Brad Paisley (So Many Summers) 1 OC: …lift him. :45
“I see it as sort of me talking to me saying, ‘Hey, it’s gonna be a cold September. This relationship’s not gonna last past August, so go pick her up (laughs) and go have a date and don’t be late tonight.’ And the same with the rest of the song talking about these things that you’re seeing, you know what? It’s only time and perspective that really does make you go, ‘Oh wow! That’s over now.’ I remember the day I realized I couldn’t lift Huck anymore. It was not possible to carry him anymore out of something, and that happens overnight. There’s a day where it’s like you realize, ‘Oh, I’m not gonna be able to lift him.’”

The evening will include “the nicest man in stand-up” and Nashville native Nate Bargatze and will feature a night of improv with Brad, Saturday Night Live alum and comedian Kevin Nealon and Groundlings Alumni, an improvisation and sketch comedy group that is Hollywood’s foremost comedy training ground and a springboard for countless careers. The event sold out within an hour of tickets going on sale.

Founded by Brad and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, The Store is a free-referral based grocery store, which aims to empower low-income individuals and families in the Nashville area. The Store operates with the mission of allowing people to shop for their basic needs in a way that protects dignity and fosters hope.

Brad, who says there will be huge famous guests on stage as part of the event, explains the concept behind the special evening: “I wanted to do something for the store that is all good fun and not an event that’s stuffy or any sort of, it’s not a banquet. It’s literally us telling jokes, my favorite comedians telling jokes, my favorite comedians goofing around. I came up with the name, our charity is Groceries With Dignity is the concept. When you have choice, when you go into The Store, you get to choose the food you feed your family, just like you’re shopping. That’s the point, and there’s dignity in choice, there’s dignity in the fact that it’s a very normal experience. It’s not a handout in a paper bag or anything like that, and it helps you get back on your feet and there’s dignity in that. And then this comedy night is supposed to be without dignity.”

The night of comedy will follow Brad’s headline concert Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th in the heart of downtown Nashville. The event will present one of the country’s largest July 4th fireworks show synchronized to live music from the GRAMMY-winning Nashville Symphony, and will feature charitable partner The Store. This is the second time Brad has headlined the July 4th concert for the city.

But Kevin is coming in to town and Kevin’s wife is from Nashville, and then I have a lot of dear friends in The Groundlings, which is this amazing improv group in California. There’s Oscar winners and there’s people that’ll be a surprise, like you won’t believe who’s going to be up on stage goofing around, I think.”

As a global ambassador for UNITED24 and their Rebuild Ukraine program, country music superstar Brad Paisley visited Ukraine for the first time today and saw with his own eyes the plight of its people in the war-stricken country. During the trip Paisley had his first in person meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and on the way to Kyiv, he greeted and played for American troops in Poland as part of a U.S. congressional delegation.

While in Ukraine, Paisley performed “Same Here” in St. Michael’s Square in Kyiv, Ukraine. Watch the performance HERE.

During a press conference held by the congressional delegation Brad commented, “It’s an emotional experience seeing all of this firsthand. For me looking around this city and being here for the first time, I’m absolutely struck by the resilience of life and the beautiful nature of the way this city is trying to thrive in the middle of conflict. And also trying to be as free as they can be in this hard time. I think as an American it is one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever seen and I’m absolutely honored to be here.”

Zelenskyy to mark the first anniversary since the war in Ukraine began. “Same Here” was written by Paisley, Lee Thomas Miller and Taylor Goldsmith, and produced by Luke Wooten. • BRAD PAISLEY RELEASES FIRST NEW SONG FROM SON OF THE MOUNTAINS ALBUM.

Global country music superstar Brad Paisley is set to debut his first album with Universal Music Group Nashville later this year, titled Son of The Mountains. Today he is releasing the first new song off the forth coming project, “Same Here,” with a special appearance by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy marking the first anniversary since the war in Ukraine began. “Same Here” was written by Brad, Lee Thomas Miller and Taylor Goldsmith, and produced by Luke Wooten.

LISTEN TO “SAME HERE” | HERE

“‘Son of the Mountains’ is a collection of songs that I’ve been writing and working on for a while now,” shared Brad. “The music encompasses a lot of big themes and perspectives from a kid that came from a small town in West Virginia after having seen a bit of the world. The record doesn’t shy away from reflection, real life and situations that are going on and what I think country music is- which is truth.”

“‘Same Here’ with President Zelenskyy is one of the pieces of this album that represents so much a part of my journey from West Virginia to now. One of the prevailing themes on this album is freedom. That’s something I truly believe in, and think is our most precious gift as Americans. The song is grounded in observing life in the United States, then to people from other countries who speak different languages and to one across the ocean that’s at war. We start to realize how similar we all are.”

Added Paisley, “That’s one of the things the President says in the song, ‘There is no distance between our two countries in such values.’ They are longing for what we as Americans have already. It’s heartbreaking watching this struggle in modern time for freedom and democracy and the ability to just simply be who they want to be in peace. And this song is something that I hope resonates not only with my fans and people in America, but people anywhere that feel a similar desire to be free and safe and happy. Because I really do believe that as human beings when you take away the banners that determine what country we all live in, we all want the same things.”

Proceeds from the song will go to UNITED24 for their Rebuild Ukraine program launched by Pres. Zelenskyy as the main venue for collecting charitable donations to rebuild and restore homes damaged by the current war. This reconstruction plan is the largest rebuilding project in Ukraine since the second World War. Brad’s relationship with Pres. Zelenskyy grew from his participation in the ‘Ukraine: Answering the Call’ charity telethon in 2022 which was broadcast in prime time in the USA. Last month Brad was named an ambassador for UNITED24. Brad Paisley (Same Here) 1 OC: …so similar. 1:00
“The song ‘Same Here’ was written about a year ago, shortly after the war started in Ukraine. I had written this song as something that I had an idea for, which was just traveling more and more around both America, we went to Europe last year and played a bunch of shows. We went to Australia for the first time. I’m just struck by the fact that people seem, as different as they can be in some of their customs and traditions, deep down they’re so similar. We want so many of the same things, and that’s what this song is about. It’s about finding the common ground with a land far away really, and sometimes that’s from state to state, sometimes it’s same continent but different language, and other times it’s all the way across the ocean and around the world. And conditions may change, and people are going through different things at different times, but deep down, these things, these things that we want, the things that we want, our values are so similar.”

Brad Paisley (Same Here) 2 OC: …people think. :49
“’Same Here’ is a song that’s the first thing you’re hearing off an album I’ve done called Son Of The Mountains, and this album is me really trying to deal with the things in the world that I’ve seen as a kid in a small town in the mountains of West Virginia. Now that I’ve traveled this world a little bit and also, I guess, lived a little bit, it’s really an interesting thing to try to write about the interesting things I’ve seen. And this song is very unique in the sense that it features (Ukraine) President Zelensky talking about his country which is currently obviously at war and the things that they share with the United States in the way that they want to be free and the things they care about. And so, it’s gonna be really fun and interesting, I think, to release all of the songs off this album and see what people think.”
