    ABOUT BREAKTHROUGH
BREAKTHROUGH is based on the inspirational true story of one mother’s unfaltering love in the face of impossible odds. When Joyce Smith’s adopted son John falls through an icy Missouri lake, all hope seems lost. But as John lies lifeless, Joyce refuses to give up. Her steadfast belief inspires those around her to continue to pray for John’s recovery, even in the face of every case history and scientific prediction. From producer DeVon Franklin (Miracles from Heaven) and adapted for the screen by Grant Nieporte (Seven Pounds) from Joyce Smith’s own book, BREAKTHROUGH, directed by Roxann Dawson, is an enthralling reminder that faith and love can create a mountain of hope, and sometimes even a miracle.

  • JOSH TURNER’S MUSICAL INFLUENCE AND VINYL COLLECTION STARTED WITH HIS GRANNY.

Josh Turner’s I Serve a Savior is being released on vinyl tomorrow (March 8th), and part of his love for actual records stems from his grandmother’s collection.

“My first recollections of vinyl records actually came from when I was really, really young when my daddy’s mama would babysit me. I called her Granny, and she had a huge record collection in her house, and most of her records were either southern gospel or bluegrass or country, a lot of the Opry stars,” recalls Josh. “I remember her having records from Roy Acuff and Ernest Tubb and Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings and the Osborne Brothers and the Stanley Brothers and there’s just all the southern gospel quartets that were out back in those days. I acquired a good many of those records, I’m proud to say.”

When he was a college student in Nashville, he discovered a rare find in a local antique store. “One of the coolest finds that I made there in Nashville was actually the Johnny Cash Ring of Fire record,” says Josh. “When I brought it home and opened it up, I realized that Johnny Cash had actually taken a ballpoint pen and actually signed the label on it, which was pretty cool.”

Josh returns to Nashville’s historic Grand Ole Opry House for an Opry performance and in-store signing on Friday.

Audio / Josh Turner says his grandmother's vinyl collection is responsible for his musical foundation.

Audio / Josh Turner recalls a great vinyl record find in a Nashville antique store and talks about how many records are in his collection.

“Even when I moved to Nashville and started going to Belmont as a college student, I would go around to antique stores there in Nashville and one of the coolest finds that I made there in Nashville was actually the Johnny Cash Ring of Fire record. When I brought it home and opened it up, I realized that Johnny Cash had actually taken a ballpoint pen and actually signed the label on it, which was pretty cool. But as far as a number of how many that is in my personal collection – if I had to take a guess – I’d probably say 2, 300 maybe. I don’t think it’s any more than that, but yeah, I have quite a few [laughs] that I’ve collected over the years.”

  • CLARE DUNN TAKES TO THE BIG STAGES IN THE LONE STAR STATE; READIES FOR 2019 CMT NEXT WOMEN OF COUNTRY TOUR.

MCA/Universal Nashville recording artist Clare Dunn made a splash at two high-profile events over the last two weeks. The artist, dubbed “absolutely magnetic” by Rolling Stone, delivered a powerful halftime performance during the Dallas Mavericks’ Country Night, presented by Budweiser, on February 22nd.  The CMT Next Women of Country alum — who joins Cassadee Pope and Hannah Ellis on the road next month — performed a four-song set at American Airlines Center, bringing the crowd to its feet in applause as she closed.

Cassadee Pope, Clare’s 2019 CMT Next Women of Country Tour-mate says, “Clare Dunn is just phenomenal and has been really grinding it out over the last few years. I’ve always looked at her as such a hard working woman in music, so I’m really excited to go out on the road with her and see her in action.”

A passionate live performer (lauded by The Boston Globe for her “big voice and serious guitar prowess”), Clare followed that arena standing ovation with a performance she’s dreamed of: a spot on the stage of RFD-TV’s The American — the world’s richest one-day rodeo — before an audience of nearly 30K.

“I watched the very first American a couple years ago on TV, while on the phone to my sister, like it was a Super Bowl game. I think the idea of allowing ‘unknown’ and underdog western athletes to compete on one of the biggest stages in rodeo is really cool. I think it’s encouraging for anyone out there wanting to get into the sport — you have a chance if you have the determination.”

RFD-TV’s The American is an annual rodeo event held each year at Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. The American is now “the world’s richest weekend in Western Sports” and pays out $2.35 million through a series of qualifiers, The Semi-Finals, and the final event: RFD-TV’s The American. The event unites the top athletes in the world from the PRCA and pits them against underdogs who advance from The American Semi-Finals, together to battle for the biggest single paycheck of their lives.

“Being a part of the Cavender’s event this weekend was so cool for me. I’ve shopped at Cavender’s since I was little so to have done an event with them before the rodeo was surreal – they’re fantastic folks. Then to step on the American stage before 30k rodeo fans, was absolutely a blast!!! I loved every second of it and it was just an honor to play in front of all those hardworking people.”

Prior to her Sunday, March 3 performance, Clare was a special guest at Cavender’s “Kickoff for The American” party at the Cavender’s Stock Yards store (Saturday, March 2). The event hosted top western vendors, media and fashion influencers from around the country. Clare performed an acoustic set and even had a duet partner — 3-year-old Lydia, the daughter of Rodeo Athlete Blake Knowles and wife Whitney.

  • JOSH TURNER’S NO. 1 ALBUM I SERVE A SAVIOR WILL BE RELEASED ON VINYL MARCH 8TH.

Josh Turner’s I Serve A Savior earned debut placements across multiple charts, including No. 1 on Nielsen’s Country Albums Chart and No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart and Billboard’s Top Christian Albums Chart. The album remained Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart for 17 consecutive weeks and it continues to be Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums Chart since its Oct. 26 release. Now, the “musically brilliant” (Worship Musician) album is available on vinyl beginning March 8. Pre-order available now including exclusive packages, autographed options and more. Click HERE for additional information.

“There is a specialness to vinyl records,” shares Turner. “Even today with the newer records being made into vinyl it has that vintage feel. I think a lot people are getting back into that now. It’s introducing the younger generation to that way of listening to music. It’s more simple and takes a lot of the technology aspect out of it. It’s still cool to go through my vinyl collection and throw one on the turntable and listen to one, it takes you back in time in a sense.”

I Serve A Savior marks Turner’s first appearance on Billboard’s Christian charts and it is his eighth top ten appearance on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart for the multi-platinum-selling singer.

Adding a new dimension to the GRAMMY® nominee’s already acclaimed career, the faith-based collection produced by Kenny Greenburg includes hand-picked hymns, alongside brand-new originals and live recordings of some of Turner’s most memorable hits including “Me and God” and “Long Black Train.” A portion of the 90-minute live performance DVD released in addition to the project will continue to air this month on numerous networks throughout the U.S. and Canada. Click HERE for more information on networks and air times.

In addition to his regular touring, Turner is performing as part of the unique Nashville House Concerts Live at War Memorial Auditorium on Thursday, March 7 and he will be returning to Nashville’s historic Grand Ole Opry House for an Opry performance and in-store signing this Friday, March 8 at 7pm. For tickets and more information, go to www.JoshTurner.com.

    About Josh Turner:
With his rich, deep voice and distinctive style, MCA Nashville recording artist Josh Turner is one of country music’s most recognizable hit-makers. From his 2003 Platinum-selling debut Long Black Train to his 2017 Billboard No. 1 release, Deep South, Turner has scored multiple GRAMMY®, CMA and ACM Awards nominations and received six Inspirational Country Music Awards. As one of the youngest members inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, Turner has sold more than 8 million units, topped more than 1.7 billion in global streaming and populated radio with such memorable hits as “Hometown Girl,” “Would You Go With Me,” “Your Man,” “Time Is Love,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance” and “Long Black Train.”

With his latest, I Serve A Savior, Turner adds an exciting new dimension to his already acclaimed career. I Serve A Savior is a thoughtful gospel collection that finds Turner’s rich, distinctive baritone paired with timeless classics including “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Great Is Your Faithfulness,” as well as introducing originals including the title track, “I Serve A Savior,” and “The River (of Happiness),” written by his wife, Jennifer, and their eldest son, Hampton.

Turner is a disciple of traditional country music, a mentor to up-and-coming artists, and one of the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry.  Turner has been an Opry member for over 10 years and he recently reveled in his 150th performance on the famed Opry circle.

The Hannah, S.C. native has been songwriting and performing since he was a child, and in support of music education, he created The Josh Turner Scholarship Fund to assist students interested in pursuing a future in arts and music. As a high school student, Turner had very little access to music education, therefore realizes first-hand the importance of arts education in schools. Josh Turner (vinyl records) OC: …to begin with. 1:15
“I remember the first vinyl I ever owned was probably this Hank Williams Greatest Hits record that my daddy owned. He passed it down to me, and my mama had a lot of vinyl records in our house growing up, so I listened to a lot of those too. So, there were vinyl records in my house growing up, but the first one I seem to remember actually buying, I was probably, I was already in my teens and I had been into what was going on on country radio during that time and I had a bunch of cassettes and I started buying CDs and all that kind of stuff. But, when I started wanting to dig into the older stuff, the only way I could really access that back then was actually going to antique stores and rummaging through vinyl records there. I remember buying stuff like Johnny Cash’s San Quentin record and Loretta Lynn’s Coal Miner’s Daughter and just all of those classic records that you associate with certain country legends. And so, that’s where I kind of started buying vinyl records to begin with.”

Audio / Josh Turner says his Granny's vinyl record collection laid the foundation for him musically.

  • JORDAN DAVIS GIVES SOUND ADVICE FOR FIRST-TIMERS AT MARDI GRAS.

Jordan Davis, who just served as the Grand Marshal for the Krewe of Centaur parade, grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and since he’s experienced Mardi Gras pretty much every year of his life, he’s got a lot of advice for those attending for the first time.

“My main piece of advice is everybody needs to experience New Orleans at least once,” says Jordan. “Another piece is just pace yourself. It is pretty much a month-long party, so just pace yourself, try to stay hydrated that’s not alcohol, have a blast and catch a bunch of beads. Get a sign – that’s another piece of advice. If you’re really going after beads, get something that catches their eyes. Also, when it comes to making signs, best advice, make it a hoop, ‘cause if you have somebody on a float, if they have something to throw at, you’re gonna get a ton more beads.”

The Louisiana native just scored his second No. 1 song this week with “Take It From Me.” Jordan is also nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at next month’s ACM Awards, which will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas April 7th at 8pm ET on CBS.
