• LAUREN ALAINA DESCRIBES HER FRIEND JON PARDI IN THE PAIR’S DUET, “GETTING OVER HIM.”

When Lauren Alaina was in the writing room with her co-writers Emily Weisband and Paul DiGiovanni penning her latest single, “Getting Over Him,” she immediately thought of her pal Jon Pardi.

“When I was in the writing room writing it, I said it would be really cool to do it as a duet and show like the male perspective as well” she says. “So, we kind of made up this other character, and then we got a songwriter in town to sing the male part. And then I was listening to it, I was like, ‘It sounds like we described Jon Pardi.’ (laughs) It was very accidental.”

Lauren will hit the road with Florida Georgia Line on their I Love My Country Tour 2021 September 24th in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • PRISCILLA BLOCK PAYS TRIBUTE TO TAYLOR SWIFT AT LAST NIGHT’S NATIONAL MUSIC PUBLISHERS’ ASSOCIATION EVENT.

Priscilla Block paid tribute to her musical influence, Taylor Swift, as the 2021 National Music Publishers’ Association honored the global superstar with the Songwriter Icon Award on Wednesday.

Priscilla turned in a perfect medley of a few of Taylor’s early hits, including “Tim McGraw,” “Teardrops On My Guitar” and “Sparks Fly.” Check it out below.

During Taylor’s virtual acceptance speech, she spoke about why the acknowledgement from the NMPA is so meaningful to her.

“It honors the part of my job that is so magical and mystifying to me still,” she said of the award. “I love songwriting so much because there’s an element to it that’s still really mysterious.”

“I think any songwriter will tell you when you get an idea, you’re not quite sure where it floated down from,” she continued. “But if you can grab onto that idea and turn it into something — a piece of music — that’s where craftsmanship comes in. And that’s where you have the opportunity to learn and to nurture that craft.”

Priscilla is currently making her way up the country charts with “Just About Over You.”

“I think I am more excited about this year’s FARM TOUR than any other year,” shared Luke. “Growing up in a farming family in rural Georgia I know how hard farming can be even on a good year, and how hard those families work- from sun-up to sundown. After the challenges we have all faced in the last year with so many people losing their jobs, struggling to put food on their tables, food supply chains jeopardized, grocery stores struggling to keep food on the shelves in some areas, it is so apparent to me, and I hope everyone, why our farmers are truly the backbone of our country. They never stopped providing for all of us. Ever. It’s time to thank our farmers, once again. It’s going to mean even more to me this year.”

Luke Bryan (Farm Tour) OC: …through the years. 1:04
“Well, yeah, I mean the Farm Tour has grown throughout the years, and the fact that we can set a stage up in a hayfield or some kind of field and people flock to it is what I envisioned when I created Farm Tour, and to obviously help some kids with scholarships and stuff like that. But the Farm Tour has grown every year, and it’s always something we look forward to. It’s really an exciting time to be able to just be out on a farm on a Fall night. Sometimes it’s cool and everybody’s got, it’s perfect jacket weather and everybody’s just enjoying music and having fun, and it’s happening in these little towns that have never gotten a show like this. So, it’s always fun knowing that I leave these little towns, and they can go, ‘Hey, we got to go party out in a field and hear a bunch of Nashville country music singers roll in,’ and give ‘em a great show. So many great memories through the years.”

  • PRISCILLA BLOCK’S LEGENDARY MOMENT WITH RANDY TRAVIS MEANT THE WORLD TO HER.

Early last year, Priscilla Block didn’t have a record deal, didn’t have barely enough money to cover rent, was having probably the worst year of her life until she got noticed on Tik Tok and fans took her song to No. 1 on the iTunes chart and her music career really kicked off. During a relatively tough time, one of country music’s legends gave Priscilla and her band a hand…more specifically, a jacket.

“I was playing at the Nashville Palace with some friends and I look out and it’s Randy Travis just sitting there, hanging out,” says Priscilla. “The night went on, he watched the entire set, and midway through, one of the workers there was like, ‘Hey-Randy wants to auction this jacket off for you guys.’ We’re all like, ‘Whatttt?’ So, the Nashville Palace gave Randy a jacket that said Nashville Palace on it. It was really cool. It was one of their super special jackets, I’m sure. And he signed it and said let’s give it to the band. The worker there was like we’re gonna auction off this signed Randy Travis jacket and all the money’s gonna go to the band up on stage. People are calling out all throughout the restaurant, raising hands, raising hands. We were sitting up on stage, I am crying. Once again one of those moments that no one knows where you’re at in life, and that meant more to me than anything in the world. He didn’t have to do that, but he did.”

Priscilla, who just performed in front of nearly 350,000 people at Nashville’s Fourth of July event, is knocking on the door of Top 25 on the country charts with “Just About Over You.”

Audio / Priscilla Block talks about the time Randy Travis auctioned off a signed jacket and gave her and the band the money.

Just a few short weeks ago, Parker McCollum got engaged to his girlfriend Hallie Ray, and he enlisted the help of his event planning sister to help out to surprise his future wife.

“The proposal I got really lucky with. My sister’s an event planner in Washington, D.C., and I’ve been so busy on the road there was no way that I was going to pull that off on my own,” says Parker. “So, her and Hallie Ray’s mom killed it. I mean, just absolutely took care of the whole deal (and) flew her family and my family in to surprise her. She’d had no idea. She thought we were going to a label dinner. She thought she was walking into this private room where everybody with the record label would be there, and then obviously, when she pulled back the curtain and saw all the flowers and all that stuff. I don’t remember what I said. She doesn’t remember what I said either, but I did the thing and then they all came down and surprised her and we had a little party. It really went off without a hitch. It was great.”

Parker, who is making his mark on the country charts with “To Be Loved By You” (the follow-up to his No. 1 “Pretty Heart”), is set to release his new album, Gold Chain Cowboy, next Friday (July 30th).

EMI Records Nashville’s Kylie Morgan is set to release her debut EP Love, Kylie on Friday (June 11th) – pre-order the new album HERE.

Kylie co-wrote all six songs on her new EP and reveals a transparency and vulnerability that compels listeners to peel back the layers of her story.

“My brand-new and very first EP, Love, Kylie, is so important to me. I wanted to be able to put into words the emotions that you don’t know how to explain. Every song is from me to you,” says Kylie.

Produced by Shane McAnally and Ben Johnson, Kylie details her journey through relationships, life as an artist, and life experiences.

When it came time to name the EP, Kylie reached back to her early publishing pitches for inspiration. She named the EP Love, Kylie, which was the way she ended each pitch email. She found the sign-off made people feel like they were friends, and that’s how she hopes they feel listening to the EP. “It’s a pretty vulnerable state,” she said of releasing her first collection of songs. “I realized that every song that I’ve been writing has been either about me, about my family, about a friend, about someone I know. I wanted the whole EP to feel like a cohesive story and for every song to feel like a chapter.”

Kylie, a vivacious, auburn-haired spitfire with a powerful voice, a sharp songwriting pen and a keen sense of her artistry, released her new song “I Only Date Cowboys” a couple of weeks ago. The fiery new track is vintage Kylie, giving listeners a glimpse into her personality – listen HERE. Additionally, Kylie released her official music video for the lead track on the EP, “Shoulda,” a heavy up-tempo with a sassy, rapid-fire vocal about the should’ve known betters when dabbling with an ex – watch HERE.

Recognizing Kylie’s unique talent, the SMACKSongs team signed her to their roster under the guidance of GRAMMY Award-winning songwriters, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. To give fans a glimpse into her upbringing and passion to pursue music, Kylie returned to her hometown of Newcastle, OK to film her “Hometown Heartland” series. Fans can watch all six episodes HERE. An avid yoga enthusiast, Kylie has earned her official Yoga Alliance Certification and participates in yoga daily. While stuck at home and unable to tour, Kylie created the #namasteathome series where fans can participate in short yoga flows/light workouts, watch HERE.
