and next thing you know

You get her laughin’, its two a.m.

You’re tellin your buddies three months in

That she ain’t moving in but next thing you know

There’s a Uhaul trailer next thing you know

Your old apartment is y’all’s new place

There goes the carpet but the deer head stays

Next thing you know saving money like never before

Just to spend it all at a jewelry store

Getting down on one knee on her momma’s porch Just pray she don’t say no

Next thing you know your best man gives a half drunk speech

And your sunburn on a honeymoon beach

And your left hand is getting used to that ring

There the next two or three years ago

    Next thing you know

Weren’t really trying next thing you know

There’s a test on the counter next thing you know

She’s standing there crying nodding her head yes

Your half excited half scared to death

    Cause next thing you know

You’re wearing scrubs and a funny white hat

And the doctor’s sayin how you doing there dad and

    Nobody’s ever called you that

And you take the drive home slow

Next thing you know its first steps, first date, first car

Its 11:01 wondering where they are

You sayin’ that USC’s too far

Its amazing how fast seventeen years go

Next thing you know, Next thing you know

Next thing you know you get to know your wife again

And you’re more in love than you’ve ever been

With a lot of years of remember whens and still some down the road

‘Cause next thing you know you got a yard full of your kids’ kids

And you take them to church, teach em to fish and ya

Tell them stories every chance you get

‘Bout how fast this life down here can go

Next thing you know, Next thing you know

  • SAM HUNT FOUND THE PERFECT SPOT FOR THE VIDEO FOR HIS LATEST SINGLE, “WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE.”

Sam Hunt found the perfect location for the music video for his latest single, “Water Under The Bridge.” It’s a local Middle Tennessee fishing hole he found a few years ago, where he likes to catch small mouth bass.

“I like to catch small mouth bass and fly fish, and Middle Tennessee has some really good small mouth water, and yeah, that’s a cool little place I found several years ago,” says Sam. “I have a canoe that I’ll strap onto the top of the jeep or truck and take over there and float that little stretch and sometimes catch fish, sometimes not, but it’s so pretty over there it’s worth taking the trip in the summer or early fall.”

The Georgia native will definitely perform “Water Under The Bridge” when he performs this weekend. On Friday (August 12th), he’ll perform at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield; on Saturday (August 13th), he’ll be at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia; on Sunday (August 14th), he’s set to perform at the Q Casino in Dubuque, Iowa.

  • KEITH URBAN, SHANIA TWAIN AND MORE REMEMBER OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN.

Many movie and television stars, music artists and fans took to social media earlier this week after news broke that Olivia Newton-John had died. She was 73.

The 1974 CMA Female Vocalist Of The Year revealed in 2018 that she was treating cancer at the base of her spine. It was her third cancer diagnosis, following bouts with breast cancer in the early ’90s and in 2017.

Fellow Aussies Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman posted a loving tribute to the iconic singer/actress/activist.

Livvie brought the most divine light into the world… so much love, joy, inspiration and kindness…and we will always be hopelessly devoted to you.” — Keith and Nic

Keith first met Olivia at a songwriters’ retreat at Miles Copeland’s castle in France and said he was a bit starstruck when they first met. “I met her at a songwriting retreat that was about 23 songwriters were at this songwriting retreat, and I was a bit of a fanboy (laughs). I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m meeting Olivia Newton-John,’ you know, and it was surreal to meet her. And she was, she couldn’t have been more down-to-earth, kind, friendly, warm, funny, everything I thought she would be, she was exactly that. And then we got to write a little more over the years.”

The three have a long history together. In fact, Olivia was there the night Keith met his future wife. “There was an event in Los Angeles called G’Day LA in 2005 where they were honoring me and Nic, who I hadn’t met, and Mel Gibson, the three of us as Australians who’d done well in America,” he recalls. “And they asked if I wanted anybody, in particular, some famous Aussie, to introduce me, and I had just written with Olivia so I asked Olivia if she would do it for me, so she was the person who introduced me that night, that fateful night when I met my wife. So, she also plays that very special role in our past, as well.”

Shania Twain was heartbroken like the rest of us, and wrote, “This one hit hard. Olivia inspired me with her voice, her strength and her spirit. I followed her career from the pop stuff to movies and country music – Please Mr. Please was on my childhood set list! Thank you for sharing your talent with us all.”

Eric Church met the “Grease” star backstage at the 50th Annual CMA Awards in 2016, where he was in awe of the opening of the show, which featured current artists with heritage artists performing some of the biggest country songs of all time. “We revere Country Music and the history of it, and I’m a student of it. I’m a student of Country Music, and the opening alone was mind-blowing,” he said. “And I was backstage and I’m sitting there with Olivia Newton-John, and it was all I could do not to go into ‘Summer Lovin’.”
