  • JORDAN DAVIS COULDN’T WAIT TO PERFORM HIS LATEST SONG, “ALMOST MAYBES,” LIVE.

A couple of weeks ago, Jordan Davis was able to perform his latest single, “Almost Maybes” live for the first time, and he and his band couldn’t wait to see what the reaction would be like from the crowd.

“I think the thing about this pandemic is we haven’t been able to play a lot of these songs out, so we have ‘Almost Maybes,’ – we’re looking at it on the setlist and excited for it being the first time that we’re getting to play it live and we’re playing a big festival on the East Coast,” says Jordan. “And I mean I just stopped singing it and was able to just kind of put the mic down and just listen to all the fans scream it back to me. That was a special moment, and really, really glad I got to share it with ‘em.”

The Louisiana native penned the song, which is poised to hit the top of the country charts, with Jesse Frasure and Hillary Lindsey. “Almost Maybes” is the follow-up to three consecutive No. 1 songs, “Singles You Up,” “Take It From Me” and “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot.”

Jordan is set to kick off his headlining Buy Dirt Tour September 9t in Minneapolis, and will also hit the road with Kane Brown later this fall.

“This is a montage of everything I have done since my last album,” Allan says of RUTHLESS. “It’s what I love.  I remain influenced by the ‘90s — as well as by the ‘80s. Twenty-six tracks were cut for this album.  Then I went back to the studio and recorded three or four more tracks. Then I returned for two more. From each of these many sessions, I pulled out the cool stuff that I wanted on the record.” Hear more from Gary Allan about RUTHLESS here:

“I think these eight songs work really well together, just because they were created in such a close period of time I think I was in the same head space on all of ‘em, and I got to cover one of my favorite John Prine songs to kind of kick this EP off. But, yeah, (I’m) really happy with how all these eight songs kind of blend with what I was going through during the pandemic.”

  • JORDAN DAVIS READY TO RELEASE NEW EP, BUY DIRT.

Jordan Davis releases his new EP, Buy Dirt, tomorrow (May 21st). Produced by Paul DiGiovanni, Buy Dirt is Davis’ eight-song follow-up to last year’s self-titled EP and his debut album Home State. Davis co-wrote every song on the EP except for the John Prine-inspired “Blow Up Your TV,” who is a major influence on Davis and his music. As a husband and new father, Davis finds himself in a different place in his lifeand the songs reflect it. Davis stakes his claim as a country innovator, both expanding and modernizing his sound without abandoning his love for the classics.

“I think this EP, Buy Dirt, it’s been my last year. You know, I think I’ve learned a lot about myself, and I’ve been able to kind of reprioritize some stuff,” says Jordan. I think it’s good to be busy. I’ve kind of always leaned on being busy as this really, really good thing. Being busy is good because that means you have a lot of work or whatever. But unfortunately, when you’re busy and you’re on the road, a lot of things that should come first kind of get pushed to the side. I kind of had to figure that out, and the pandemic really put it right in front of my face. And so, My writing changed, and I think that’s what a lot of these songs on Buy Dirt kind of reflect. I hope they take away some good music and a changed artist for the better.”

Country superstar Luke Bryan lends his vocals on the vulnerable title track and centerpiece of the EP. The two musicians had first met at an awards show, then bumped into each other on the golf course throughout the years that followed. “We sat around the fire after a golf tournament one day, smoking cigars and talking about everything but music,” Davis recalls. “That conversation always stuck with me. Luke isn’t just a great entertainer; he’s a great Dad, a great husband, and a great friend, too. That’s what ‘Buy Dirt’ embodies. When I wrote ‘Buy Dirt,’ I knew he could relate to the song’s message. I took a chance and asked him to join me on the recording, and he said yes.”

Additionally, Fans can watch the EP trailer detailing the new project HERE. Davis’ current single, “Almost Maybes,” is currently Top 10 on the country radio charts and Davis will hit the road this Fall performing on Kane Brown’s Blessed and Free Tour.

  • CAYLEE HAMMACK INSPIRED SONG ON ALAN JACKSON’S NEW ALBUM, WHERE HAVE YOU GONE.

Caylee Hammack is on cloud nine after receiving the news that country superstar Alan Jackson wrote a song based on a letter she sent to him thanking him for recording a duet with her on a cover of the Don Williams’ classic “Lord I Hope This Day Is Good.” In the letter, she said for a man that never cries, her daddy was crying happy tears after listening to her daughter and the iconic Alan Jackson sing together.

His team didn’t really know that he wrote it about that until he was talking about the songs on the record. “The truth be known, the hook came from a young artist that’s on my label, a girl named Caylee Hammack,” says Alan. “She wanted to record this old Don Williams song, ‘Lord I Hope This Day Is Good.’ And I love that song and I love Don anything. And so, I agreed to sing it with her and it’s her record…and she’s a great singer. She sounded beautiful on it. And after we had recorded it she sent me a nice gift or two and a letter and the letter was – she’s from Georgia, like I am from somewhere up north of Atlanta – that she had taken the rough track we had sent her and played it for her daddy who is probably my age. But he was a big fan of mine and this was in the letter that she played it for him and he…yeah, I guess he teared up about it and she just thought it was really something from a man who never cries. And I thought I need to write that.”

Caylee’s team just sent over the song and said they wanted her reaction caught on camera. Little did she know the song was based on her father. “I listened to the song, and I just fell in love with the song and it made me think of my dad. Well, I’m already excited to listen to a (new) Alan Jackson song but I don’t know why I’ve gotten the chance to,” says Caylee. “I called the team and I tell them it reminds me of my dad, but why did he send it? They explain to me that this was inspired by a letter that I had written Alan Jackson and a line specifically about my dad, a man that never cries but crying happy tears when he heard our version of ‘Lord I Hope This Day is Good.’ It just blew me away to be completely honestly. I didn’t even know to wish for this, but still it’s just a dream come true. I’m so grateful to Alan Jackson, Mr. Jackson, I don’t know what I should call him just yet, but I am so very grateful. He made my dad’s day, once again.”

Caylee will also have a chance to thank Alan in person when she performs during his concert Where I Come From: Tornado Benefit show for relief efforts in Newnan, Georgia June 26th.

Alan just released Where Have You Gone, his first album in six years, last Friday (May 14th).

  • DIERKS BENTLEY’S “GONE” WAS A MAGNETIC FORCE FOR THE SINGER WHEN IT CAME TIME TO RECORD.

Dierks Bentley is about to take over the top of the country charts with his latest single “Gone.” He gravitated towards the song, written by Nicolle Galyon, Ben Johnson and Niko Moon, when he first saw the title and the clever wordplay in the song.

“When it came time to cut some stuff, that song just kind of rose to the top, and I gravitated towards it because I love the title,” says Dierks. “I love a good classic country wordplay of ever since you left, I’ve been gone, but he actually hasn’t gone anywhere. I feel like I’ve been gone. I feel like we’ve all been gone. So, it touches on a little bit of the idea of what’s been going on here with COVID, but it does it in a metaphorical way through a relationship. So, it touches on a way we can all relate to, but I just love the groove. I love the way it feels. One of the good things about not writing the song is I can brag on it. It’s written well. It’s well-written with a great groove; it’s fun to listen to.”

If Dierks hits the top of the charts, it’ll be his 20th No. 1.

The headliner will hit the road with his Beers On Me Tour with Parker McCollum and Riley Green August 13th in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Audio / Dierks Bentley talks about his song, "Gone," which is (fingers crossed) getting ready to be his 20th No. 1 song!
