Parker McCollum was surprised with two RIAA plaques Saturday night ahead of his sold-out show at Ascend Amphitheater. The plaques were presented to him by RIAA’s Jackie Jones, his label team at UMG Nashville, and Red Light Management. The two plaques celebrate McCollum’s No.1 hits “Pretty Heart,” which has been certified 2x multi-Platinum, and “To Be Loved By You,” which has been certified Gold. These RIAA plaques for McCollum are for two songs off his major label debut Gold Chain Cowboy which was released last summer.

“What can I even say? I have a double Platinum hit and a Gold hit to start my career at the best record label in music,” said McCollum.  “Universal Music Group Nashville/ MCA Nashville has been incredibly patient with me and allowed me to craft these songs the same way I always have. I am forever grateful for this opportunity to swing it in the big leagues of country music. We are just getting started.”

McCollum will make his debut appearance at this year’s CMA Fest in Nashville.  He will be taking to the Nissan stage on Sunday, June 12 at 7:00pm. He will also make his first appearance on the iconic music-television series “ACL Live” on July 26th.

Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Parker McCollum released his major label debut album, Gold Chain Cowboy, with MCA. The album follows his Hollywood Gold EP which was met with widespread critical acclaim and became the top-selling debut Country EP of 2020. McCollum earned his first-ever No. 1 hit with his Platinum-selling premiere single, “Pretty Heart,” and his follow-up single, “To Be Loved By You,” also hit No. 1 on the charts. “To Be Loved By You” was also the highest first week debut album of 2021. In November of 2021, McCollum made his first late-night TV appearance performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

McCollum has been named an ‘Artist to Watch’ by Rolling Stone, Billboard, SiriusXM, CMT, RIAA, and more with American Songwriter noting, “The Texas native teeters on the edge of next-level superstardom.” MusicRow listed McCollum as their 2021 Breakout Artist of the Year and Apple also included him as one of their all-genre “Up Next Artists” Class of 2021. A dedicated road warrior, McCollum made his debut at the famed Grand Ole Opry in 2021 and he already sells out venues across the country (over 40 sold out shows nationwide in 2021) including record-breaking crowds in Dallas (20,000), The Woodlands (16,500), Austin (7500+), Lubbock (7700+), Jackson, MS (5000+), Kearney, NE (3000+), Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, and three nights at Fort Worth’s iconic Billy Bob’s Texas. In March of this year McCollum made his debut at RODEOHOUSTON to a sold-out crowd with over 73,000 tickets sold. McCollum earned his first ACM award for New Male Artist of the Year in March 2022 in Las Vegas.  McCollum also won his first CMT “Breakthrough Video of the Year” award, a fully fan-voted honor, in April 2022.

Parker McCollum (Pretty Heart) OC: …chase this dream. :43
“‘Pretty Heart’ was a song, er hook, that I had had and a melody I’d had for a long time that I had forgotten about. I was scrolling back through my Instagram one night, looking for something one night and I had found a video of me singing it that I had posted forever ago. I was like, ‘Man, how did I forget about that?’ I think that was the day before I was flying up here (Nashville) to write with my buddy Randy Montana. I was like, ‘Maybe he’d like that idea.’ I took it to him, and he just fell in love with it and that was like two or three hours that we just cranked it out. We were like, ‘Man! That was it.’ All those songs come from very real-life experiences – good and bad choices and decisions that I’ve made on my own. But they’re all just about past relationships and giving those up to chase this dream.”

Parker McCollum (To Be Loved By You) OC: …stoked about it. :28
“Recording ‘To Be Loved By You” was really a unique kind of experience. It was a song I think that when I wrote it with my buddy Rhett Akins, we kind of, we didn’t put a lot of energy into it. It was more of a kind of slow, balled-y song, and we got in the studio, I was with Jon Randall, and I said, ‘Man, what if we just push the limits on this one and kinda just see how far we can push the envelope here?’ It’s crazy to see how well it turned out, and it’s such a rockin’ tune and we’re stoked about it.”

  • ERIC CHURCH WRAPS AWARD-WINNING THE GATHER AGAIN TOUR AT NEW YORK’S MADISON SQUARE GARDEN.

When Eric Church rallied the Choir just over a year announcing his 50-plus stop The Gather Again Tour, it was moments like April 13th, 2017 at Allstate Arena he missed: bringing people together with their shared love of music, playing long and throwing a few surprises in along the way.

That night, five years ago, Church introduced a then-unknown Ashley McBryde: “I mentioned I had a guest and there’s a young lady here who I have become a massive fan of, and you guys are gonna be a massive fan of her real soon. She’s just starting this journey of her career and she’s unquestionably my favorite artist out right now that’s not out yet, but she will be real soon. So I invited her to come out and just her and I are gonna do an acoustic song that she wrote… please make welcome Ashley McBryde.”

Fast-forward to Friday night in Manhattan, the Arkansas-native stepped on stage to support the man who initially gave her a spotlight during his second song, “Outsiders.” A few songs later, Church acknowledged what the crowd had already noticed, sharing that powerhouse Joanna Cotten was under the weather and he surprised the crowd with another outsider, McBryde, joining for nearly every song of the marathon 30-song set before Church closed the night out solo acoustic with a five-song medley encore.

One fan offered, “Travelled from Ireland to see Eric Church at Madison Square Garden last night. Then Ashley McBryde my favourite artist in the world stepped on stage for the ENTIRE show. No point doing the lottery, tonight my numbers already came up!”

“That’s one hell of a call to the bullpen,” Whiskey Riff added.

“When Joanna had to sit this one out, we immediately knew who to ask. Ashley is meant for arena stages, and she’ll be headlining her own show at MSG soon,” the CMA Entertainer of the Year shared. “As when Heart & Soul was born, it was moments like last night that we always envisioned: seeing people together again, arms around one another, living and loving life for those three hours. Standing on stage again looking out at that view is a feeling we’ll never take for granted.”

“Stepping into Joanna Cotten’s boots… I don’t take it lightly,” says McBryde. “I have so much respect for that woman and that voice. When Eric asked, ‘Hey, can you come fill in?’ I said yes without even knowing how I’d get there. Talk about respect… any time Eric’s asked me to do something it has caused me to level up. I got to take a master class in entertaining while on stage.”

With dueling vocals on “Heart On Fire,” “Break It Kinda Guy,” “Stick That In Your Country Song” and “Like Jesus Does,” the final stop on Gather Again did just what it was intended to do.

And then in the chorus for me, it’s the bigger, more important picture of hey, the real good stuff in life? Just the reminder that God’s responsible for making that happen and just taking that in and letting that be a daily reminder for myself and my fans. So, definitely love this song and it holds a special place in my heart.”

  • MCA NASHVILLE RECORDING ARTIST CATIE OFFERMAN RELEASES NEW TRACK “DON’T DO IT IN TEXAS.”

Catie Offerman releases her latest track today, “Don’t Do It In Texas” – Listen HERE. On the heels of Offerman’s debut track “Happyland Trailer Park,” which has 2.3M streams to date, the New Braunfels, Texas-native wrote the heartfelt song with renowned songwriters Nicolle Galyon (Dierks Bentley’s “Gone,” Kelsea Ballerini’s “Homecoming Queen”) and Ryan Beaver (Blake Shelton’s “Body Language, Hardy’s “4×4”) during Covid in May 2020 via Zoom, while Offerman was in Texas. As a proud Texan, being home sparked the idea. “Don’t Do It In Texas” is produced by the award-winning Dann Huff.

“If you know me, you know Texas has a very special place in my heart. It’s everything I love, where my story began, and the place that holds so many special memories,” says Offerman. “I think everybody knows how a heartache hurts a little more when it steals a special place from you. This song puts me right back home. It may be Texas for me, but it can be anywhere for you.”

“This song was written almost exactly 2 years to the day that it’s being released – which is crazy to me,” adds Offerman. “But I think it must be a sign. It was such a weird time at the beginning of Covid, but being home back in Texas with my family made the ‘unknowns’ of what we were all going through feel a little sweeter. The song came sparked from a place of appreciating how special home is – but how quickly a heartbreak can steal such a sacred place away from you.”

    Chorus:

Just don’t do it in Texas

    Don’t do me that wrong

Don’t wanna end up an ex in

    Some old George Strait song

    Yeah, just remember

    Everything’s bigger

And I couldn’t handle a hurt that size

So, don’t do it in Texas

    If you’re saying goodbye

Offerman will make her performance debut at this year’s CMA Fest in Nashville, TN on Saturday, June 11th at 4:05pm on the Maui Jim Reverb Stage. She will also return to her hometown of New Braunfels, Texas on July 1st and 2nd to open for reigning ACM New Male Artist of the Year, Parker McCollum.

  • LUKE BRYAN MAKES APPEARANCE ON ONE OF ELLEN DeGENERES’ LAST SHOWS.

Luke Bryan appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday (May 18th) for his final appearance on her show, which ends it’s long run next week.

Luke, who has a Las Vegas residency at Resorts World, explained to Ellen that not only does he like to gamble, but he got it from his dad who was a competitive gambler. The country superstar also reminisced about being a red-carpet correspondent at the CMAs for Ellen, talked about the new season of “American Idol” and raised a beer (Two Lane, of course) to cheers Ellen for a successful run.
