In an exciting addition, Cirque du Soleil proudly announces its collaboration with Sam Williams, a contemporary country artist, grandson of country pioneer Hank Williams and the son of outlaw legend Hank Jr, for the creation of an original song for the show Songblazers, fusing gut-wrenching honesty and plainspoken poetics with raw vulnerability and deep empathy, “Carnival Heart,” is inspired by a personal yearning of self-discovery, friendship, and hope. Williams wrote the spellbinding new song with fellow songwriters PJ Harding and Ned Houston.

“The title idea came to me pretty easily after becoming acquainted with Cirque du Soleil,” says Williams. “Where I come from, most people don’t get to go to the circus. We go to county fairs and carnivals, and the carnival in a small town is filled with joy, excitement, mystery, euphoria, you name it. That feeling is one you always remember, and I think the roller coaster of emotions lines up with what you want to feel seeing such an incredibly beautiful production such as Cirque’s.”

ANNE WILSON STRIKES “COUNTRY GOLD” IN NEW DUET WITH JORDAN DAVIS.

PLATINUM-certified, GRAMMY-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson gives fans another look at her forthcoming album, REBEL, with the highly-anticipated duet “Country Gold” (with Jordan Davis) today, March 22nd.

Arriving in full on Friday, April 19th, REBEL is a genre-defying collection capturing Wilson’s signature faith-infused Country sound. Wilson also celebrates her first-time CMT Award nomination for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year for “Rain In The Rearview” which first premiered on the CMT/Paramount Time Square billboard in January.

Wilson’s new collaboration with Davis comes just months after first sharing the stage with him at the 2023 ACM Honors for a live performance of “Buy Dirt.” Serving as the first of three duets on the album, “Country Gold” written by Wilson, Jeff Pardo and Matthew West, pulls inspiration from the biblical meaning of “gold” equating a symbol of spiritual wealth. Wilson and Davis expertly blend their unique, warm vocals as they weave heartfelt narratives from their family histories, emphasizing the joy found in life’s simple moments.

“I am so excited about my new song ‘Country Gold’ with Jordan Davis,” shares Wilson. “I’m a huge fan of Jordan’s music, and I’m honored to have him join me. This song is all about roots and remembering where the good stuff in life really is. I love the line that says, ‘the richest people that I’ve ever known struck country gold,’ and I hope you do too. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

Set to become “a cherished addition to the libraries of fans of both genres,” (Holler) REBEL will see Wilson joining forces with even more industry heavyweights. Still to come with the full album on April 19 is a duet with reigning 2023 CMA Entertainer of the year, Lainey Wilson, for “Praying Woman” and GRAMMY Award-winner Chris Tomlin for “The Cross.” A co-writer on each of the album’s 16 tracks, Wilson teamed up with some of Music Row’s most in-demand songwriters such as Nicolle Galyon, Emily Weisband, Matthew West and Trannie Anderson for a revolutionary project firmly rooted in both Country and Christian music, produced by Jeff Pardo and Jonathan Smith.

Earlier this month, Wilson captivated viewers nationwide with her morning television debut on Fox & Friends’ series ‘Faith & Friends Weekend.’ Performing live in the heart of the Big Apple, Wilson delivered her uplifting single “Strong” that is No.3 and climbing at Christian radio. She also celebrated International Women’s Day by stopping by The Bobby Bones Show to perform “Rain In The Rearview” and “Strong,” and chat with Bobby about what you can expect from her upcoming record.

WATCH: “STRONG” ON ‘FAITH & FRIENDS’

The Opry NextStage Class of 2024 member released “God & Country” in Feb., giving fans a sneak peek into the multifaceted artistry on REBEL. As her commanding vocals lead the track that MusicRow dubs a “spectacular show-stopper,” Wilson revisits her Kentucky roots growing up in the heart of the heartland. As the anticipation for REBEL builds, Wilson’s current single “Rain In The Rearview” continues to turn heads at Country radio.

Named as part of Spotify’s 2024 Hot Country Artists to Watch, Wilson just wrapped her first Country tour as direct support on Scotty McCreery’s Cab In A Solo Tour. This summer, she will grace the stages of both Country and Christian music’s most sought-after festivals including Tortuga Festival, Big As Texas Fest, Country Concert, Alive Music Festival and Kingdom Bound. For dates and more information, visit www.annewilsonofficial.com and keep up with her on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

Anne Wilson (Country Gold) OC: …of it all. :29
“‘Country Gold’ is a song about the good stuff in life that a lot of people tend to overlook, including myself sometimes. I wrote this song about my roots, about the ground beneath my feet where I grew up in Kentucky. It’s about the beauty of a small town, traditional family, the value of hard work and what my family taught me are the things that make up for a rich life. I love this song so much, and I’m so honored to have my friend Jordan Davis sing on it with me. I hope people hear this song and get a good reminder to remember where they come from and see the beauty of it all.”

SAM HUNT RELEASES NEW SONG AND MUSIC VIDEO FOR “LOCKED UP.”

Sam Hunt has released a new song, “Locked Up,” along with a new official music video for the song.

Starring Sam, his band and his beautiful wife Hannah, who was pregnant with their second child, Lowry, the clip — directed by Tim Mattia and shot at the Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Petros, Tennessee — has the country superstar reimagines Johnny Cash’s infamous 1968 concert at Folsom Prison.

“We found a really cool old prison in East Tennessee, and we had this idea originally to recreate the Johnny Cash Folsom Prison concert that he did back in the day and dressed up in all black, a suit, and I got a bunch of local guys to come out and dress up as inmates and had a really good time with it, sort of a period piece idea, I guess you could call it,” says Sam. “I don’t know if I did Johnny Cash justice. I doubt I did, but I enjoyed making the video and had my family out there with me and met a lot of cool folks who came out to help us with this video, so that was one of the more fun video experiences I’ve had.”

Sam co-wrote the song with Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, Jerry Flowers and his producer Zach Crowell, and he says the tune began with a title he had. “I had that title in my phone. I wanted to write a song called ‘Locked Up,’” he says. “I had no idea about what it may be about, although I have had a few run-ins with the law in my lifetime. My producer was playing me some music, he had built some tracks and was playing through a few songs, and I was looking at my phone, and I saw the title in the songs. The music sounded like the title, which is always a good start, and I just started singing that chorus. I think I filled in, 30-40 percent of the lyric in one take.”

He is set for his performance debut of “Locked Up” at the 2024 CMT Music Awards on April 7th airing Live on CBS from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

Sam, who is making his way to the top of the country charts with his latest single “Outskirts,” is currently on his Outskirts 2024 Tour, which makes stops in Duluth, Minnesota today (March 22nd) and Grand Forks, North Dakota on Saturday (March 23rd).

“‘Stealing A Kiss’ is about the very first time I had a chance to plant one on Tanya, and I just clammed up and didn’t do it. It’s the only regret I’ve ever had in our relationship. (TANYA: “Well, you made up for it.”) It’s not going for it the first time, but the next time I went for it, (TANYA: “You went for it.”) we kissed and never stopped kissing.”

GRAMMY Award-winning duo, Brothers Osborne have released their Break Mine EP via EMI Records Nashville. The new, four-song EP includes two new tracks, “Break Mine” and “Get To Movin’ Again,” as well as two songs included on their GRAMMY-nominated 2023 self-titled album. Said TJ Osborne about the new EP, “This one is for the fans. Every time we release an album, our fans are asking for more music, faster. We heard that, and held some special songs back from our last project so we could release them now. We also wanted to include a couple of the tracks from Brothers Osborne that we thought deserved some more of the spotlight. We can’t wait to play these songs on the road for you all this spring.” Break Mine EP is available digitally here.

The music video for Brothers Osborne’s GRAMMY-nominated song “Nobody’s Nobody” is nominated this year for “Video Of The Year” and “Duo/Group Video Of The Year” at the CMT Music Awards. Fans can vote for the video once a day on the CMT website and the awards show will be broadast on CBS on Sunday, April 7 at 8pm ET/7pm CT.

Brothers Osborne will kick off their 35-date “Might As Well Be Us Tour” on March 28th, with dates throughout 2024. The duo will perform in cities including Atlanta, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Chicago and more (full dates below) with support from Stephen Wilson Jr., The Cadillac Three, Zach Top, Jackson Dean, Madeline Edwards, and Caylee Hammack. Tickets for all dates are on sale here.

Brothers Osborne, the band’s self-titled fourth studio album, is out now via EMI Records Nashville. The album was named one of the most anticipated albums of the year by The Los Angeles Times who call it “a lively self-titled” album which adds “fresh sounds and textures to the Osbornes’ solidly built songs” and the duo recently on the cover of American Songwriter who say a “sense of comfortable confidence echoes through all eleven tracks on Brothers Osborne, which builds off the duo’s trademark meld of classic Southern rock and polished modern country.” Brothers Osborne is available on all formats here.

Brothers Osborne are one of music’s most consistently adventurous bands, a duo connected by not just blood, but also a lifetime of performing together, and a shared working class upbringing in Deale, Maryland. The reigning CMA and ACM Duo of the Year winners are leaders of a progressive and still classic school of country music, and the faces of the new generation of Nashville. Anchored by TJ’s baritone and John’s guitar, every one of the album’s 11 tracks are distinctly Brothers Osborne songs – the album is also their most musically diverse yet, along with a new producer’s direction, it features synthesizers, and a piano ballad.

“We are always pushing ourselves, always evolving and not afraid to change,” John says. “But at the end of the day, we are also who we are.”

“This is a defining record at this point in our career, where we needed to put it all on our shoulders,” TJ says. “And we did. Like it was when we were growing up, it’s just John and me.”

George Strait is mourning the loss of two of his longtime “music family members,” who he lost hours apart on Wednesday (March 21st). First, his manager of 45 years and friend for longer, Erv Woolsey, passed away from complications following surgery; then his Ace In The Hole bandmember Gene Elder passed, as well.

DIERKS BENTLEY BORROWS TOM PETTY’S RICKENBACKER GUITAR FOR “AMERICAN GIRL” VIDEO PREMIERING ON CMT TODAY.

Dierks Bentley today premieres the music video for his spirited cover of Tom Petty’s “American Girl” with CMT. The video for the lead single from the forthcoming tribute album, PETTY COUNTRY: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty, opens with Bentley strapping on Petty’s own signature Rickenbacker guitar that was flownin from his archives in California for the shoot.

Shot at Nashville venue Clementine, the performance-forward video focuses on musicianship as Bentley and his band (which includes Charlie Worsham) circle up at golden hour with light pouring into the room, offering up a sense of sanctification and celebrating the fellowship, joy of playing and spirit that defined Tom Petty and his seminal band the Heartbreakers. Directed by Wes Edwards, the clip focuses on Bentley’s rugged features, the appropriate solos and chemistry between road-honed musicians. Their seemingly clubhouse jam is interpolated with Americana images, forward travel and other articles from Petty’s archive, including cases and concert memorabilia.

“Holding an instrument that carries so much musical history and significance was surreal, you could almost feel the stories resonate from it as I played it,” Bentley shared. “Tom Petty’s lyrics and delivery were a huge part of what made his music so impactful.”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD SHARES FAITH-BASED COUNTRY AND GOSPEL MUSIC ON HER NEWEST CHANNEL.

In addition to CARRIE’S COUNTRY (Ch. 60) and CARR-DIO by CARRIE’S COUNTRY, Carrie Underwood expands her SiriusXM musical universe with a third channel joining our lineup: SAVIOR SUNDAY DAILY by CARRIE’S COUNTRY.

Inspired by the fan-favorite show on Carrie’s hugely popular CARRIE’S COUNTRY, SAVIOR SUNDAY DAILY by CARRIE’S COUNTRY becomes a full-time channel on the SiriusXM app beginning March 21, playing a daily blend of uplifting faith-based country and gospel music handpicked by Carrie.

How to listen

SAVIOR SUNDAY DAILY by CARRIE’S COUNTRY is available to stream anytime on the SiriusXM app.

The Savior Sunday show on CARRIE’S COUNTRY will continue to air every Sunday on channel 60.

What you’ll hear

“We had a couple of little churches we went to. I remember my first being very tiny with wooden pews. That was probably one of my earliest music memories, singing these hymns in the congregation, and being on stage and singing in front of people for the first time,” Carrie said while recording My Savior, which won the GRAMMY Award for Best Roots Gospel Album in 2022.  “It was always just familiar. These hymns are like a warm hug, just sweet, familiar songs I’ve been singing and listening to my whole life.”

More artists you’ll hear on SAVIOR SUNDAY DAILY by CARRIE’S COUNTRY include Gabby Barrett, NEEDTOBREATHE, Randy Travis, Thomas Rhett, Reba McEntire, and Zach Williams.

“This music shaped who I am as a person and is the foundation of my career as a recording artist,” Carrie says.  “I feel so blessed to get be able to create a destination to share these songs with generations of people who love them as I do, as well as others who might be experiencing them for the first time.”

CeCe Winans takes the wheel

In celebration of the new channel, GRAMMY Award-winning gospel legend and Carrie collaborator CeCe Winans recorded a special edition of the CARRIE’S COUNTRY Guest DJ series Take The Wheel.

Carrie’s duet with CeCe, the best-selling and most-awarded female gospel artist of all time, on the classic hymn, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” is one of the many highlights of Carrie’s GRAMMY-award winning album My Savior.

Carrie Underwood (new generation for hymns) :49
“I feel like people my age and older really did grow up singing hymns. We go to church now, and everything is very praise and worship, which is wonderful, but I feel like there are a lot of people who have not experienced a lot of these hymns or they’re not a part of their weekly life, you know. So, I do hope people – I hope people that are like me that grew up with them can listen to them and feel the heart behind them. We wanted to make them sound fresh, but we didn’t want to change anything too much. So, I hope the traditionalists will enjoy it but I also hope that people who haven’t experienced these songs as much can listen and feel, get that sense of home but enjoy what they’re listening to as well.”
