• DIERKS BENTLEY’S “GOLD” IS A REMINDER TO BE PRESENT IN THE MOMENT.

Dierks Bentley is poised to top the country charts with his latest smash, “Gold,” which he co-wrote with Luke Dick, Ashley Gorley and Ross Copperman. The lead single from his new album, Gravel & Gold, the song is about finding the treasures, aka “Gold,” that can be found in everyday moments.

“I think the song is a lot about just being present in the moment you’re in, and recognizing that the grass isn’t always greener, but it’s pretty good where you are, just being present where you are,” says Dierks. “It’s a message as much for me as much as anybody else about, I guess, about gratitude. I love the feel of the track. It’s got that acoustic vibe that I hope is a little bit of my sound, but also still feels big and ready for these big amphitheaters we’re playing.”

Dierks is set to kick-off his upcoming Gravel & Gold Tour June 1st in Toronto, Ontario.

Travis Denning (DAPFPS) OC: …about this song. :50
“A friend of mine I went to high school with, he was one of my best friends in high school, he was going to school at University of Georgia. He went out one night and while he was out, he found an id on the floor of the bar, and he called me and said, ‘Hey man. It kind of looks a lot like you – looks like a skinny white boy with a buzzed haircut.’ So, he gave me that id, and that ultimately led to about a year-and-a-half of my life where like I was that guy, and that’s what I used to go to the bar, to buy beer at the gas station, you know whatever it was. And I think that’s when we wrote the song, I told my story. I told my version of the story, and what’s so amazing is now that it’s out and people are hearing it and connecting with it, you find out that it’s everybody’s story. We all did the same thing with our fake id, and I think that’s what’s special about this song.”

Audio / LUKE BRYAN TALKS ABOUT HIS FARM TOUR AND HOW MUCH IT'S GROWN OVER THE YEARS.

Luke Bryan (Farm Tour) OC: …through the years. 1:04
“Well, yeah, I mean the Farm Tour has grown throughout the years, and the fact that we can set a stage up in a hayfield or some kind of field and people flock to it is what I envisioned when I created Farm Tour, and to obviously help some kids with scholarships and stuff like that. But the Farm Tour has grown every year, and it’s always something we look forward to. It’s really an exciting time to be able to just be out on a farm on a Fall night. Sometimes it’s cool and everybody’s got, it’s perfect jacket weather and everybody’s just enjoying music and having fun, and it’s happening in these little towns that have never gotten a show like this. So, it’s always fun knowing that I leave these little towns, and they can go, ‘Hey, we got to go party out in a field and hear a bunch of Nashville country music singers roll in,’ and give ‘em a great show. So many great memories through the years.”

Eric Church, Sam Hunt, Elle King and Lyle Lovett will pay tribute to Willie Nelson as the LBJ Foundation gives Nelson its highest honor, the LBJ Liberty & Justice for All Award, at a gala May 12th, at the LBJ Presidential Library.

These musicians have been inspired by Nelson and share deep admiration for his musical talents and philanthropic efforts.

“It’s a reflection of Willie’s impactful legacy that these extraordinary artists will be paying tribute to him,” says Larry Temple, chairman of the LBJ Foundation Board of Trustees. “We couldn’t be happier with how the evening is shaping up.”

  • SAM HUNT AND HIS WIFE HANNAH ARE EXPECTING THEIR SECOND CHILD.

Sam Hunt and his wife Hannah are expecting their second child. He reportedly made the announcement during his Friday night (April 21st) show at Resorts World in Las Vegas. The baby will join his parents who were married in 2017, and big sister Lucy, who was born in May of last year.

A couple of months ago, Sam talked about how the little things in his life has changed pretty dramatically since becoming a father. “The way I experience everything on a day-to-day basis has drastically changed,” says Sam. “I live outside of town, and there’s a little pond, a little gravel driveway. We live in a little cabin. There’s a little pond several hundred yards from the cabin. And, you know, when we first moved out there, I’d go down to the pond occasionally, but not really all that often and almost on a daily basis. I’ll take Lou down to the pond and just sit her down the edge on the top of the canoe or just in the grass there, and I experience the pond and the birds and whatever else is going on out there in nature in a way that I was just numb to before having a child. And so that goes for every other little thing, coffee in the morning or picking up a book and reading it as she’s playing on the floor. All those things that I maybe in the past, all of a sudden, I’m experiencing in a whole new way.”

Sam is set to launch his “Summer On The Outskirts Tour” in July.

  • CATIE OFFERMAN RELEASES NEW HEARTBREAK SONG “‘I JUST KILLED A MAN.”

Catie Offerman releases her newest track today, “I Just Killed A Man.” The song is written by Offerman, Ryan Beaver (Blake Shelton, HARDY), Joe Clemmons (Gabby Barrett, Ryan Hurd), Jessie Jo Dillon (George Strait, Jon Pardi) and Benjy Davis (Chris Young, Jake Owen), and is produced by Dann Huff. The track will go to country radio next month and will be featured on Offerman’s upcoming debut project.

LISTEN TO “I JUST KILLED A MAN” | HERE

The heartbreak song was the idea of Clemmons and Beaver, who came up with the title and suggested they try to write something called “I Just Killed A Man.”

“No one’s ever said it like that before. It’s a different and brutally honest way of saying ‘I just broke this dude’s heart,’” says Offerman. “It’s about a guy I loved who I wasn’t meant to be with.”

Adds Offerman, “I love the line in the bridge that says, ‘just because it ain’t a crime, don’t mean I won’t be doing time.’ Even if you’re the one doing the breaking up, it still kills you like nothing else. I knew from the first second this song was spoken into existence that it was something special. My hope is that others feel that when they hear it.”

Lyrics for “I Just Killed A Man”

There ain’t nobody calling the cops

There ain’t no body circled in chalk

It was over and he knew it

Yeah, somebody had to do it

    I just killed a man

    Left him in his drive

Watch the light go out of his loving eyes

    I got in my car

    Made my get away

    Couldn’t stop the tears

    Running down my face

Yeah, he begged me not to let him go

But goodbye don’t give a damn

They won’t lock me up for this one, no

But his heartbreak’s on my hands

    I just killed a man

Tonight it’s just whiskey and guilt on the rocks

Word gets around, this towns gonna talk

It ain’t like I never loved him

Wish that mattered, but it doesn’t

    I just killed a man

    Left him in his drive

Watch the light go out of his loving eyes

    I got in my car

    Made my get away

    Couldn’t stop the tears

    Running down my face

Yeah, he begged me not to let him go

But goodbye don’t give a damn

They won’t lock me up for this one, no

But his heartbreak’s on my hands

    I just killed a man

Just because it ain’t a crime

    Don’t mean I won’t be doing time

    I just killed a man

    I just killed a man

    Left him in his drive

Watch the light go out of his loving eyes

    I got in my car

    Made my get away

Neither one of us will be the same

Yeah, he begged me not to let him go

But goodbye don’t give a damn

They won’t lock me up for this one, no

But his heartbreak’s on my hands

I just killed a man I just killed a man

    About Catie Offerman
Catie Offerman may be a new name to country music fans, but she’s already gaining a reputation as one of the genre’s most skilled players and promising modern traditionalists and Nashville’s music community is responding. Originally from New Braunfels, Texas, Offerman grew up on a horse ranch. Home schooled by her father in the tack room of their barn, she gravitated towards music at a young age. Offerman started playing piano at the age of four which eventually led her to pursue other instruments such as violin, accordion and more. When she was 11, Offerman’s accordion teacher asked her to join their polka band where they traveled across Texas performing.  Offerman graduated from Berklee College of Music at the age of 19 and signed her publishing deal with Universal Music Group Publishing about five years later. Offerman was featured in The Highwomen’s “Redesigning Women” video and inked her record deal with Universal Music Group in 2020.  She was named Pandora Country’s Artists to Watch for 2023, as well as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country and a CMT Listen Up artist for 2023.  Offerman released four songs in 2022 – “Happyland Trailer Park,” “Don’t Do It In Texas,” “Get A Dog,” and “‘Til I See You Again.” Offerman is in the studio working on her upcoming debut project.

  • LUKE GRIMES DROPS NEW TRACK “HOLD ON.”

Mercury Nashville / Range Music recording artist Luke Grimes today released a new track, “Hold On.” Written by Foy Vance and Ilsey Juber, the song is produced by Dave Cobb.

When Grimes began having discussions with his management team about his musical inspirations, Foy Vance, a singer-songwriter from Northern Ireland, was on that list. After a writing session with Vance in Scotland fell through, “Hold On,”, was pitched to the team and it was immediately put on hold for Grimes. He recorded it with Cobb, and it is one of only two songs that Grimes didn’t write for his forthcoming album.

LISTEN TO “HOLD ON” | HERE

“‘Hold On’ has become one of my favorite songs on the (upcoming) album,” said Grimes. “Foy Vance is one of my favorite current songwriters and although he and I couldn’t get together in person, I knew I wanted him to be a part of this album. He had this song that had not been cut and I immediately fell in love with the words; I felt so connected to it. It’s a familiar feeling, the fear of falling too deeply for someone because you could ultimately get hurt. I think it’s a universal feeling for anyone who has had their heart broken.”

Grimes is making his debut Stagecoach Festival debut on Sunday, April 30. His performance will be included in the Stagecoach livestream which will be available to stream on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and Prime Video at 2:35 p.m. PT.

    About Luke Grimes

Grimes’ debut track, “No Horse To Ride,” debuted inside the Top 10 of the Country Songs sales chart at No. 7. In its second week of release, “No Horse To Ride” racked up 95K Shazams, placing it No. 2 on the Shazam Country chart, No. 2 on the Shazam Top 200 USA chart and No. 37 on the Shazam Global chart, a rarity for a country artist. Spotify placed the song on the cover of its Country Hits 2023 playlist, with the song in the No. 1 position, and the song has been on eight Spotify Viral Charts.

Known for his role as Kayce Dutton on the hit television series, “Yellowstone,” Grimes has been making music for years and is prepping his first major label project. When not on set, Grimes can be found spinning his favorite country albums and songwriting at home in Montana or in Nashville writing with some of Music Row’s elite including Jonathan Singleton, Tony Lane, Randy Montana, Brent Cobb, Jamey Johnson, Love Junkies, Josh Osborne, Jon Randall, and Jessie Alexander.

Grimes grew up playing music in the church as the son of a Pentecostal pastor. His father also laid the foundation for the music he loves, introducing him to the works of Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings. The Ohio native is now finding his own voice and style as an artist, inspired by the likes of Colter Wall, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, and the late Townes Van Zandt.
