• ANNE WILSON STRIKES “COUNTRY GOLD” IN NEW DUET WITH JORDAN DAVIS.

PLATINUM-certified, GRAMMY-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson gives fans another look at her forthcoming album, REBEL, with the highly-anticipated duet “Country Gold” (with Jordan Davis) today, March 22nd.

Arriving in full on Friday, April 19th, REBEL is a genre-defying collection capturing Wilson’s signature faith-infused Country sound. Wilson also celebrates her first-time CMT Award nomination for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year for “Rain In The Rearview” which first premiered on the CMT/Paramount Time Square billboard in January.

Wilson’s new collaboration with Davis comes just months after first sharing the stage with him at the 2023 ACM Honors for a live performance of “Buy Dirt.” Serving as the first of three duets on the album, “Country Gold” written by Wilson, Jeff Pardo and Matthew West, pulls inspiration from the biblical meaning of “gold” equating a symbol of spiritual wealth. Wilson and Davis expertly blend their unique, warm vocals as they weave heartfelt narratives from their family histories, emphasizing the joy found in life’s simple moments.

“I am so excited about my new song ‘Country Gold’ with Jordan Davis,” shares Wilson. “I’m a huge fan of Jordan’s music, and I’m honored to have him join me. This song is all about roots and remembering where the good stuff in life really is. I love the line that says, ‘the richest people that I’ve ever known struck country gold,’ and I hope you do too. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

Set to become “a cherished addition to the libraries of fans of both genres,” (Holler) REBEL will see Wilson joining forces with even more industry heavyweights. Still to come with the full album on April 19 is a duet with reigning 2023 CMA Entertainer of the year, Lainey Wilson, for “Praying Woman” and GRAMMY Award-winner Chris Tomlin for “The Cross.” A co-writer on each of the album’s 16 tracks, Wilson teamed up with some of Music Row’s most in-demand songwriters such as Nicolle Galyon, Emily Weisband, Matthew West and Trannie Anderson for a revolutionary project firmly rooted in both Country and Christian music, produced by Jeff Pardo and Jonathan Smith.

Earlier this month, Wilson captivated viewers nationwide with her morning television debut on Fox & Friends’ series ‘Faith & Friends Weekend.’ Performing live in the heart of the Big Apple, Wilson delivered her uplifting single “Strong” that is No.3 and climbing at Christian radio. She also celebrated International Women’s Day by stopping by The Bobby Bones Show to perform “Rain In The Rearview” and “Strong,” and chat with Bobby about what you can expect from her upcoming record.

WATCH: “STRONG” ON ‘FAITH & FRIENDS’

The Opry NextStage Class of 2024 member released “God & Country” in Feb., giving fans a sneak peek into the multifaceted artistry on REBEL. As her commanding vocals lead the track that MusicRow dubs a “spectacular show-stopper,” Wilson revisits her Kentucky roots growing up in the heart of the heartland. As the anticipation for REBEL builds, Wilson’s current single “Rain In The Rearview” continues to turn heads at Country radio.

Named as part of Spotify’s 2024 Hot Country Artists to Watch, Wilson just wrapped her first Country tour as direct support on Scotty McCreery’s Cab In A Solo Tour. This summer, she will grace the stages of both Country and Christian music’s most sought-after festivals including Tortuga Festival, Big As Texas Fest, Country Concert, Alive Music Festival and Kingdom Bound. Anne Wilson (Country Gold) OC: …of it all. :29
“‘Country Gold’ is a song about the good stuff in life that a lot of people tend to overlook, including myself sometimes. I wrote this song about my roots, about the ground beneath my feet where I grew up in Kentucky. It’s about the beauty of a small town, traditional family, the value of hard work and what my family taught me are the things that make up for a rich life. I love this song so much, and I’m so honored to have my friend Jordan Davis sing on it with me. I hope people hear this song and get a good reminder to remember where they come from and see the beauty of it all.”

Audio / Darius Rucker talks about the video for "Fires Don't Start Themselves," in which he plays a detective hot on the trail of a young couple whose passionate love is setting their town ablaze, both literally and figuratively.

    Download

Darius Rucker (Fires Don’t Start Themselves video) OC: …happy about that. :46
“I love acting. I love… It’s a lot of fun. And the actors you get to act with are so giving and make it so easy for you and fun and everything. But that video, when they told me I wasn’t going to do any performance, I was so happy, because that’s so the cliché (for) the video. You have other people acting and then you do the performance. But when they told me I was going to play a detective, I put on my inner Stabler, because I’m such a Law and Order and CSI fan, so I put on my inner Stabler and went out and did it. And the girl I worked with, she was so fun; she was so funny. And you know that donut scene, when I see it, there’s no words and it still makes me laugh every time I see it. But yeah, that was a lot of fun and I’d love to do a lot more of that, but, you know, we’ll see if it comes. If it comes, I’ll take it. If not, I’ll keep doing this music thing. I’ll be happy about that.”

Audio / REBA MCENTIRE TALKS ABOUT THE EMOTIONAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR "SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN."

    Download

Reba McEntire (music video for Seven Minutes In Heaven) OC: …it still hurts. 1:08
“I picked out the lady to play mama, Eleanor. She did a great job. And she was a sweetheart to get to work with. That is exactly what I thought it would look like if I went to heaven and it was, you know, with the smoke coming in and out, made it look really heavenly. And I thought it would be something familiar, something that you’d feel comfortable with. God thinks of everything. And so, to walk up to the booth, and the next time I walk up and mama’s there and I put my arms on her shoulders, Eleanor’s hands were very similar to mama’s when she was young. So that got me to, they kept saying, ‘Okay, let’s do it again. I said, ‘Okay, let’s take a little break here. Get in here to redo my makeup. Because I would, I just bawled. And Eleanor was sitting across from me at the booth, and she’d see me crying. She’d try to reach for a napkin out of the napkin dispenser on the table. And I’d say, ‘Eleanor, that’s okay. It’s part of the video.’ ‘You don’t want to wipe?’ I said, ‘I’m good. I’m good.’ But she was just like a mother, you know, and they’re trying to make sure everything was all right. It was healing. It was healing for me to do that video and kind of like get it out because it still hurts.”

Audio / JORDAN DAVIS TALKS ABOUT WRITING HIS TWO-WEEK NO. 1 SMASH, "NEXT THING YOU KNOW."

    Download

Jordan Davis (writing Next Thing You Know) OC: …song is today. :59
“There’s a saying that says ‘raising kids – the days are long, the years are short,’ and that’s what this song is to me. I kind of came in wanting to write something like that, you know kind of a slow down time song, and Greylan had this idea. The idea initially was about going to a bar or going somewhere and meeting somebody and then just the progression of a relationship. I kind of hijacked the title and said, ‘Hey man. I love that title, but we’re going to write it in the sense of having kids, watching ‘em grow up and hopefully becoming a grandparent, you know? Chase McGill and Josh Osborne both have kiddos, and I think they kind of grabbed on it. Greylan, hats off to him. He’s the single kid of the group, so he was like, ‘Man, I’ll go there. I don’t know how much input I can be able to say in this, but I’ll go there with you.’ I mean, he’s a great writer, and it was fun to kind of see the title that he threw out evolve into what the song is today.”

Audio / ON THE SET OF THE FILMING OF HER NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR "RAIN IN THE REARVIEW," ANNE WILSON EXPLAINS THE CONCEPT BEHIND IT.

    Download

Anne Wilson (BTS RITR video) 2 OC: …in this video. :37
“So, I love this music video so much. We were working through the idea and concept behind it. It was really about portraying three different versions of myself – the happy version, which is the healed version; the driver, which is kind of plowing through everything and then the one that is sad and kind of looking on the past and reflecting what has come before. And I love the reminder in this music video and getting to work with T.K. McKamy on this treatment of how can we take this song and dive deeper into what it means? And I think in life we all go through different seasons where we’re either fully healed, we’re still looking back and struggling with depression and anxiety from the past or we’re driving in the seat and we’re going ahead for what’s to come. So, I love that we got to portray all three of those in this video.”

    ABOUT ANNE WILSON:
One of Nashville’s most inspiring young trailblazers, Anne Wilson is a true “rebel” in modern music. The Lexington, Ky. native, known for her transcendent vocal and down-to-earth storytelling, recently released REBEL (The Beginning), a three-pack of songs fusing the heart of Contemporary Christian Music with the sound of Country, and allowing the emerging powerhouse to innovate as her career builds momentum. Co-produced by Jeff Pardo and Jonathan Smith, the project kicks off with two singles bridging Wilson’s sonic influences. The hurricane force encouragement of “Rain In The Rearview” stands as Wilson’s debut Country single, while the soaring ballad “Strong” will simultaneously aim to continue the success she has earned in Contemporary Christian. Taking the music world by storm, Wilson delivered her first public performance at 15, singing “What a Beautiful Name” at her brother’s funeral in a moving expression of faith which soon went viral. A few short years later, her 2021 debut single “My Jesus” became a PLATINUM-certified single and hit No.1 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart. Since then, she has tallied more than 880 M global streams, made her Grand Ole Opry debut and scored a GRAMMY nomination for her 2022 debut album My Jesus. She continues to thrill live audiences, performing over 250 shows in the first two years of her career, and just wrapped her entirely sold-out headlining My Jesus Tour as she kicks off 2024 on the road with Scotty McCreery. There’s much more to come from this modern musical revolution as she prepares to unveil her genre-bending album REBEL on April 19. Approaching her craft with a purpose and conviction that sets her apart, she declares, “I am who I am — I’m Anne Wilson. I love God and that’s my everything, but I love Country music, too, and I can have a beautiful mix of both.”

“‘God & Country’ is a song about what makes me me. Every house gets built on a foundation, and the more solid the foundation is, the longer that house is gonna stand. I think life is a lot like that too. I’m so thankful for the way my Mama and Daddy raised me. It taught the value of hard work, an appreciation for the simple things, a love for my country and an appreciation for the men and women who protect the freedoms that we all enjoy. Most of all, it taught me about a God who loves me. I can’t think of a stronger foundation than that. These days, I feel like I’m getting to reach a lot of new people with my music, so I wrote this song as a way of introducing myself. This is who I am, this is where I come from and this is the solid ground my life is built on – God and Country.”

  • ANNE WILSON TAKES FOLKS BEHIND-THE-SCENES OF THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR “RAIN IN THE REARVIEW.”

Last week, Anne Wilson released the official music video for her debut country single, “Rain In The Rearview,” and the wardrobe she had plays a big part in the message of the song and of her upcoming album.

“I love the wardrobe in this music video,” says Anne. “We took all the looks from our photo shoot that we did out in Wyoming for the new record, Rebel, and we pulled it all together and kind of repurposed some of this wardrobe and really the storyline from the record and kind of every song so far on the record. And how can we tie in the wardrobe to connect back to the theme of the record, which to me is more mature. It’s stepping into this next season of my life and this next record.”

She just released a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video, which incorporates not only the wardrobe, but her sister as well.

Anne is currently on tour with Scotty McCreery for his Cab In A Solo Tour as direct support, marking her first-ever Country tour. The tour will trek across the U.S. with stops in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston and more. Tickets are available for purchase at annewilsonofficial.com.
