  • TRAVIS DENNING ANNOUNCES “MIGHT AS WELL BE ME” EP WILL BE RELEASED ON AUGUST 5th.

Mercury Nashville recording artist Travis Denning announced his forthcoming six-song EP, MIGHT AS WELL BE ME, will be released on August 5 and is available to pre-order now here. The project is crafted for the stage with all of Denning’s hard-charging energy and mischief-making signatures intact, but it also captures an artist maturing. Denning also released a new track from the upcoming release, sharing “Buy A Girl A Drink,” available to listen now here. Co-written by Denning with Jeremy Stover, Paul DiGiovanni and Chase McGill the candlelit confession features Denning’s most tender lyricism to date.

“Last year and my most recent EP were all about thankfulness, and being glad to have any live shows at all,” Denning says, explaining the drive behind a new creative chapter. “This time a lot of that is behind us, and it’s like ‘Alright, let’s get to work.’ Overall, I wanted this EP to feel like a setlist. And I wanted it to be a no skipper.”

IT MIGHT AS WELL BE ME will also include the previously released track “She’s On It,” a thoughtful track that contemplates a mistake that can’t be fixed. On “Don’t Give a Truck,” Denning’s playful personality doesn’t just lead the party, it helps drop some heartfelt wisdom with a pure country turn of phrase. With the nostalgia-tinged “River Named Mississippi,” Denning is in all new territory. “Red Round Here,” is a rollicking roadhouse banger and the serene “If You Need Anything Down Here” finds Denning pledging undying support to a fallen friend.

MIGHT AS WELL BE ME Official Tracklist:

    1. Red Round Here
    2. River Named Mississippi
    3. Buy A Girl A Drink
    4. Don’t Give A Truck
    5. She’s On It
    6. If You Need Anything Down Here

A native of Warner Robins, Georgia, singer/songwriter and Mercury Nashville recording artist Travis Denning celebrated his first No. One and recently certified PLATINUM single with the “shadowy” (Rolling Stone) “After A Few.” Accelerating his ascend from a chart-topping single, the song was taken from his debut EP BEER’S BETTER COLD that debuted in the Top 20 of Billboard’s Country Albums chart. Denning first made waves with the release of his Top 40 debut single “David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs.” Denning has previously headlined his own “Heartbeat Of A Small Town Tour,” toured with Cole Swindell, Dustin Lynch, Alan Jackson, Riley Green and is currently out on the road this summer with Dierks Bentley and will join Jake Owen this fall. With over 500 million streams worldwide, Denning has been spotlighted for his head-turning sound and was previously selected as one of CRS New Faces, an Opry NextStage recipient and a CMA KixStart Artist, as he makes his mark within the industry. Travis Denning (Buy A Girl A Drink) OC: …ever written. :23
“Buy A Girl A Drink” is just a story of how much can come out of one simple little thing of buying a girl a drink. It’s pretty inspired by how me and (fiancé) Madison first met, and just how far we’ve come and how much we’ve grown in our relationship from just buying a tequila soda for her to now we’re getting married. It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.”

Carrie Underwood (making a new album during the pandemic) OC: …right now. 1:37
“Making an album in the middle of the past couple years, it definitely had its challenges, like I was writing on ZOOM a couple of times with a few different writers. It was a little trickier to figure out little things like that, scheduling and logistics and everybody was dealing with something all the time, BUT the fact that I was in one place a bit longer than usual. I feel like we definitely took advantage of that, and I was able to really focus in on making this album with fewer distractions than normal. I wasn’t leaving town constantly to go do things, and it was just nice to be able to have large chunks of time where I really got to focus on this album. I do feel like after the past couple of years, people are ready to get out. I mean we see it in the festivals and the things like that I have been doing, the one off shows here and there and our Vegas residency, people are ready to reenter the world and get together and celebrate things, and music brings people  together like nothing else. So, I certainly feel like that. I’m ready to get out there and go on tour and stuff like that with this album and I feel like people are really ready for it too. And it definitely made me just want to make music that is, for the most part, just positive and happy and fun, because I feel like that’s kind of a gap that we all have in our lives right now.”

“So we’ve been working on some new music that’s gonna be coming out very soon’ Urban said before performing the song, “and we thought we might lay this one on you.”

Tyler Hubbard is closing in on Top 20 on the country charts with his debut solo single, “5 Foot 9.” In the chorus of the song, he namechecks one of country music’s biggest superstars, Tim McGraw.

God makes five foot nine, brown eyes, and a sundress
Loves Tim McGraw and a small town accent
Ain’t no way that me and this truck made her fall in love
Jack makes good whiskey but God makes the good stuff
Oh, God makes the good stuff

I’ve really grown to love him and admire and respect who he is and how he handles himself and how he runs his business. And so, yeah, I sent it to him actually a few weeks ago and said, ‘Hey, I just want you to have a heads up. My first single is going to have a shout out to you. And it you know, I want you to hear it first for me, but I highly respect you and what you stand for and who you are and and just want you to know I love you. And this is this is coming out soon.’”

The two collaborated last year on the song “Undivided,” which was written by Tyler and Chris Loocke.

Tyler also recently released the song “35s,” which is from his upcoming solo project.

  • KASSI ASHTON RECEIVED AN EDUCATION IN PERFORMING AT AN EARLY AGE.

Kassi Ashton is currently on the country radio airwaves with her single, “Dates In Pickup Trucks,” which she co-wrote and produced with Luke Laird and David Garcia. The California native singer/songwriter, who also competed in many pageants when she was young, says she’s been singing since she was a tiny tot.

“I always say I’ve been singing since before I could read, because my mom would sneak me into karaoke bars, literally sneak me, because you know the high-top cocktail tables? She’d put me under the tablecloth, and I’d do scratch off tickets under the tablecloth,” she recalls. “But she would stand behind me, because I couldn’t read the prompter and tell me the words before they came up on the screen, and I was so little that if people clapped too loud, I would cry. So, I’ve literally been singing since I was tiny.”
