• SCOTTY McCREERY GIVES CNN A BEHIND-THE-SCENES TOUR OF HIS HOMETOWN.

NASHVILLE, TENN. – (July 28, 2015) – When “CNN Travel Insider” decided to visit Raleigh, North Carolina, the producers knew exactly the person to ask for an insider’s tour: native son Scotty McCreery. The Platinum-selling country music artist was happy to oblige, and took a brief break from the recording studio, where he has been working on his upcoming album with producer Frank Rogers, in order to show off his city. Now, viewers can learn about several of McCreery’s favorite Raleigh places when the “CNN Travel Insider” segment airs on CNN this Thursday, July 30 during the 10:00-11:00 AM/ET period. The segment will re-air on Saturday, August 1 during the 12:00-1:00 PM/ET period and Sunday, August 2 during the 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM/ET period. (Please note, breaking news could bump the “CNN Travel Insider” segment to another time period).

McCreery took the CNN crew to Pullen Park, the fifth oldest operating amusement park in the United States and the 16th oldest in the world. While there, the ACM Award winner took a ride on both the more-than-one-hundred-years-old Gustave A. Dentzel Carousel, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the C.P. Huntington Miniature Train.  Later in the day the former high school baseball pitcher brought the television crew to the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, spotlighting many of the state’s nationally known professional and college athletes. During the evening, the singer/songwriter gave the crew a tour of the iconic The Angus Barn restaurant, winner of more than 200 prestigious awards including 21 Wine Spectator Magazine Grand Awards.

The Mercury Nashville / 19 / Interscope Records recording artist is currently working on his next album. He scored two consecutive Top 10 hits (“See You Tonight” and “Feelin’ It”) from his sophomore album See You Tonight, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. That album’s title song, co-written by the singer, was one of three singles from the “American Idol” champion that were certified Platinum by the RIAA in the same week (the other two being “The Trouble with Girls” and “I Love You This Big” from his Platinum-certified first album Clear as Day, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart). The ACM, CMT Music, ACA, and ICM Award winner is the Special Guest on the Rascal Flatts RIOT 2015 Tour this summer, and will be performing with them at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ on July 31; Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ on August 1; and the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA on Aug. 2. • CLARE DUNN IS FEATURED ON ONE OF THE ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR’S HIT SONGS.

Clare Dunn has hit the airwaves with her single, “Move On,” but it’s not the first time she’s been on the radio. She sang background vocals on a certain superstar’s hit song a few years ago while she was still in college.

“I was writing a lot at the time with Jeff Stephens, who is Luke [Bryan’s] producer,” Clare recalls. “Jeff and I had been working together and then one day he just said, ‘Hey, I’ve got this song that I’m working on with Luke, and maybe you want to sing a part? You want to sing backup?’ And I said, ‘Sure! Tell me where to be and what time to be there.’ I showed up to the studio a couple of days later and sang the song.”

The Colorado native wasn’t sure if her vocals made Luke’s smash “Country Girl [Shake It For Me],” until she heard it on the radio.

“Me and my sister were in her pickup cruising down the road. She’d picked me up from the airport and we were in the Oklahoma Panhandle somewhere, and she was flipping through the radio stations. And I heard about two seconds of it, and I was like, ‘Wait a minute. I know that song.’ I said, ‘Tayla, go back.’ So, she put it back on the station, and right then, the chorus kicked in and I heard myself,” she says. “I was like, ‘WWHaat?!’ And so that was the first time I heard myself on the radio, and I was like, ‘I know that voice! Wait a minute! That’s me! They kept my part! Ahhhh!’ So, I knew then that they kept it.” [laughs]

Clare is set to tour with Miranda Lambert on her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour this fall.

Any time you’re making a record, you don’t know necessarily what’s going to be kept, what’s not going to be kept, and that’s just the way it can go sometimes. So, I sang the part and I didn’t think much about it, and I left the studio and went about my business.”

Audio / Clare Dunn reveals the first time she heard herself on the radio was singing background vocals on Luke Bryan’s “Country Girl [Shake It For Me].”

  • EASTON CORBIN SAYS ‘YUP’ TO NEW SINGLE.

Easton Corbin has released his new single, “Yup,” from his latest album About to Get Real. The song is the follow-up to his hit, “Baby Be My Love Song.”

“Yup” was one of three songs that Easton went back into the studio to record for the album, nearly a year after he thought he was finished.

“I’ve known about that song for about two years. It’s one of those songs that had to grow on me. When I heard it, and I was like, ‘Eh, I ain’t so sure about that.’ And the more and more I listened to it, I found myself thinking, looking back and saying, ‘Man, I remember that song ‘Yup.’ I want to hear that again.’ I’d go back through my emails and find it, and I’d have my manager send it to me a couple of times. I just kept listening to it, and it started growing on me,” says Easton. “I was like, ‘You know? Come to think of it, everybody, everybody goes through this, especially guys, or girls.’ It’s like, ‘Hey, I’ve got to work in the morning,’ but a pretty girl catches your eye, and it’s like, ‘Maybe I’ll stay here for a little longer.’”

Look for Easton to perform “Yup,” when he performs in Park City, Utah on Thursday.

George Strait (special guests at last show) OC: …great idea. :58
“We wanted to make it something different, something very, very special, something that people didn’t necessarily think they would see at one of my shows – not all of the fireworks and all that kind of thing, but just something a little different. Since we toured with those people all year, we planned on this, getting them if they would, to come and finish it out in Dallas with us. I think it really made the night more special than it would have been if I’d just gone up there and done my normal show. It was more exciting, I think, to have them come up and them being able to choose what songs they wanted to sing of mine, helped me really make the song list around that. So, we thought it was a great idea.”
