  • ERIC CHURCH’S ‘GIVE ME BACK MY HOMETOWN’ IS A LONELY SONG. (AUDIO)

Eric Church is poised to hit the top of the country charts with his latest single, “Give Me Back My Hometown,” and he says it’s one of the loneliest songs he’s ever recorded.

“Something that anybody knows more than anybody else is their hometown. That’s where they’re most comfortable, that’s their comfort,” says the North Carolina native. “The loneliest thing about this song to me is here’s a guy who’s left in that place that should be the most comforting place to him, and it’s actually the place that haunts him because the girl left him and there’s memories of her everywhere.”

“Give Me Back My Hometown” is from Eric’s latest album, The Outsiders.

Eric Church (Hometown-lonely) OC: …more lonesome songs. :38
“Something that anybody knows more than anybody else is their hometown. That’s where they’re most comfortable, that’s their comfort. And the loneliest thing about this song to me is here’s a guy who’s left in that place that should be the most comforting place to him, and it’s actually the place that haunts him because the girl left him and there’s memories of her everywhere. And I just thought that the loneliness of that is that emotion of that is really what I think a lot of people in the song, and myself, are attached to emotionally. It’s one of the more lonesome songs that we’ve ever done. It may not sound it production-wise, but if you listen to it, it’s one of our more lonesome songs.”

  • KACEY MUSGRAVES GIVES PROPS TO HER MOTHER’S TITLE. (AUDIO)

Kacey Musgraves gets her song ideas from real life, and for her latest single, “Keep It To Yourself,” it’s no different. The inspiration for the song came from a previous relationship, but did you know the title of the song came from…her mother?

“My mom, she’s always sending me song ideas. Here and there she’ll text me, and some of ‘em are doozies,” says Kacey. “But she had this one, she said, ‘Keep It To Yourself,’ one day, and I thought that’d be a really cool song title…I typically don’t start writing sessions off with a title, but I brought it one day to Shane McAnally and Luke Laird, and they loved it.”

Kacey is making history again by becoming the first country artist to perform at the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York May 3rd.

Kacey, who picked up the ACM Award for Album of the Year (Same Trailer Different Park), will appear in the new installment of CMT Crossroads with Katy Perry June 13th.

Kacey Musgraves (Keep It To Yourself-Mom) OC: …in again. :38
“So, ‘Keep It To Yourself,’ it’s funny, because my mom, she’s always sending me song ideas, here and there she’ll text me, and some of ‘em are doozies. But she had this one, she said, ‘Keep It To Yourself,’ one day, and I thought that’d be a really cool song title, and I just had it. I typically don’t start writing sessions off with a title, but I brought it one day to Shane McAnally and Luke Laird, and they loved it. It was a really fun one to write, because I feel like I can definitely identify with being in a position to say, ‘Look, I still have feelings for you, but I don’t need to hear about yours, because I don’t want to get sucked in again.’”

  • ERIC CHURCH PUTS SCALPERS ON NOTICE! (AUDIO & PRESS RELEASE)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Apr. 25, 2014 – Tickets are selling quickly for all shows on the first leg of Eric Church’s recently announced and highly anticipated “The Outsiders World Tour” with special guest Dwight Yoakam, and fans are encouraged to make their purchases now in order to guarantee a seat for what will undoubtedly be one of the hottest concert tours of 2014.

Over 14,000 tickets have been sold since Friday at Target Center in Minneapolis making it one of the hottest stops on the first set of announced dates. In fact, currently only a small number of seats directly behind the stage—unofficially coined “The Choir Loft”—in the upper bowl remain for Minneapolis fans who want to purchase seats for Church’s Sept. 16 show. However, that will change momentarily this afternoon (Apr. 25) at 5:00 PM/CDT, as 902 tickets have been identified as being purchased by scalpers that were in violation of the sales limits of the show. Those ticket orders have been cancelled, and the 902 tickets will be put back into the system for sale at that time.

“A lot of acts just want to sell as many tickets as they can and they don’t care who they sell them to,” said Church, a long-time foe of ticket scalping. “I want my fans to be the ones who buy tickets to my shows, and I want scalpers to back off. I can’t stop ticket scalpers completely, but I can definitely make it harder for them.”

All ticket orders for Church’s “The Outsiders World Tour” will be scrutinized to combat scalping as much as possible so that the fans can have the best opportunity to see the concert for the originally intended price.

Opening the tour on different dates throughout the first leg will be rising country music duo Brothers Osborne, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Brandy Clark, or the hard rocking band Halestorm.  For ticket dates and information, visit www.ericchurch.com.

AUDIO: Eric Church speaks out against ticket scalpers.

Eric Church (ticket scalpers) OC: …important to me. :58
“As everybody knows, I’ve always been very adamant against scalpers. I feel like the people that should end up with the tickets, the best tickets, the best seats are the fans, are the ones who’ve been there since the beginning, and they shouldn’t have to pay five-times face value to get the ticket. So, we’re gonna do a couple of things without getting too specific right now, of course the pre-sales are the initial way through the Church Choir and the best way, to get the tickets. But we’re also going to do some platinum pricing tickets through Ticketmaster and other things that, a portion of proceeds will go to charity or the tickets will go to charity, and we’ll be able to, again, keep scalpers as best we can, at bay. They have better technology and they have a lot of will to get these tickets, and it’s difficult, it’s a difficult challenge. But we’re doing everything we can to make sure the fans that ends up near the stage with us, which is what we want. So, there’s going to be a number of things we do, but it’s very, very important to me.”
