Jon Pardi and his new bride Summer got married November 21st after postponing their wedding a couple of times due to the global pandemic. The two have been enjoying each other’s company before and after the nuptials this past fall and Jon says not much has changed since becoming Mr. and Mrs. Pardi.

“How does it feel to be married? It feels great! There’s not much changes other than getting used to wearing a ring, but Summer and I are having a great time and gearing up for 2021 and start writing and get me a new album this year. So, that’s the goal. Summer’ll be here every step of the way like she was the last record, and we’ll have fun. And that’s the most that’s changed, except we’re just married officially now.”

The California native just released his new single, “Tequila Little Time,” from his CMA and ACM-nominated album, Heartache Medication.

Jon Pardi released his debut album, Write You a Song, seven years ago this week (January 14th, 2014). He has since exploded on the country charts with four No. 1 songs.

Write You A Song contains both of Pardi’s breakthrough hits—“Missin’ You Crazy” and “Up All Night”–as well as tracks that veer from pure honky-tonk and party songs to tales of love and romance. The bottom line, though, is pure, stage-worthy high energy.

“All I ever wanted to do coming to Nashville,” says Jon, “was to write rowdy, in-your-face, straight country music, and that’s what this album is.”

The album’s title track packs the kind of punch that marks Pardi as heir to a honky-tonk line that runs through Buck Owens and Dwight Yoakam, and its spare instrumentation brings a purist’s grit to heartfelt tales of road life. “What I Can’t Put Down” is an ode to the addictive nature of cigarettes, alcohol, love and, above all, music. “Trash A Hotel Room” is not, as might be expected, a tale of road excess, but rather a tale of two lovers getting back to basics, and “Happens All The Time” makes a terrific song out of a pick-up line. If there is a bit of autobiographical philosophy here, it’s in the fan-favorite “Chasin’ Them Better Days,” an infectious look at hope and dreams in the worlds of music and love.

Jon has recently released his latest song, “Tequila Little Time,” from his third studio album, Heartache Medication. He released a deluxe version of the record with two new songs late last year, as well as Rancho Fiesta Sessions, a collection of cover songs that he recorded in his shop during the earlier days of the pandemic.

Priscilla Block is as real as it gets, and that realness slices right through when listening to her songs of life, love, lost love, heartbreak, body parts (“Thick Thighs”) and her everyday experiences (“PMS”). The newcomer was discovered when she hit No. 1 on iTunes with her now country single, “Just About Over You,” which she originally posted on Tik Tok. The tune, which is based on a true story of running into her ex at a local Nashville watering hole, was really championed by her followers and fans on the social platform. You can also catch her on Tik Tok singing country songs from some of her favorite country artists.

She says listening to country music makes her feel ALL the emotions. ““Listening to country music makes me feel every emotion in the world, whether I’m sad or happy. I remember the first time I heard ‘Stupid Boy,’ and there was just something about that song that moved me completely. This is why I write country music.”

Caylee Hammack is a natural born singer, songwriter and performer. She started playing live wherever she could when she was only 13-years-old. It proved a bit tough when she was playing in bars, though, but she eventually got a fake ID…with her dad’s approval.

“From 13 to 19, I played all over the Southeast, whether it was in a church, a honkytonk, a bike rally, a coffee shop – anywhere that I could be singing, I was,” says Caylee. “So, at 13, I started playing in a bar in my hometown where my dad would have to come in. I nicknamed my dad ‘Big Daddy Security,’ cause he’d have to come in to all my shows if I was to play until I got a fake ID saying I was 18 in the state of Georgia, so I could play all these gigs and my dad didn’t have to go. He knows I got it, because I was hell-bent on getting some of these gigs and in the state of Georgia, you have to be 18 years of age or older. And at that age when I got the fake ID I was 16. And I told him, I said, ‘Well, what about this—what if I get a fake ID that says I’m only 19 or 20 years old, so you know I’m not drinking, but at least I’m getting to do my job.’ And he was like, ‘Okay.’”

Caylee is currently making her way up the country charts with “Just Friends.”

Taylor Swift has been in such a creative and prolific mode, dropping not one, but two albums (folklore, evermore) in 2020, surprising her legion of fans with new music.

She says of the reason she released her second album, evermore (which she calls the sister to folklore) so close to the release of the first was because she didn’t want to stop writing and recording songs.

“To put some context behind why this album has come out so quickly – we just never really stopped writing songs. I mean folklore came out, but Aaron (Dessner) and Jack (Attonoff) and William Bowrey and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) and I just kept on writing. We never really paused. I think we did that because it was so much fun to create, and this time is such a wild, ridiculous year, and I think we needed to create things. We didn’t really know what for,” says Taylor. “Pretty soon it became evident that this was another album, and it came together in almost the same amount of time that folklore did. So, yeah, I’ve never put out an album this quickly in succession after a brand new album, but then again I’ve never had a concept like this come to me before where I wanted to continue exploring even after an album was released. I didn’t want to move on to something else, I just wanted to keep on digging. So, evermore is out, I think it’s four-and-a-half months after folklore came out, but this is a year where I threw out a lot of rules that I used to have in my head – ‘Oh, you only put out an album once every so often’ – whatever, like I think we need music. I think I want to connect to my fans. This is stuff that I’ve written, and I’m so, so proud of it. So, I figured I’d just put it out.”

Taylor has released “no body, no crime” from her multi-week No. 1 album, evermore, to country radio.

Barry Gibb will release his anticipated new album, GREENFIELDS: The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Vol. 1 on Friday (January 8th) on Capitol Records. The 12-song collection, produced by Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton), features collaborations with Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Dolly Parton, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Alison Krauss, Jason Isbell, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Brandi Carlile, Olivia Newton-John, Tommy Emmanuel and many more.
