• GEORGE STRAIT KANSAS CITY STADIUM SHOW ADDS PARKER McCOLLUM.

The King of Country’s one-night-only concert event planned for July 30th at Kansas City’s GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium keeps getting bigger as Messina Touring announces the addition of ACM New Male Vocalist and fellow Texan Parker McCollum. The chart-topping artist joins superstars Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town in gracing the stadium’s stage for the first time, while George Strait himself makes his first return to the venue since 2001. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.com with limited quantities remaining.

McCollum’s major label debut Hollywood Gold was met with widespread critical acclaim and became the top-selling debut country EP of 2020. The singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist earned his first-ever No. 1 hit with his Platinum-selling debut single, “Pretty Heart,” and his follow up single, “To Be Loved By You,” off debut album Gold Chain Cowboy, also took the No.1 spot for two consecutive chart-topping singles. McCollum has been named an ‘Artist to Watch’ by Rolling StoneBillboard, SiriusXM, CMT, RIAA and more with American Songwriter noting, “The Texas native teeters on the edge of next-level superstardom.” A dedicated road warrior, McCollum already sells out venues across the country including record-breaking crowds in Austin and Lubbock, plus Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and three nights at the iconic Billy Bob’s Texas. He also made his Grand Ole Opry debut last year and recently made his RODEOHOUSTON debut performing for a sold-out crowd and turning his childhood dream into a reality.

With an unmatched 60 singles hitting the top of the charts—more than any other artist in any genre—during the span of his 30+ year career, Strait has collected 33 Platinum or multi-Platinum-selling albums, more than any other Country artist and ranking third across all genres behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley. The Texas troubadour is the only artist or act in history to have a Top 10 hit every year for over three decades and recently earned his 100th entry on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with his latest single, “The Weight of the Badge.” He has sold nearly 70 million albums and earned more than 60 major entertainment industry awards, including induction in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

The July 30th show will mark the 54th concert or music festival in GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium history and will be the 15th concert performance that the stadium has hosted since 2011. The 2022 show will be Strait’s fourth performance (1998-99, 2001) at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. In addition to performing in Kansas City, Strait will also headline Lincoln, Nebraska’s Pinnacle Bank Arena tomorrow, April 23, and will perform back-to-back nights with Willie Nelson and Randy Rogers for the grand opening of the Moody Center in Austin on April 29 and 30.

  • ERIC CHURCH IS CELEBRATING THE ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF HIS HEART & SOUL PROJECT.

Eric Church is celebrating the one-year anniversary of his three-record collection, Heart & Soul, this week. The project was a huge undertaking and he had no idea it would end up on three separate records.

“I thought it was one album. I didn’t know if it would even happen. The great thing about this song, ‘Heart On Fire,’ is it was the first one we recorded, and if this one had not had worked, I don’t know that the project would’ve worked, because at the time, I had not convinced everybody that this was the thing to do,” says Eric. “My band was pretty skeptical, my producer was skeptical, the songwriters I had onsite were skeptical. What I found is everybody kind of committed the way I thought they would with we knew what we had to do, and we had a songwriter that knew, hey, we have to do this because we’re recording tonight, and we have to get this right and we have to figure this out. This can’t be bad. And you really had people that really just committed to it and the band and the producer, they committed to it, and then I was singing, I committed to it. And it just became four, five, six songs in, we knew we kinda had a special thing going.”

Eric took his band, producer and songwriters out of the normal environments to write and record at a restaurant in the mountains of North Carolina, not knowing what the project would look or sound like, but knowing he wanted to shake things up a bit. What he found was a huge commitment to making it all work.

“What I found is there’s something about doing something different that there’s a belief there,” he says. “Every night we would eat together. Every morning we would be together. And they respected the players, the songwriters. They all respected what I was trying to do. I was honest with them. I said, ‘Hey, I may bring in a song. This song may suck but I wrote it today so give me – I have not slept. Give me a break.’ So, I think at some point in time they committed themselves to what we were trying to do and they gave 110% of that. They knew this dude has been up all night. This dude is trying and we’re going to try, too. And I think that there’s something to that overall, pulling on the rope the same way that made it – made it what it is. Made the project what it is.”

Church released the first of his three records, Heart, April 16th, 2021. He created the middle album of the trilogy, &, specifically for the Church Choir (his fan club), which was available exclusively to them only as a vinyl record and was released April 20th, 2021. The third installment, Soul, was released April 23rd.

Eric is racing to the top of the country charts with his latest single, “Heart On Fire.”

Eric Church (Heart & Soul Anniversary message) OC: …in our career. :41  NOTE: music bed underneath
“I want to say Happy Anniversary to the Heart & Soul album. I can’t believe it’s been a year since it’s been out. It will always be, they will always be among my most favorite records to make because we wrote and recorded a song the same day. It was a challenge, it was hard as hell, but it was also the most in-the-moment, the most spiritual, the most connected I think I’ve been to a project, and it has been a joy to play those on the Gather Again Tour. It’s been a joy to watch them grow, it’s been a joy to throw in new songs here and there and watch people react to it. It’s just been a lot of fun. My favorite thing as an artist is to watch these grow over time. It’s happened every time in our career.”

  • DIERKS BENTLEY TOASTS TO 21st CAREER NO. ONE “BEERS ON ME” TAKING THE TOP SPOT AT COUNTRY RADIO THIS WEEK

Dierks Bentley takes “Beers On Me” to the top of Mediabase/Country Aircheck Singles chart and Billboard’s Country Airplay chart this week, notching his 21st career No. One. Joining forces and voices with rising country hotshots BRELAND and HARDY, Bentley sings a “summertime ode to cold beers and good friends, with a few shots of reality thrown in for good measure” (People) ahead of launching his BEERS ON ME TOUR with special guests Ashley McBryde and Travis Denning, kicking off June 3rd in Wilmington, North Carolina. It was recently announced that his SEVEN PEAKS MUSIC FESTIVAL will once again return this Labor Day Weekend, September 2-4, in a new scenic setting of San Luis Valley in Villa Grove, CO, as passes will go on sale to the general public this Friday (4/22 at 10:00A MT) at sevenpeaksfestival.com.

“From start to finish this song was a true collaboration, and to do it with BRELAND and HARDY really means a lot,” Bentley said. “They both bring something that’s so needed in Country music right now and can’t thank the fans and Country radio enough for embracing this one. I’m lucky to have gotten a chance to work with these two and it’s cool to be able to celebrate BRELAND’s first number one song – as an artist and songwriter – with him.”

“I’ve been so fortunate over the years to have many No. 1s, I mean a lot of No. 1s, and they all have some sort of special significance whether it was the songwriters I wrote it with or the idea where it came from, but certainly this 21st No. 1 with BRELAND and Hardy would be pretty special for me because of the collaboration,” adds Dierks (see audio below). “I love Hardy. He’s obviously had a lot of success, a lot of No. 1s as a singer as well as a songwriter. But for BRELAND, I believe this would be his very first No. 1 as an artist and as a songwriter. So, to be part of that history is so special for me and just personally as a friend of BRELAND’s – no one’s more deserving than him to have the success that he’s having. So, this is going to be a great moment to share together on stage accepting the awards that come with a No. 1 record and just can’t wait to see that big smile on his face.”

Bentley will take his “all-night sing-along party” (Fresno Bee) to 31-cities during his BEERS ON ME TOUR including the “can’t miss” (Esquire) event of the summer, SEVEN PEAKS MUSIC FESTIVAL, where he will headline along with Morgan Wallen. Additional main stage performances include Boy Named Banjo, Ashley Cooke, Jordan Davis, Jackson Dean, Travis Denning, HARDY,  Kendell Marvel, Ashley McBryde, Old Crow Medicine Show, Caitlyn Smith, Rapidgrass, Alana Springsteen and Lainey Wilson.

Dierks Bentley continues to be a dominant voice for the genre with over 6.4 billion streams. Reaching a new creative high while “making music designed to challenge” (New York Times), Bentley co-wrote 10 of 13 tracks on his latest full-length release THE MOUNTAIN, which earned him the highest debut sales of his career and became his seventh chart-topping release. Last year, Bentley surprised fans with his LIVE FROM TELLURIDE collection that was touted as “a gift that Country music fans didn’t know they needed” (The Tennesseean). Bentley celebrates his 16th year anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry and will be inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame next month. He also has created professional endeavors outside of the music with his Flag & Anthem lifestyle collection Desert Son, along with his “Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row” franchise hosting four locations.
