Nashville, TN – July 18, 2014 – Seven-time GRAMMY winning trio Lady Antebellum announced today that their fifth studio album 747 will land in stores on Sept. 30. The album’s sultry lead single “Bartender” is already soaring up the country charts to become one of their fastest rising singles.  Nathan Chapman co-produced the 11-song disc with Lady A for the Capitol Records Nashville release.

“We unanimously knew that our album title had to be 747,” said Lady A’s Hillary Scott. “The track itself has this pushing, driving spirit about it that sums up our attitude right now.  We are pushing ourselves as a band and as songwriters…taking ourselves out of our comfort zone and not taking ourselves too seriously.   There’s an urgency and an energy to it that we’ve never released before.”

“We are so ready to get this music out,” continued Charles Kelley. “To get the reaction we’ve gotten from ‘Bartender’ has only made us more fired up about the rest of these songs!”

“We had the opportunity to write with some new songwriters and really dig for outside songs that were songs we wish we’d written,” added Dave Haywood. “As we took them into the studio, we changed our approach and challenged ourselves to try some new things that were outside of what we’d done before.”

AUDIO: Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley says the band listened to every song and wrote more than they have for their forthcoming album, 747, than they have for any other album.

Lady A (Charles-listened to every song) OC: …new determination. :32
“I was listening to every single song that every publisher in town was sending me. I didn’t care. I was so afraid for a great song to miss, for us to miss the boat. And so, we probably listened to and wrote more than we have done in our whole lives, maybe until the very beginning, because we didn’t have spouses and you could live and breathe every moment. [Hillary laughs] So, I think that’s the hardest thing, once you start having a real life is making sure that this still is always your focus, because this is what drives us. I don’t know. I just think this has been a big part of this record process more than anything – just a new determination.”

AUDIO: Brothers Osborne returned to their hometown of Deale, Maryland to shoot the video for their current single, “Rum.”

Bros. Osborne (Rum video) OC: …emulate that. :30
“We went back to our hometown of Deale, Maryland, just to kind of give people a little bird’s eye view of what it’s like where we come from. A lot of people are confused that we got into country music being from Maryland, and they don’t realize how country it is up there. So, we wanted people to kind of see that, and we also wanted people to realize what really the perspective of ‘Rum’ was, which wasn’t sitting on the beach. It was about really from the perspective of being in our hometown which is very blue collar, a lot of people who don’t have money to go to the beach, so they kind of make their own little moments and their own paradise. And so, we just really wanted to emulate that.”

“I think ‘Day Drinking’ is a good jump into the record. It’s bold (PHILLIP: “It’s fun.”), it’s loud and fun, and there’s a lot of fun tunes on this record too, and I’m excited about that part of it, as well.”

KAREN: “It went differently in the studio than the last record did. The last record was really fast and very spontaneous. This one was too,but it was a little more…” JIMI: “It was a little laborious. We worked on it. We had to get in there and wrestle with it. [laughs]” KAREN: “But the payoff…” JIMI: “Yeah. I’m so excited for everybody to hear this record. It makes me happy in my soul musically. I think that’s all you can ask for at the end of the day is to have gone in and gave it your best shot and just chase the music and let it lead you where you need to go. And that’s kind of what happened, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how it came out.”
