• CHRIS STAPLETON RELEASES NEW SINGLE “WHITE HORSE;” ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM, HIGHER, OUT IN NOVEMBER.

Chris Stapleton has released his new single, “White Horse,” which he co-wrote with Dan Wilson. The song was written over a decade ago when Dan and Chris were asked to write a song for a movie, however, it didn’t make the final cut of the film.

“’White Horse’ was a song that I wrote with my friend, Dan Wilson,” says Chris. “We were out in Los Angeles, it was about I think probably late 2012, early 2013, and there was a movie called the Lone Ranger that was coming out, and I walked in the room to write with Dan at his house, and he said, ‘Hey they’re looking for songs for this Lone Ranger movie.’ I said, ‘Cool. Let’s write something. What do you know about it?’ He goes, ‘Well, we don’t really know anything.’ I was like, ‘Well, let’s just make a song that might sound like that.’ And so, that’s kind of where that came from, and we got to talking about how it would be cool to have a kind of rock-driven-western-themed song, and that’s kind of where the song came from and we kind of built it around a guitar riff, really.”

Chris co-produced “White Horse” with Dave Cobb and his wife Morgane Stapleton.

    WHITE HORSE LYRICS:

This love is getting kinda dangerous
Feels like it’s a loaded gun
My mind, it’s turning like a cloud of dust
My heart always wants to run

    Oh Oh Oh
If you want a cowboy on a white horse
    Riding off into the sunset
If that’s the kinda love you wanna wait for
Hold on tight girl I ain’t there yet
    No I ain’t there yet
    No I ain’t there yet

    White Horse

Someday maybe you could have your way
Right now’s just not the time
Some things a man’s just got to do
I wish you could change my mind

    Oh Oh Oh
If you want a cowboy on a white horse
    Riding off into the sunset
If that’s the kinda love you wanna wait for
Hold on tight girl I ain’t there yet
    No I ain’t there yet
    No I ain’t there yet

    White Horse

If you want a cowboy on a white horse
    Riding off into the sunset
If that’s the kinda love you wanna wait for
Hold on tight girl I ain’t there
If you want a cowboy on a white horse
    Riding off into the sunset
If that’s the kinda love you wanna wait for
Hold on tight girl I ain’t there yet
    No I ain’t there yet
    No I ain’t there yet

  • PARKER McCOLLUM SHARES ONE THING HE’S LEARNED OVER THE PAST YEAR OF BEING MARRIED.

Parker McCollum and his wife Hallie Ray Light celebrated their first anniversary as a married couple in March. The pair, who tied the knot in March 2022 in Tomball, Texas, are still learning a few things about navigating this beautiful journey together. There’s one thing Parker has discovered the main thing his wife wants over anything else, and that’s his time.

“You know what? I say the thing that I’ve probably learned the past year – you can take a girl anywhere she wants to go, buy her anything you want to buy her, but your quality time is like the number-one thing that they really care about, at least mine does, and it’s the one thing I just don’t have a surplus of,” he says. “And so I’ve learned really to, and it’s hard for me to relax and slow down. I’m just always, always going.  It’s kind of where [album title] Never Enough comes from.  You know she handles it really well. She’s really easy on me.  But I have learned more than anything that is it my time that probably goes the furthest with her.”

Parker is climbing his way up the country chart with “Burn It Down,” from his recent album release, Never Enough.

Audio / Parker McCollum has been married over a year, and he's learned a few things during that time.

  • CARRIE UNDERWOOD GETS “OUT OF THAT TRUCK” FOR LATEST SINGLE.

Carrie Underwood is climbing the country charts with her latest single, “Out Of That Truck,” which she co-wrote with David Garcia and Lydia Vaughan. Not only did Carrie have a great time writing it, but she and the musicians were “digging” the song in the studio, as well.

“We had a lot of fun recording ‘Out Of That Truck’ in the studio,” says Carrie. “I feel like all the guys playing, all the musicians that are playing on it were digging it, and that’s always really great. It’s a great sign when you kind of feel like everybody’s into it and having fun with it. It was pretty straightforward. We had a really great demo to start with because David Garcia put that together, and of course he’s my co-producer on many things we’ve worked on together. But, yeah, it was just a lot of fun. The guys brought it, and singing it is a fun thing. This one’s I hope one of those ones that people can just turn up in their cars or their trucks and sing along to.”

“Out Of That Truck” is one of six new songs featured on the upcoming deluxe edition of Carrie’s Denim & Rhinestones album, available September 22nd.

Carrie will also join Guns N’ Roses once again this Summer for three stadium dates on the North American leg of their 2023 World Tour, including Croix-Bieue Medavie Stadium in Moncton, NB, Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal QE, and GEODIS Park in Nashville, TN.

  • ANNE WILSON TEAMS UP WITH DUNKIN’® TO SUPPORT CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS IN NASHVILLE.

GRAMMY-nominated artist, songwriter and 2023 Dunkin’® ambassador Anne Wilson has teamed up with Dunkin’® to spread joy at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt this morning, July 19. The heartwarming event featured Wilson’s visit to Seacrest Studios for an intimate performance and patient-led interview followed by a donut decorating party to celebrate the return of Dunkin’s “Gold Joy” donut, all aimed at bringing happiness and support to children fighting cancer at Monroe Carell and beyond.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to spend a morning with the amazing kids at Monroe Carell,” shares Wilson. “It warms my heart to bring a moment of joy to their day while we shared music, played games and had a blast decorating donuts from Dunkin’. The resilience and strength these children possess is truly inspiring and I feel blessed to have shared this experience with them. Thank you to Monroe Carrell and Dunkin’ for allowing us to create unforgettable memories.”

Starting today (July 19th) until Saturday, August 5th, Dunkin’ is inviting its customers to “shine gold” in a joint effort to bolster the mission of the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation: bring joy to children afflicted with illness. The Shine Gold initiative allows guests at participating Dunkin’ locations throughout Nashville to make a $2 donation to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, and in return will receive a free Gold Joy Donut as an expression of gratitude. The Gold Joy Donut — a traditional donut ring decorated with gold icing, yellow sprinkles and crowned with a glazed MUNCHKINS® Donut Hole Treat — pays homage to the childhood cancer awareness ribbon. Thanks to the generosity of Dunkin’ franchisees throughout Nashville, 100 percent of funds raised from the Dunkin’ Gold Joy Donut will be donated to local children’s hospitals like Monroe Carell.

Wilson is no stranger to bringing a message of hope and healing with her music. Last year, she launched “Hey Girl Nation” as a community for her fans to connect, encourage self confidence and remind members of their self-worth. She also released her first book, “My Jesus: From Heartache to Hope from Thomas Nelson” where Wilson shares her detailed path to healing to help those facing similar experiences.

Following the recent announcement of her and Capitol Christian Music Group’s partnership with Universal Music Group Nashville, Wilson has allowed fans to connect with her story through the release of “Seventh of June,” a deeply personal and heartfelt tribute to her beloved late brother Jacob. The critically acclaimed songstress has also revealed her highly anticipated headlining tour, the My Jesus Tour, with special guest Josh Baldwin, set to kick off on Sept. 28 in Houston, Texas. • BOY NAMED BANJO ANNOUNCE THEIR DUSK TIL DAWN TOUR.

Boy Named Banjo has announced their Dusk Til Dawn Tour, which will take the group coast to coast this fall. Kicking things off on September 14th in Atlanta, the band will make stops in major cities including Los Angeles, Houston, New York City and Washington, D.C. – a full list of dates can be found below. Tickets for the Dusk Til Dawn Tour go on sale this Friday, July 21 at 10am local time here, with a pre-sale tomorrow, July 18 at 10am CT.

In a time when the popular choice is to chase the double yellow line down the road to country radio, Boy Named Banjo thrives on its fringes. The Nashville-raised five-piece is a fusion of contemporary country, Americana and folk-rock stacked on a foundation of bluegrass. Their stripped-down, self-released 2012 debut, The Tanglewood Sessions, helped earn the band a spot at Bonnaroo, while their more fleshed-out 2014 follow-up, Long Story Short, led to festival slots everywhere from Hangout Fest to Dierks Bentley’s Seven Peaks. After signing with Mercury Records Nashville in 2020, the following year saw the release of their genre-defying EP Circles, which landed them a performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium alongside dates supporting the likes of Kip Moore, Hank Williams, Jr., Old Crow Medicine Show, and The Cadillac Three. In 2022, Boy Named Banjo made their CMA Fest debut playing at the Ascend Amphitheatre Nighttime Concert as well as a sold-out hometown show at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl.

Formed in their teens, Boy Named Banjo includes Barton Davies (banjo), Ford Garrard (bass/standing bass), Sam McCullough (drums) Willard Logan (mandolin, acoustic/electric guitar) and William Reames (acoustic guitar/harmonica).

Darius Rucker (CMA Music Fest) OC: …awesome. :48
“Music Fest is like nothing else. I say all the time that country music is the only genre that could have something like that. It’s truly amazing, when I come that weekend, people are everywhere and they want to be your best friend. It’s always cool and I love coming here. The thing that always gets me is the show. The fact that you can get that many superstars at one show all playing for free, for the same goal, to entertain those people that are in that stadium that come here for the whole week from all over the world. They come here for one week to see country music, and it’s amazing that those artists say on Friday and Saturday night, this is country music come on out. That’s awesome.”

Audio / Dierks Bentley, who is co-hosting CMA Fest TV special, says not only is he a performer, but attending as a fan, as well.

Dierks Bentley (CMA Fest 2023) OC: …best of the best. :48
“This is a great weekend for me, ‘cause I get to go from the Station Inn to the Stadium. I mean, I get to run my whole life in that little, you know, I started off going to watch a band play at the Station Inn back in 1994 with dreams of one day trying to make it as a country artist and nothing says country artist like playing the Stadium here in Nashville. So, it’s kind of a look back at my life in a short six-day period, and even the Hot Country Knights is like that’s to me Lower Broadway at its best…or worst. But, so it’s really, for me it’s a magical week of reflection and being a fan. I’m playing, but also just like total fan mode. I’ve always said I’m a fan of country music first and foremost, and this weekend is a great place to be a fan. It’s just the best of the best.”

Dierks Bentley (hosting CMA Fest 2023) OC: …of all time. 1:01
“Hosting the CMA Fest is the ultimate gig. It’s so fun. I mean, I’ve hosted some big awards show as well and those are great too, but this is a four-day festival, so I get to be there for four days. And which if I was doing it by myself, it would be great because you get a chance to see all your artist buddies you don’t see very often, hear great music, see the all-stars of the country music fans, people that travel from all over the world to be here and they bring the most energy. It’s the greatest fans to play in front of, BUT I get to co-host this with two of the funniest people I know – Elle King and Lainey Wilson. I mean, yes, talented beyond all talent, both incredible stylists vocally that sound like nobody else, great songwriters. You can list all that stuff. Whatever. Who cares? They’re funny. So, yeah, we’re hosting the CMA Fest. Last year it was Elle and I; this year we’re bringing on Lainey Wilson. It’s gonna be…it’s fun. It’s going to be so much fun. I cannot wait. It’s gonna be the greatest CMA Fest of all time.”

Audio / Eric Church says CMA Fest is special and unique to country music.

Eric Church (CMA Music Fest) OC: …barrage of  music. :32
“Well, I think it’s what makes country music unique. Find me another format that happens in, it’s just not something that happens. I think it’s because country music is the one format where the fans…the music is really about them. And we’re them; we’re not different than them. We’re not a lot of the rock stars and a lot of the other guys where they’re their own person, they’re their own agenda…they’re not like the people that are listening to them. It’s different in country, we are. We come from there, we are that. I think it’s just a great thing for them to be able to come to our town and to get just this barrage of music.”

Audio / KEITH URBAN TALKS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY SPIRIT SURROUNDING CMA FEST.

Keith Urban (CMA Fest 2023) OC: …always need it, though. :29
“The good thing about CMA Fest is it’s historically always comes at a time when it feels like we need it the most. When we were here back in 2010 after the Nashville floods and doing a special performance, I think CMA Fest was really acknowledging what everybody had gone through and the floods, and so I think it’s such a community spirit out there, not just Nashville, but the country community coming together and celebrating life and the moment. We always need it, though.”

I always remember my first ones and starting out and doing River Stages and always dreaming of coming over here and performing at LP Field (now Nissan Stadium) and all of the stuff building the fan base early in the week. It’s an amazing week for Nashville, and it’s a great week for me. And then I get to be home and do all this stuff. It’s always been a fun week for me. A lot of my family always comes in for this week.”

Vince Gill (CMA Fest 2023) OC: …grateful. 1:03
“This is a genre of music unlike anything that I’ve ever experienced. It’s a grateful artist base. It’s grateful for the people that give us the opportunity to do what we do, you know, whether it’s at the Fairgrounds or whether it’s a bigger place. I don’t know if it ever really mattered. All those people out there that buy a ticket to come and do this whether they stand in line to get somebody’s autograph or go to a show or whatever. They’re just here because they like what we do, you know? And it feels good to let them know they’re appreciated and not be standoffish and not be that way. So, I’ve always enjoyed it. This is about my 40th year of doing anything connected with whatever they call it. (laughs) I don’t even know anymore (laughs), but it’s still the same thing. It’s just a bunch of people that loves what everybody does and man, it’s great for everybody to hang and just sitting backstage running into so and so and running into so and so, you don’t get to see them very often. So, you know grateful.”

  • JOSH ROSS UNVEILS HIS LATEST TRACK “AIN’T DOIN’ JACK,” OUT NOW; MOST NOMINATED ARTIST AT THE CCMAS.

Today, country singer-songwriter and hitmaker Josh Ross shares his latest track “Ain’t Doin’ Jack,” available everywhere here.

Originally envisioned as an emotional ballad, Ross was inspired to transform “Ain’t Doin’ Jack” to an upbeat country-rock anthem once he was invited to join acclaimed rock band, Nickelback, on tour this summer. Appealing to fans of both genres, the Nashville-recorded song is tailor-made for his energetic live performance, and Ross kicks off the party with the track each night on the GET ROLLIN’ TOUR.

“’Ain’t Doin’ Jack’ was written with my good friends Mason Thornley, Ben Stoll, and Sam Martinez on a writing retreat in the Smoky Mountains,” shares Ross. Ben originally had the idea about Jack Daniel’s not doing the trick to get over a girl. When we first started writing the song, we thought of doing it as a sad ballad. But while we were on the writing trip, we got the news that I was going to be opening for Nickelback on their Get Rollin’ Tour, so we thought making it a country-rock song for our live set would be a cool idea. All of this happened before we knew it would even be released, so I’m excited to share it.”

The track follows previous releases from Ross including “Red Flags,” a pair of Top 5 Canadian country radio hits – “On A Different Night” and “First Taste of Gone” – and his debut US single, “Trouble,” that hit country radio this summer. Since its release, “Trouble” has surpassed 40 million streams globally and is climbing charts in Canada, US, and Australia.

Ross was recently announced to support Bailey Zimmerman on RELIGIOUSLY. THE TOUR. in 2024, after previously joining Zimmerman on a run of shows earlier this year. Ross continues to gain new fans while on Nickelback’s GET ROLLIN’ TOUR with Brantley Gilbert, taking the stage in Inglewood, CA (7/14) and Las Vegas, NV (7/15) this weekend.
