“We Were Us,” Keith Urban‘s duet with Miranda Lambert, is poised to hit No. 1 on the country charts, and the two superstars were thrilled to get to record together.

“[Miranda’s] such an incredible singer and I’ve always thought it’d be cool to do a duet together if the right song ever came along,” says Keith. “When I heard ‘We Were Us,’ it was instant. I had two thoughts. The first, that ‘THIS is the song’ and the second, ‘Man, I hope she says yes!'”

The video for “We Were Us” will debut on Friday at 7:30pm ET on Keith’s Facebook page, which will be followed by a chance to get to chat with him.

Check out the behind-the-scenes look at the making of Keith and Miranda’s soaring duet below.

  • JENNIFER NETTLES SETS A DATE FOR THAT GIRL! (PRESS RELEASE)

Nashville, TN – Mercury Records recording artist Jennifer Nettles will release her highly anticipated debut solo album That Girl on January 14.  The album was produced by Rick Rubin and recorded at the famous Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California.

“I started writing this album three years ago,” shares Nettles. “I put no conscious guides or governors on the creation of this album other than to write songs that I want to sing.  Working with Rick Rubin was a dream come true and the result is an album that plays to my roots – country, 70’s radio, gospel and singer songwriter.”

10 of the 11 tracks on the album were written or co-written by Nettles and include collaborations with songwriters Butch Walker, Phillip Sweet (Little Big Town), Richard Marx and Sara Bareilles, among others. Jennifer covers Bob Seger’s “Like A Rock” which she was drawn to as she is the same age as Seger was when he wrote the song.  Jennifer wanted to interpret the song from the female perspective exploring feminine strength.  The title track from the album is currently climbing the country radio charts.

    That Girl Track Listing:

    1. “Falling” (Written by Jennifer Nettles)
    2. “Me Without You” (Written by Jennifer Nettles, Tim Owens and Derek George)
    3. “Moneyball” (Written by Jennifer Nettles and Scott Patton)
    4. “That Girl” (Written by Jennifer Nettles and Butch Walker )
    5. “This Angel” (Written by Jennifer Nettles and Mike Reid)
    6. “Jealousy” (Written by Jennifer Nettles and Kevin Griffin)

  • DUCK THE HALLS REMAINS AT THE TOP OF THE COUNTRY ALBUM CHART. (AUDIO)

Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas continues their hold on the top of the country album chart this week. The collection sold nearly 73,000 copies (5% more than their previous debut week) to land at No. 1 on the country chart and climbed to No. 3 overall on the Billboard Top 200.

As with their A&E television show, the Robertson clan wraps Duck the Halls with a message and a prayer. “We wanted the album to feel like the TV show in a way, even though we were doing it with music and on the show that we’re showing who we are, what situation we’re in. So, we wanted to come back and have that same feeling. So, the idea came up about me doing the actual ending and talk about things we learn, our family. I thought it was a cool touch with Phil’s prayer and that together, it gives it that show feeling and then also lets you hear a little bit from our heart about who we are,” says Willie Robertson. “So, just like the show at the end of it, we wanted to wrap it all up and say here you go with a positive thought.”

The family’s first Christmas album features many classics, including “Silent Night,” “Away in a Manger,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” plus some new tunes, such as “Hairy Christmas” and “Ragin’ Cajun Redneck Christmas.” George Strait, Luke Bryan, Josh Turner and Alison Krauss make special appearances on the collection, as well.

So, we wanted to come back and have that same feeling. So, the idea came up about me doing the actual ending talk about things we learn, our family. I thought it was a cool touch with Phil’s prayer and that together, it gives it that show feeling and then also lets you hear a little bit from our heart about who we are exactly ‘cause I know people get confused with TV and the show and the celebrity. But we always want to show really what our heart is and talk about our family, and we want other families to come together at Christmas and not just have a happy holiday but we want them to grow as we have as a family and really bond together. So, just like the show at the end of it, we wanted to wrap it all up and say here you go with a positive thought.”

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE ARE READY TO GO THERE! (AUDIO)

Brothers Osborne are a brand new duo, and they’ve hit the airwaves with their debut single, “Let’s Go There.” TJ Osborne explains it’s the perfect song for the winter months. “We…wrote the song in the dead of winter, and it was about getting away from the cold and going someplace, or just any place, to get out of a funk,” he says. “So, going into the winter season, we thought it’d be fitting to start off with a song that we wrote in the winter.”

The two brothers – T.J. and John Osborne – are on the road with David Nail, hitting such cities as Denver, Sacramento, San Jose, Columbus, Chicago and more! Check brothersosborne.com for tour dates and information.

  • LADY ANTEBELLUM FOLLOW THEIR COMPASS TO RECORD RELEASE WEEK. (AUDIO)

Lady Antebellum arrived in stores this week with their Golden Deluxe collection, featuring their latest single, “Compass.” The album also features two other new songs (“And the Radio Played” and “Life As We Know It”), three alternate versions of some of their biggest hits and all of the other songs on Golden, which was released earlier this year.

As “Compass” makes its climb up the country chart, Lady A’s Hillary Scott says the tune sparks thoughts of her daughter, Eisele. “It’s so fresh me being a mother now and having her and wanting her – as she grows up – to dream big and to go after those dreams but to always know she’ll never be alone,” says Hillary. “She’s got a soft place to fall at home.”

    Lady A (Compass) 3 OC: …within yourself. :47
“I think what struck me so much with this song is the lyrics. It’s really a positive message. It made me think of my daughter. It’s so fresh me being a mother now and having her and wanting her – as she grows up – to dream big and to go after those dreams but to always know she’ll never be alone. She’s got a soft place to fall at home. So that’s who I think of, you know? It’s also an empowering song. It’s following your heart. Your heart is your compass, and if you’re following it, you’re always going to be happy because you’re gonna be doing what you’re meant to do. So, I love that too. It can be a about a person, a friend, a parent, child, whoever, spouse, but it can also be about you and the power within yourself.”

  • LADY ANTEBELLUM GIVES PROPS TO RADIO ON THEIR GOLDEN DELUXE ALBUM. (AUDIO)

Lady Antebellum has released the deluxe version of Golden, featuring their latest hit, “Compass,” as well as two other new songs, including “And the Radio Played.” Lady A’s Dave Haywood says the song reminds him of listening to the radio growing up.

“What I loved about this song was that every single one of these song titles that we reference has such a distinct memory to a certain point of time growing up. We thought it’d be great to have a song that mentions these songs because it makes you think about the memories. Instead of just listing out the memories, we list out the songs, and you go straight to those places,” says Dave. “So, it was a really cool way to acknowledge a lot of the greats before us in country music.”

The band will perform on Katie Thursday (November 14th) and The Late Show with David Letterman on Friday (November 15th). They’ll also be recording songs for a Live on Letterman segment that will stream on Thursday.

AUDIO: Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood talks about “And the Radio Played,” featured on their new Golden Deluxe album.

Lady A (And the Radio Played) 1 OC: …country music. :45
“‘And the Radio Played’ was a song that started originally with Josh Kear and Charles [Kelley] had started writing this and brought it to us, and we were with our producer, Nathan Chapman. And so, we all got in there, me and Hillary and everybody, and worked on the second verse and worked on this last verse. But what I loved about this song was that every single one of these song titles that we reference has such a distinct memory to a certain point of time growing up. We thought it’d be great to have a song that mentions these songs because it makes you think about the memories. Instead of just listing out the memories, we list out the songs, and you go straight to those places. So, it was a really cool way to acknowledge a lot of the greats before us in country music, a really cool way to tip our hat to a lot of songs that, I mean, when were 10 years old, 15, growing up even younger than that, getting turned on to country music.”
