Audio / Sam Hunt talks about hitting the road performing at amphitheaters on his Summer On The Outskirts tour this year.

    Download

Sam Hunt (Amphitheater tour) OC: …those amphitheaters. :58
“The other bands, the food, the buses all parked back behind the amphitheater, it’s a whole environment. A lot of them are just in parts of the town that are their own little thing, so it’s so familiar to me now because that’s really all I’ve played. I haven’t really done many arenas at all. So, it just it feels like, it feels like our little home, a little home base headquarters there. And so, it’s very familiar to me at this point. The atmosphere there is being outside. To me, that’s big time in the summer. You know, I love being outside as much as I can, so the grass brings something to the to it. I don’t know, something about the grass on the hill and the environment. And there’s so many great amphitheaters with so many great artists that come through that people also have, is familiar for the folks who come out, too, because they’re going to go see a lot of times another one or two or three concerts at that same venue that summer. So, a lot of the good times that can be had in that community can be centered around those amphitheaters.”

  • TRAVIS DENNING RELEASES NEW TRACK “STRAWBERRY WINE AND A CHEAP SIX PACK.”

Travis Denning released a new song, “Strawberry Wine And A Cheap Six Pack.” Written by Denning, Thomas Archer, Jerry Flowers and Paul DiGiovanni, the track was co-produced by Jeremy Stover and Paul DiGiovanni. The song, which exudes a feeling of nostalgia, is a nod to the music of the mid-2000s which shaped Denning as a country artist. Denning will debut his new song when he performs at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday, March 28th. Tickets available HERE.

“I really wanted to write something like “Strawberry Wine and A Cheap Six Pack” to grab a nostalgic feeling on a lyrical and musical level,” said Denning. “When I was growing up and a teenager, I was listening to certain kind of music from an era that I really wanted to capture on this song. The song has a mid-2000s country music vibe and that’s something I’ve been chasing for a long time. I feel like this song was the first I’ve written that definitely hits that same feeling and energy of the music of my youth.”

Added Denning, “I’m so excited for this song to be out, because it’s just the first of a lot of music to come.  The songs I’ve recorded this year are all very unique and very different, and they stand out from music that I’ve recorded in the past.”

Denning will make his 16th appearance at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday, March 28. Not only is he touring throughout the spring and summer, but Denning is also currently in the studio working on new music. In addition to the new release, Denning has a cut on Morgan Wallen’s new album called, “Devil Don’t Know,” which he co-wrote with Jared Mullins and Ben Stennis.

Lyrics to “Strawberry Wine And A Cheap Six Pack”

Half past nine, I send you a text soon as that sun dropped

Kill my headlights, pull up, pick you up out by the mailbox

You’d lay the seat back and I’d find a place to go

I’d play it cool, you’d play the radio

Find a back road with a little magic on it

Back when all we really wanted was

A hand-me-down Tacoma with a dent in the side

10 miles over that county line speed limit sign

Black and mild smoke out on the wind

Hot July moon, I swear that I can hear you singin’ again

First taste of love, no, I couldn’t get enough

Girl, that’s where I go when I go back

Strawberry wine and a cheap six pack

    Half drunk kiss

On a bank of river, under wished on stars

    Yeah, we jumped right in

Set the night on fire with you in my arms

All summer long you said, don’t let me go

Leaves fell, we did too, next thing you know

It’s all long gone but girl I swear

Sometimes I’m right back there in

A hand-me-down Tacoma with a dent in the side

10 miles over that county line speed limit sign

Black and mild smoke out on the wind

Hot July moon, I swear that I can hear you singin’ again

First taste of love, no, I couldn’t get enough

Girl, that’s where I go when I go back

Strawberry wine and a cheap six pack

Don’t matter where I go, don’t matter where I’m at

One sip of that song and girl I’m right back to

A hand-me-down Tacoma with a dent in the side

10 miles over that county line speed limit sign

Black and mild smoke out on the wind

Hot July moon, I swear that I can hear you singin’ again

First taste of love, no, I couldn’t get enough

Girl, that’s where I go when I go back

Strawberry wine and a cheap six pack

That’s where I go when I go back

Strawberry wine and a cheap six pack

“’Strawberry Wine And A Cheap Six Pack’ really is just trying to paint this nostalgic picture of a guy and a girl. You don’t really know if it ended well or ended bad, doesn’t really matter. It’s more about the good and the beauty and the romanticism of them just being free, kinda in that summer setting, and I think the music really reflects the song too. It’s kind of got that mid-2000s country nostalgia to it, and it’s a super fun one to play.”

  • SAM WILLIAMS GETS VULNERABLE ON NEW SONG “LOST ITS ALLURE.”

Nashville singer/songwriter Sam Williams unveils a beautiful and vulnerable new track “Lost Its Allure.” The track details Williams’ thoughts of finding his own identity while grappling with self-doubt and feeling jaded in pursuit of his dreams. It is a meditation on the search for closure after a tragic loss, while also trying to find a place in this world.

Listen to “Lost Its Allure” HERE

Over soft keys and light production, Williams reflects on how the life he asked for might not turn out to be what he wanted – especially after enduring the loss of a loved one. He admits in the chorus, “Sometimes, I wish I was still asleep, so I don’t have to see the truth that’s standing right in front of me / Like when God takes your best friend and they say it’s just a lesson / I think, what the hell am I destined for, feels like this life of mine has lost its allure.

About the track, Williams states, “‘Lost Its Allure’ is about life kind of losing its shiny-ness and its sparkle, and feeling that and fighting to get it back.”

Last year, Williams released his debut LP Glasshouse Children, which received glowing reviews right out the gate from Rolling Stone, Music Row, and more. He then followed up with a deluxe version Glasshouse Children: Tilted Crown which featured six new tracks, including Ragdolland Tilted Crown.”

Later this month, Williams is set to light up The O2’s iconic stage at Country to Country Festival – for more info on C2C, go HERE. He will also support Elvie Shane on his dates in Germany. All tour dates are listed below.

The grandson of country pioneer Hank Williams and the son of outlaw legend Hank Jr., Sam Williams is the latest in a long line of American originals, but he is not here for the sake of tradition. He sings with his own singular voice, and he writes in his own singular style, fusing gut-wrenching honesty with plainspoken poetics and raw vulnerability with deep empathy. Suffering the sudden loss of his sister and mother in recent years has been profoundly devastating for Williams, but through his journey of grief and self-discovery, it has led him to a deeper understanding of his purpose in life and inspired him to honor his legacy with truth and integrity. With “Lost Its Allure” and more music on the way, Sam Williams continues to prove that he is making a legacy for himself that is completely his own.

The 10th album landmark speaks to how time has flown in Bentley’s unique, 21st-century career. The diverse 14-track album of perspective and self-awareness, at many levels, from the personal to the professional is a testament to the many strains of Country music Bentley has mastered and cultivated in his career, from the arena shaker to the barroom weeper to the bluegrass fireballer. His current Top 10 and climbing single “Gold,” hits the core theme of perspective with a road-trip vibe and wisdom earned only by putting in the years and the work. He landed his first publishing deal in 2001 and released his debut album in 2003, producing an instant No. One single. The years since have revealed a rare consistency that’s fueled longevity – eight more albums that reached the top of the Country sales charts, resulting in 21 No. One songs, eight billion streams, three CMA Awards, 14 GRAMMY® nominations and membership into the Grand Ole Opry. Trendy sounds have ebbed and flowed around him over these two decades, but fans have relied on Bentley for something more nourishing and individual. He also has created professional endeavors outside of the music with his Flag & Anthem lifestyle collection Desert Son, along with his “Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row” franchise hosting four locations. “Yeah, big tour coming up this year. I’m pretty excited about it. It’s going to be with one of my favorite people in the world. Who you tour with is, is, is huge. And people always ask me, do you pick your tour mate? I’m like can’t imagine not picking them because we’re gonna spend the whole year together, and it’s not just about ticket sales. It’s about the whole hang, the vibe and Jordan Davis. You know, I asked Jordan this time last year, and we’ve been talking about it for a while. I feel really lucky because he’s a great guy. I mean, this it’s fun touring with someone who’s just so easy to get along with, but he’s also like really hot right now. It’s like, yes, I nailed it! I got someone who’s, like, just crushing it. I mean, he’s had so many huge hits and I mean, he’s really, he’s just rocking. And so, I feel so lucky to have him out there. It just makes my job so much more fun when the person in front of me is just got the crowd going crazy.”

  • PARKER McCOLLUM RELEASES THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR “REST OF MY LIFE.”

Parker McCollum released the official music video for his song, “Rest Of My Life,” earlier today (March 2nd). The clip, which features actor Cameron Cowperthwaite (American Horror Story, Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer StoryRocket Man), depicts the toll substance abuse could take on one’s life.

    .

While the video doesn’t really reflect what the Texas native was going through at the time, he wrote the song — which appears on his 2021 album Gold Chain Cowboy — during the pandemic as he struggled to cope with life while the entire world was shut down.

“Shooting the ‘Rest Of My Life’ video was certainly pretty intense. Cameron Cowperthwaite, who is an actor out of Hollywood who’s been in a bunch of films and super, super talented, really, really embraced the role of what we were envisioning for this video,” he says. “I would say the message of this video in terms of the graphic extent in making this video was much more dramatic and further along than anything I was doing in real life that inspired this song, but I really wanted to kinda push the limits. And, you know, I didn’t want to get done with this video and feel like we could’ve done more. I felt like we did everything we could do. So many talented people working on it made it so easy to capture exactly what we were talking about and exactly what that song’s about. Hopefully, it helps somebody.”

Parker is currently making his way to the top of the country charts with “Handle On You.”

  • CARRIE UNDERWOOD BRINGS HER SPECTACULAR “DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR” HOME TO SOLD-OUT BRIDGESTONE ARENA IN NASHVILLE.

Carrie Underwood continues to rock the U.S., with a sold-out show at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville last night, where she was joined onstage by surprise guests, country superstars Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley, in addition to special guest support Jimmie Allen, who joins Underwood on all dates of the tour.

At the top of her highly-anticipated “hometown” show, Underwood greeted the SRO crowd, promising to blow the roof off the legendary venue, and was as good as her word throughout her entire two-hour set.

Approximately 30 minutes into the two-hour plus show, the audience, already buzzing with electric energy, exploded when country superstar Jason Aldean joined Carrie onstage to perform their multi-week #1 hit single, “If I Didn’t Love You,” usually performed by a virtual version of her duet partner in the tour’s set list.

The audience was surprised again later in the show, when Underwood’s longtime friend and 11-time CMA Awards co-host Brad Paisley appeared next to her onstage.  The crowd went wild as the pair performed a comedic parody number celebrating the unexpected reunion of “Paisleywood.”  Brad and Carrie went on to thrill the crowd with their hit duet, “Remind Me,” a beloved fan favorite.

Another highlight of the evening was when Allen returned to the stage to join Underwood with a crowd-pleasing rendition of the title track from her Denim & Rhinestones album, complete with a high-energy dance break.

Underwood’s 43-city arena tour, THE DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR, continues through March 17th, with upcoming stops including Ohio, Texas, Arizona, the Pacific Northwest, and L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena.  THE DENIM & RHINESTONES TOUR is promoted by AEG Presents.

Carrie is making her way up the country charts with “Hate My Heart.”

Carrie Underwood (Denim and Rhinestones Tour 2023) OC: …what we do. :27
“We just have so much fun. I love this show so much. I feel like it’s definitely bigger and brighter and better than any tour we’ve ever done; a lot of elements in it. You know, I really just wanted to push myself and try new things and try to figure out different ways to entertain in different things I could do. This show is so much fun. The crowds have been so much fun. The band is so much fun, like there’s such a great energy whenever we get to be on stage.”
