• CB30 RELEASES COVER OF OLIVIA RODRIGO’S “DRIVERS LICENSE.”

Buena Vista Records’ CB30 released their piano version of Olivia Rodrigo’s viral smash hit, “drivers license,” today – listen HERE. The duo originally recorded an acoustic performance of the song while they were in their home studio and released it on their social media accounts. They received an immediate outpouring of support from their fans and their performance was recently spotlighted by Taste of Country. Additionally, CB30’s Christian Clementi worked as the producer on the track, marking the first self-produced song the duo released.

The brothers explain how they felt when they first heard the song and why they decided to record it. “When we first heard “drivers license,” by Olivia Rodrigo, we knew we had to do a cover,” says Brody Clementi. “We posted a clip of us singing the song on socials and fans really seemed to dig it, so we decided to release the full piano version.”

“This was really fun for us to work on,” adds Christian Clementi. “We recorded the song at our house and decided to have Brody sing lead. I actually produced the song which was super cool.”

    About CB30:
CB30, comprised of real-life brothers Christian and Brody Clementi, grew up in Nashville surrounded by music from a young age. • LUKE BRYAN “HOOKS” A BIG ONE ON A RECENT FISHING TRIP.

Luke Bryan tends to take everything in stride, including taking a trip to a medical center earlier this week to get a pretty elaborate fishing hook removed from his hand. The four-time Entertainer of the Year took to Instagram to reveal he really hooked himself a big one – his hand.

Notice when you click on the clip, it says “This video may contain graphic or violent content.” Bless.

He documented the trip to the hospital to have the procedure done on his Instagram stories and headed right back on the water afterward with his guitar tech, Russ.

A few comments on his video included his wife, Caroline, who said, “I leave your ass for 2 hours and this happens…damn baby.” Travis Denning, who loves to fish as well, said, “I don’t think you’ll be able to pass that middle hook 😳,” while Jake Owen quipped, “Huntin’, Fishin’ Lovin’ every day,” after one of Luke’s No. 1 hits.

Luke, who is in his fourth season as a judge on American Idol, is set to release the deluxe version of his Born Here Live Here Die Here album next Friday (April 9th).

  • CARRIE UNDERWOOD’S NEW ALBUM, MY SAVIOR, IS AVAILABLE NOW.

Seven-time GRAMMY® Award winner and three-time ACM Entertainer of the Year Carrie Underwood releases her new album, My Savior, worldwide on Friday (March 26th). In celebration, Carrie will appear on NBC’s TODAY during the 8am hour, including a performance of “Just As I Am,” followed by the 10am hour with a performance of “Victory In Jesus” today (Friday, March 26).  Carrie will be seen on Australia’s #1 National Breakfast Variety and Light Entertainment Program, Sunrise, and will be featured on CBS Sunday Morning, scheduled to air on Sunday, April 4 (Easter Sunday).

My Savior consists of covers of some of Underwood’s favorite traditional gospel hymns in a unique pastiche of musical styles from classic country to folk, bluegrass, and gospel.  The album is available digitally and on CD today and will be available on vinyl April 30th.  My Savior is co-produced and arranged by Underwood and GRAMMY® Award winner David Garcia, with whom she co-produced her critically acclaimed 2018 album Cry Pretty, her seventh album to be certified Platinum or Multi-Platinum by the RIAA. Garcia is a multi-platinum selling, four-time GRAMMY® Award-winning record producer and songwriter.

“This is an album I have always wanted to record and I’m thrilled to be able to bring these uplifting, inspirational songs to life in this special way,” says Carrie.  “It means so much to be able to bring this event to people in their homes on a day that holds so much meaning for us spiritually and to be able to raise much needed funds and awareness for the incredible work of Save the Children as we celebrate the importance of family.”

“When I set out to choose these songs, I wanted to include the beautiful, familiar hymns I grew up singing in church,” says Underwood.  “There are several songs I have performed in the past, like ‘Softly And Tenderly,’ ‘How Great Thou Art’ and ‘Amazing Grace’ that mean so much to me and I knew immediately we needed to record for the album.  This music shaped who I am as a person and is the foundation of my career as a recording artist.  I feel so blessed to get to share these songs with generations of people who love them as I do, as well as others who might be experiencing them for the first time.”

Carrie Underwood (new generation for hymns) :49
“I feel like people my age and older really did grow up singing hymns. We go to church now, and everything is very praise and worship, which is wonderful, but I feel like there are a lot of people who have not experienced a lot of these hymns or they’re not a part of their weekly life, you know. So, I do hope people – I hope people that are like me that grew up with them can listen to them and feel the heart behind them. We wanted to make them sound fresh, but we didn’t want to change anything too much. So, I hope the traditionalists will enjoy it but I also hope that people who haven’t experienced these songs as much can listen and feel, get that sense of home but enjoy what they’re listening to as well.”

Audio / Carrie Underwood talks about "Great is Thy Faithfulness," which appears on her new album, My Savior.

Carrie Underwood (Great Is Thy Faithfulness) OC: …wonderful experience. :39
“‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’ is just absolutely beautiful. When we were talking about adding it to this album, My Savior, I could hear a voice like CeCe Winans on it, and one of my favorite memories will always be A, just watching her work and what a true legend and professional she is; but when she came in, she was like, ‘I love this song so much because He is faithful.’ And I will just never forget her looking me in the eye and just telling me that He is faithful. I knew it already, but the fact that I believe that and she believes that and we sing on this song together, it was just such a wonderful experience.”

  • ERIC CHURCH PUSHES THE CREATIVE ENVELOPE FOR HIS NEW THREE-ALBUM PROJECT, HEART & SOUL.

On every album, Eric Church seems to disturb the status quo and doesn’t write or record the same way he did on previous records. He took that further with his new three-album project, Heart & Soul, by disrupting the entire process and taking everyone out of their comfort zone including himself, his band, his co-writers and his producer Jay Joyce. The collection was born from a month-long session in the mountains of North Carolina during which he wrote/co-wrote and recorded a song from start to finish each day in an effort to push the limits of creativity for everyone involved.

“I committed to — I will get up in the morning and we’re going to write a song or create a piece of work that we are going to record that night, and then we’re going to do it again and again and again,” says the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year. “And I think that there’s something about the commitment to the 24-hour period and then the forget-ability of the next period that made this work. So, when we’re in the studio and I’ve been – somebody, I remember Jay (Joyce) asking him one day he said, ‘Well, hey, how does the bridge go?’  And I went, ‘I don’t know.’ I said, ’I just wrote it an hour ago. I have no cl…– where do you think the bridge goes?’ But being in that moment, that creative moment and not choking it out– this is the end of the creative moment, let’s evaluate it. We let the creative moment continue to the players, to the songwriters.”

The first release, Heart, will be available April 16th. He created the middle album of the trilogy, &, specifically for the Church Choir (his fan club), which will be available exclusively to them only as a vinyl record on April 20th. The third installment, Soul, is set for release April 23rd.

Eric is currently making his way up the country charts with his latest single, “Hell of a View.”

  • TRAVIS DENNING RELATED TO HIS NEW SINGLE, “ABBY,” THE FIRST TIME HE HEARD IT.

Travis Denning goes for adds at country radio on Monday with his new single, “ABBY.” While he didn’t write it, the first time the Georgia native heard it, he was hooked and knew he had to record the song.

“This is a song I didn’t write but I heard it – my buddy played me the demo early on,” says Travis. “I laughed, and I was like that’s so smart. I was jealous of it. I was like, Dang, I wish I’d written that, and I just related to it. I mean, who can’t relate to a break-up that just has no dignity whatsoever? Every now and then, you’ve got to go full-on ‘I’m done with you and I really need you to understand that in the deepest way.’”

Travis is nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at this year’s ACM Awards. The 56th Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton, will air live from Nashville April 18th beginning at 8pm ET/7pm CT on CBS. The show will also be available to stream live and on demand on the new Paramount+ channel.

  • EASTER 2021

Easter is this Sunday (April 4th), and we have a few liners and soundbites to celebrate the holiday.

Audio / Jordan Davis talks about his Easter holidays when he was growing up in Louisiana.

    Download

Jordan Davis (Easter) OC: …that holiday was. :53
“We would always have the Easter Egg Hunt before church. You know, my mom, she would dress us in these ridiculous, pastel-colored, gosh, good Lord, I’m sorry for saying this, but the worst part about Easter for me is some of the photos I have of what my mom dressed us in. It was hideous! But yeah, that was it growing up. We would have our Easter Egg Hunt, and I think for me early on, and probably like a lot of kids, Easter was another Sunday where it was a very mini, mini Christmas. We’d get some candy, every once in a while, we’d get a present, something that we wanted, we’d go to church, and everybody looked great. It was like the day to wear the new dress or the guys had these crazy ties on or something like that. And it really wasn’t until, I think, I was able to kinda hit my high school years and kind of start to strengthen my faith that I realized how special that holiday was.”

Audio / Maddie and Tae talk about their Easter holiday growing up.

    Download

Maddie & Tae (Easter) OC: (Maddie) …hope and joy. :51
TAE: “Easters growing up for the Dye fam, my side, is  when I was younger, we’d go to my grandparents a lot and we’d do the whole Easter egg hunt and we’d go to church. My parents would always dress us up in these really cute springy outfits. But, yeah, Easter with family is always so much fun.” MADDIE: “Our Easter was very similar. My grandma would always get us this white chocolate cross with little flowers on it. It was so delicious. And me and my sister typically had matching dresses, which annoyed me at the time, but looking back it was precious. But Easter for us, Tae and I love us some Jesus! That is our favorite dude ever! (TAE: “That’s what Easter means.”) And so Easter is all about praising Jesus for his sacrifice so that we can know God and Him and just live a life full of purpose and hope and joy.”

  • CMA AWARD-WINNING DUO MADDIE & TAE NAMED CMA FOUNDATION ARTIST AMBASSADORS.

Maddie & Tae are teaming up with the CMA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Country Music Association (CMA), to lend their voices and inspire music teachers and students as CMA Foundation Artist Ambassadors. From coming together as a duo through vocal lessons as young teenagers, Maddie & Tae have seen the positive influence of music in their own lives and are working with students and teachers to share the value of music with others. In their roles as CMA Foundation Artist Ambassadors, Maddie & Tae will virtually visit a music class to discuss how music has helped them overcome insecurities and develop confidence. The duo will also take part in a discussion with female teachers about overcoming challenges and the importance of empowering the next generation of female leaders, sharing experiences about their journeys in the music industry, musicianship and why they are utilizing their platforms to encourage the next generation.

“Maddie & Tae have used their voices throughout their careers to advocate for the importance of music education, supporting the CMA Foundation’s mission to provide equitable opportunities for students across the country,” says Tiffany Kerns, CMA Foundation Executive Director. “As we are celebrating Music In Our Schools Month in March, we are excited to have these talented women join our CMA Foundation Artist Ambassador collective to share the power of music with students and music teachers. The CMA Foundation understands that representation is key in all areas of life. Maddie & Tae are two strong, talented and resilient female leaders in the music industry and we are looking forward to them being examples for these students and teachers, showing them that anything is possible.”

“Music has always been incredibly special to us,” says Taylor Kerr of Maddie & Tae. “Not only for the enjoyment of listening and creating, but for the healing and connection it brings to so many. We feel honored to be the new CMA Foundation ambassadors and look forward to chatting about our favorite thing in the whole world!”

Maddie & Tae will bring their unique talents and experience to this initiative as they join a notable group of CMA Foundation Artist Ambassadors, including Jimmie Allen, Lindsay Ell and Ashley McBryde, who have all used their voices to advocate for music education in ways that are personal to them. Allen took part in a virtual meeting with a third-grade music class at Snowden Elementary in Memphis, TN to share his story and discuss music and songwriting with the young students. He also participated in the CMA Foundation’s Teaching Artist Webinar Series to discuss culturally relevant teaching, music discovery and parenting in a pandemic. Ell shared the healing power of music with Nashville area Mt. View Elementary students during a virtual songwriting session last month, as well as teaching student guitarists how to restring and tune a guitar. McBryde served as the inaugural Artist Ambassador, meeting virtually with music teachers last year to discuss obstacles faced while teaching amid the pandemic and sharing how music education led to her career in Country Music. She created a music lesson on building the major scale for teachers and students to use in both their in-person and virtual classrooms.

Over the last 10 years, the CMA Foundation has continued its mission to provide equitable opportunities and access to music education to students across the country. The organization has spent the last decade investing in the ecosystem that supports music education through school districts and teachers in order to champion music at every turn, by providing monetary, programmatic and strategic support with the goal of making systems change within public school districts in underserved communities. The CMA Foundation has a unique platform to advocate, convene and educate others on the value of music for all and is grateful to have an incredible community of artists join in using their reach to help share the importance of music education and investing in the next generation.

The CMA Foundation will continue to provide unique resources and support for music teachers and students as more Artist Ambassadors are announced throughout the year.
