  • PARKER McCOLLUM RELEASES NEW SINGLE, “TO BE LOVED BY YOU.”

Parker McCollum has released his new single, “To Be Loved By You,” the follow-up to his recent No. 1 gold-certified hit “Pretty Heart.”

The song, which was released to fans on New Year’s, was written by Parker and hit singer-songwriter Rhett Akins. The Texas native says the tempo of the song changed once he hit the studio with producer Jon Randall (Dierks Bentley).

“Recording ‘To Be Loved By You” was really a unique kind of experience,” says Parker. “It was a song I think that when I wrote it with my buddy Rhett Akins, we kind of, we didn’t put a lot of energy into it. It was more of a kind of slow, balled-y song, and we got in the studio, I was with Jon Randall, and I said, ‘Man, what if we just push the limits on this one and kinda just see how far we can push the envelope here?’ It’s crazy to see how well it turned out, and it’s such a rockin’ tune and we’re stoked about it.”

Parker is set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut February 6th.

  • TAYLOR SWIFT’S LATEST, “no body, no crime,” IS BASED ON HER FASCINATION OF TRUE CRIME DRAMAS.

Taylor Swift has released her new single, “no body, no crime,” to country radio. She solely wrote the song, which appears on her new multi-week No. 1 album, evermore. The tune follows the story of “Este,” who confronts her cheating husband. She then goes missing and it is presumed by the narrator that she was murdered by her husband. Without a body, the husband cannot be tried for murder, however, Este’s friend (narrator) takes it upon herself to kill the husband, ultimately framing the mistress.

Taylor says the song is based on her fascination of true crime dramas. “Writing ‘no body, no crime’ I think was directly based on my love of true crime podcasts and Dateline type programs,” says Taylor. “Also, I just kind of got this melody in my head and I thought about my friend, Este. I’ve always thought her name was so cool, and so it all kind of came together as this sort of murder mystery type revenge plot. I asked my friend if I could use her name as the lead character, and she agreed, and then it hit me that it would be so cool if HAIM would sing on the song – Este’s band that she’s in with her sisters, Danielle and Alana. And so, it just turned into this very fun mission to create a true crime revenge song.”

Taylor’s evermore is enjoying its third nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Album Chart. A deluxe edition of the collection was released last week and features two bonus tracks, “right where you left me” and “it’s time to go.”

Jon Pardi released his new single, “Tequila Little Time,” today (Monday, January 4th). The tune, which he co-wrote with Rhett Akins and Luke Laird, is from his ACM and CMA-nominated album, Heartache Medication. Jon says the tune is really fun and goes well with a good time.

“I feel like this goes great on a boat, a lake or pool and just any kind of atmosphere of having a good time,” says Jon. “It’s about picking up a girl that’s down and maybe, maybe we want to do a shot of tequila? There’s no answer, but maybe. She starts feeling better, and it’s fun. It’s just a fun song.”

  • ONE OF JORDAN DAVIS’ FAVORITE MEMORIES OF THE LAST YEAR WAS THE RELEASE OF HIS SELF-TITLED EP.

While not on the road performing shows this past year, Jordan Davis did have several good memories over the past year, including spending a lot of time with his wife and daughter, working with OCEARCH tagging sharks, hitting No. 1 with “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot” and releasing his self-titled EP, featuring his latest single “Almost Maybes.”

“Coming off of Home State, I think one of my favorite things following artists growing up was kind of seeing the growth of ‘em, and with me, I’m at a totally different spot than I was when I was writing for Home State. I’ve been married for a couple of years, I have a daughter now, and I’m writing about those events that are happening in my life, and that’s what these songs are. I’m very grateful for where I’m at right now, and I think that shows in the songwriting of this EP. I think it also kind of digs my heels in more into the direction this new music and this next chapter is gonna go.”

  • DIERKS BENTLEY AND HIS SON RECREATE EPIC SCENE FROM THE HOCKEY MOVIE, “MIRACLE.”

While living out in Telluride, Dierks Bentley and his son Knox are taking part in one of the father-son duo’s favorite sport, hockey. In a video Dierks recently posted to his socials, he and Knox “re-create” a scene from the 2004 film, “Miracle,” which was based on the United States men’s ice hockey team, led by head coach Herb Brooks (played by Kurt Russell), that won the gold medal in the 1980 Winter Olympics. The U.S. victory over the favored Soviets was dubbed “Miracle on Ice.”

  • ERIC CHURCH WROTE AND RECORDED NEW MUSIC PRIOR TO THE QUARANTINE.

Eric Church has been releasing new music over the past few months. He surprised fans with “Bad Mother Trucker,” “Crazyland,” an ode to his fans “Through My Ray-Bans” and a tribute to those who’ve been there for him “Doing Life With Me.”

Eric says he recorded these and other songs in December (2019) and January 2020, long before we knew there was a global pandemic on the way. “We made this project before COVID ever existed. So, for me, we never came in reacting to COVID. We made this project, we wrote this project, we recorded this project before we ever knew what COVID was,” the North Carolina native told reporters during a virtual press conference at the recent CMA Awards. “I think a lot of that is a little bit divine that if you listen to the songs and you hear what the songs are, you very easily go, ‘This sounds like they were in the middle of quarantine,’ but we weren’t. I was not. So, for me, it just kind of happened the way it was supposed to happen. I did not make this album after COVID happened. I made it before.”

Eric is currently making his way up the country charts with “Hell of a View.”

Audio / Backstage at the recent CMA Awards in November, Eric Church talked about recording his new project before COVID hit, even though some of the songs may sound like he wrote and recorded them during the middle of the pandemic.

  • CARRIE UNDERWOOD GIVE FANS A CHRISTMAS “GIFT.”

Carrie Underwood gave her fans an amazing Christmas gift; she announced a new album is coming. On Christmas Day, Carrie took to her socials to reveal she didn’t want to stop making music, so she said her new album, titled My Savior, which will be filled with gospel hymns she grew up singing, should arrive just in time for Easter.

“I’ve been making music that I love and been giving my heart to the Lord with My Gift, and you guys have been so wonderful to support, lots of love and support, which I have felt every step of the way,” says Carrie. I basically didn’t want all of that to end, when I was making this music, I felt like my soul was in such a great place, I wanted to keep making music like the music off of My Gift.”

She adds, “I made an album called My Savior, which is hopefully a little companion to My Gift. “This album is full of gospel hymns that I grew up singing.”

Carrie finished by saying, “It’s just been such a blessing to make music like this, music that is near and dear to my heart, and I hope you guys enjoy listening to it as much as I loved making it.”
