I think it symbolizes his wild spirit and I’m really proud of it.”

  • LADY ANTEBELLUM READY TO TAKE THEIR ‘WHEELS UP’ TOUR TO THE FANS.

Lady Antebellum have been hard at work on the stage production, lighting, set list, rehearsals and more to bring their crowds one heckuva show when they kick off the North American leg of their Wheels Up 2015 Tour later this week. Fans in Lubbock, Texas on Friday, May 1st will be the first to experience it, and the band says this is their favorite tour for a number of reasons.

“I think this is our absolute No. 1 favorite tours – favorite production, favorite staging and lighting,” says Lady A’s Dave Haywood. “But more than that, I just think we’re at a point now in our career to put together a set list that’s really all pretty much radio singles. And, that’s a real special moment for us. I mean, it’s fun to also have one or two kind of album cuts for a lot of the super fans and big fans out there. But, what’s great is to be at a point to have this many singles to pack into a show, and it’s a real, I think, special moment for that reason. And then also, this staging is just blowing us away.”

The group previewed the tour in front of an intimate crowd of media and staff, as well as for the label, last week, and included a handful of songs, such as their current single, “Long Stretch of Love.”

The trek will continue through the fall with Sam Hunt and Hunter Hayes.

  • ERIC PASLAY HAD GEORGE STRAIT IN MIND WHEN ‘SHE DON’T LOVE YOU’ WAS WRITTEN.

Eric Paslay’s “She Don’t Love You” has been on several “Best Songs” list, including Rolling Stone’s list of Best Songs of 2014. The tune was written during a lull when he and songwriter Jen Wayne were trying to write for a certain Texas superstar.

“We were initially trying to write a song for George Strait, ‘cause he had just announced that he was doing The Cowboy Rides Away Tour. And Jen Wayne’s grandfather is John Wayne, so she knows a lot about cowboys,” recalls Eric. “So, we were trying to just write that song, and we didn’t quite have it, and I think she said, ‘She Don’t Love You,’ and I said, ‘Yeah, she’s just lonely.’ Just kind of joking around or something, and 45 minutes later, we’d written ‘She Don’t Love You.’”

“She Don’t Love You” is from his self-titled debut album.

  • ERIC CHURCH WILL BE THE INAUGURAL PERFORMER FOR NASHVILLE’S NEW ASCEND AMPHITHEATER AT RIVERFRONT PARK.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (Apr. 23, 2015) – Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and Live Nation announced today that on July 30, seven-time GRAMMY nominee Eric Church will be the inaugural performer for Music City’s new Ascend Amphitheater in Riverfront Park.

Recently ranked No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot Tours chart for his successful “The Outsiders World Tour” which continues through this summer, Church will give a rare solo concert performance with just his guitar, giving fans a unique experience from when he set a new venue attendance record of 18,441 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena earlier this year in January. Tickets will go on sale at Ticketmaster next Thursday, Apr. 30 at 10:00 AM (CT).

“The newest addition to Music City’s live music scene will get off to a great start with a concert from Eric Church, who represents what’s great about Music City,” Mayor Dean said. “His songs can’t be confined to just one genre; he draws from country, rock and other types of music that help make the scene here in Nashville so vibrant and eclectic.”

Named one of the “50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now” by Rolling Stone, the EMI Nashville recording artist “… is arguably both the mainstream country artist of the year and the mainstream rock artist of the year and his show made a case for that blend” proclaimed the Memphis Commercial Appeal when reviewing his concert late last year. “

The CMA and four-time ACM Award winner finished 2014 as country music’s top-selling artist, with the year’s highest debut and sales of any release in the format as the critical and commercial success The Outsiders reached Platinum status, marking more than one million albums sold. Debuting at No. 1 on both the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and Top Country Albums chart, The Outsidersgarnered GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM Top Album nominations and features his No.1 hits “Give Me Back My Hometown” and “Talladega” as well as his current single “Like A Wrecking Ball.”

The Outsiders is the follow-up to Church’s Platinum-certified Chief, (named the 2012 Album of the Year by both CMA and ACM, and GRAMMY-nominated for Best Country Album) which featured five Top 20 singles: “Homeboy” (certified Platinum for sales in excess of one million singles); the Top 10 “Like Jesus Does” and the Top 5 “Creepin’” (both certified Gold for sales in excess of 500,000 singles each); and two No. 1 hits “Drink in My Hand” (certified Platinum) and “Springsteen” (certified Double Platinum for sales in excess of two million singles). Church’s 2006 debut album, Sinners Like Me (2006) and his sophomore album Carolina (2009) are both RIAA Gold-certified. Carolina had three hit singles: the Top 10 “Hell on the Heart” as well as Top 20 hit “Smoke A Little Smoke” and Top 10 smash “Love Your Love The Most,” which were both certified Gold. Sinners Like Me spawned three Top 20 singles: “How ‘Bout You,” “Two Pink Lines,” and “Guys Like Me.”

  • CANAAN SMITH CAN’T WAIT TO TOUR WITH THE ‘KING OF COOL.’

Canaan Smith will be headed out with Dierks Bentley on his Sounds of Summer Tour, and he can’t wait to get on the road with his friend, who he’s dubbed “King of Cool.”

“Dierks Bentley, to me, is the King of Cool. When George Strait came out, he was the King of Cool, and I feel like the next guy in line was Dierks. And he’s always been that same guy from the beginning,” says Canaan. “He’s always had a sound. He hasn’t strayed from it, and he’s always presented himself as just a kind of a man’s man, and I like that. He’s inspired me a lot, so when he asked me to go on this tour, I didn’t hesitate at all. I’m honored to be a part of it.”

  • DIERKS BENTLEY CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HOW FANS REACT TO ‘SAY YOU DO’ LIVE ON HIS SOUNDS OF SUMMER TOUR.

Dierks Bentley is closing in on the No.1 spot on the country charts with his latest single, “Say You Do,” which means it’s become really familiar with his crowds over the past few months.

“The fan reaction to ‘Say You Do’ has been incredible. I mean, we just started playing it towards the end [of the Riser Tour], you could already tell it had that stuff that really connects with the audience,” says Dierks. “The cool thing’s gonna be when we go back out in the summer on the Sounds of Summer Tour to see what’s happened to it, because since we left off and now picking back up, the song’s gone from being in the 20s and now it’s up towards No. 1.”

Dierks has a few festivals on the books, such as the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California this weekend, before his Sounds of Summer Tour, kicks off June 5th in Raleigh, North Carolina. The trek features Kip Moore, Canaan Smith and Maddie & Tae.

I’ve had a little taste of that with a few shows we’ve done – just one-offs. But getting back out there on the Sounds of Summer Tour and see what’s happened to this song is going to be a huge surprise for us, something we’re really looking forward to.”
