JON PARDI QUICKLY RECORDED “COWBOYS AND PLOWBOYS” AFTER RECEIVING IT FROM ONE OF THE SONGWRITERS.

Jon Pardi‘s latest single, “Cowboys And Plowboys” with Luke Bryan is climbing the country charts, and he said one of the co-writers — Rhett Akins — is the one who first sent it to him and suggested he get Luke to record the song with him. It didn’t take long for Luke to reach out to him.

“I remember hearing it for the first time ‘cause Rhett Akins sent it to me and said, ‘You and Luke need to record this song,’” says Jon. “Luke called me like an hour later was like, ‘We gonna do this song, man?’ And it was just perfect. He comes from a farming background. I come from a farming/cowboys kind of lifestyle all the time now. It’s just perfect for me and him to sing together.”

“Cowboys And Plowboys” was written by Rhett, Jacob Rice and Cole Taylor, and it marks the first new music from singer/songwriter/producer Pardi since his latest critically-acclaimed album, Mr. Saturday Night.

Jon continues his Mr. Saturday Night World Tour February 13th in Billings, Montana.

ERIC CHURCH IS HELPING BRING BACK THE LEGENDARY FIELD & STREAM.

Eric Church and Morgan Wallen are part of the team bringing Field & Stream back to life. Eric posted a video showing him and Morgan fishing with an iconic voiceover, as well as remembering why the magazine was such a pivotal piece of his childhood.

He writes, “I can remember my grandfather kept a few of his favorite Field & Stream magazines on the dash of his truck. That truck took us on hundreds of outdoor adventures and I all but memorized every story and every picture on every page. They were my Bible. It is the honor of my life to make sure that legacy carries on. It is both this responsibility to an American Icon and also to a young boy in his papaw’s truck that will be the compass that guides our steps.”

A reboot of the magazine, established in 1871, will be the first part of the process in bringing Field & Stream back to life. It will also include access to the Field & Stream 1871 Club, a limited-edition apparel collection inspired by both artists, as well as an outdoor music festival.

CHRIS STAPLETON’S “WHITE HORSE” WAS BORN FROM A “MISSION” OF SORTS.

Chris Stapleton is poised to take over the top spot on the country charts with his latest single, “White Horse.” He co-wrote the song with Dan Wilson nearly 12 years ago when they were tasked to write a song for potential placement in the 2013 Lone Ranger movie (which starred Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer), and while it didn’t make the movie soundtrack, it is featured prominently on Chris’ latest album, Higher.

“It’s really a song born out of almost writing on a mission for something else that never really happened for that. I really like the song, so I like to play it. It’s fun,” says Chris. “It has kind of scene changes in it musically, and my favorite lyric is ‘my mind is like a cloud of dust.’ I think that it’s probably the thing in the song that feels most personally to me, just because that’s a constant battle with me just raising thoughts of a mind that wanders a little bit.”

The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year has three GRAMMY Award nominations, including Best Country Song (“White Horse”), Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Duo/Group Performance as a featured performer on Carly Pearce’s “We Don’t Fight Anymore.” The 2024 Grammy Awards will air live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4th on CBS and streaming live on Paramount+.

You can catch Chris on the road when he launches his 2024 All-American Road Show Tour  March 2nd in San Diego, California. The trek will feature rotating special guests Sheryl Crow, The War And Treaty, Elle King, Lainey Wilson, Willie Nelson and Family, Grace Potter, Marty Stuart, Turnpike Troubadours, Nikki Lane and Marcus King.

Especially when it comes to guitars. There was a time when I had only one guitar and I never imagined I would be the custodian of numerous great vintage ones. ANNE WILSON HAS ALWAYS BEEN DRAWN TO COUNTRY MUSIC.

PLATINUM-certified, GRAMMY-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson has been making waves for a few years, launching a successful music career in Christian Music, but Country Music has always called out to her and she realized her dream at the end of last year with the release of her debut country single, “Rain In The Rearview.”

“I grew up listening to Country and Christian music as a kid,” says Anne. “My parents would turn on Christian radio and my brother would play Country radio and old Country Music, so I equally enjoyed both. As an artist starting out in Christian Music, I loved getting to add my Country influence to my first record through faith-based lyrics. But now that I am 21, and it’s been a couple of years, I really have been able to explore who I am as an artist even deeper, and just more Country Music has naturally come out of that place. I realize that it’s not even about a genre anymore, but this is just who I am – a country girl who loves Jesus. And I’m so excited for this new season and share who I am as an artist with this new audience.”

Called to her musical mission in the wake of tragedy, Anne’s “My Jesus” – an empowering anthem of personal conviction wrapped in uplifting, roots-pop energy – served as her warm introduction to fans in early 2021. After going viral upon release, the single’s music video reached 7M views in its first week and more than 25M to date. The track hit No.1 on Billboard‘s Christian Airplay chart, making her the first debut female Christian artist in chart history to reach No.1, and was nominated for a Billboard Music Award for Top Christian Song. The single also went on to be named ASCAP’s 2022 Christian Music Awards Song of the Year, reaching Spotify’s Viral 50, the Shazam Top 200 and Rolling Stone’s Top 25 Trending charts. To date, the song has accumulated 360M streams and 180M TikTok views in addition to notching PLATINUM status.

Anne will join Scotty McCreery’s Cab In A Solo Tour as direct support, marking her first-ever Country tour. The tour, promoted by Live Nation, will kick-off at Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio this Friday (January 26th) and make its way across the U.S. with stops in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston and more.

In the video teaser, the two country stars are seen wearing the apparel while fishing, plus clips of other folks enjoying the land and nature, complete with Eric’s subtle and perfect voice asking certain questions about what is it that makes us Americans. Eric ends the voiceover with “Since 1871 we’ve been a part of that conversation. And like all Americans, we sometimes lost our way. But like America, we always find our way back.” (see the video below)

BRENDA LEE ACHIEVES HER FIRST SONG TO HIT 1 BILLION STREAMS ON SPOTIFY WITH “ROCKIN’ AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE.”

Rock and Roll and Country Music Hall of Famer Brenda Lee’s iconic holiday hit “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” has achieved a new milestone, hitting 1 billion streams on Spotify, a first for Lee. The hit song, which broke multiple records this past holiday season, also spent most of the season at Number 1 on Spotify’s Top 50 US chart.

“What a year and holiday season it was for me personally, and for “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.” I am so thankful that Spotify listeners propelled this holiday classic to 1 billion streams – that just blows my mind! It takes geniuses like the writer (Johnny Marks) and musicians to create a song with such longevity and I couldn’t be more grateful people are still listening to “Rockin’.” – Brenda Lee

About Brenda Lee
Brenda Lee signed with the legendary Decca Records label before her 12th birthday and went on to record such landmark hits as “Sweet Nothin’s,” “All Alone Am I,” “Break it to Me Gently” and “I’m Sorry.” Though she had success in multiple genres including rockabilly, pop and rock, Lee found her home in country music. Lee’s best-loved hit, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” celebrated its 65th anniversary last year and continues to top the charts year after year. Not only has Lee sold more than 100 million albums globally, throughout her career she shared stages and earned the respect of the world’s most revered performers. The Beatles opened for her and the lads from Liverpool became good friends with the Southern belle from Atlanta, and Elvis Presley and Lee made their Grand Ole Opry debut on the same night. Lee had nine consecutive top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hits from 1960 to 1962 and set a record for a female solo artist that was unequaled until over two decades later. Lee churned out country hits such as “Sunday Sunrise” and “Big Four Poster Bed” and continued to have country hits into the 80s, including “I Love Her So,” a duet with George Jones. Lee was the first woman inducted into both the Rock and Roll and Country Music Hall of Fames and she is a recipient of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement award. Her hit song “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” was certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA and reached 1 billion streams on Spotify.

In November 2023, “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time ever, 65 years after the song’s debut, and was at the top spot for three weeks. By hitting the No.1 spot, Lee broke several records, many of which were held by Mariah Carey and “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” whom Lee beat out for the top. Lee claims just the third holiday No.1 ever on the Hot 100.

“Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” is also Lee’s third No. 1. She now holds the record for the longest gap between an artist’s first and most recent week at No.1 on the Hot 100, as her first No.1 was her single “I’m Sorry” in 1960. Lee and “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” now also hold the record for the longest climb to the top of the Hot 100, as the Johnny Marks-written hit was released 65 years ago, when Lee was just 13 years old. Now, at 79-years-old, Lee is also the oldest woman to top the Hot 100, surpassing previous record-holders Cher (“Believe,” age 52) and Carey (“All I Want for Christmas is You,” age 53).
