Jon Pardi (story behind Beer Light) OC: …which is awesome. :

” ‘Beer Light’ is a song we wrote on a bus trip last year, and it was so cool. Jeff Hyde had this melody and it was just so awesome. They kind of wrote the song, and I kind of came in and we kind of changed the melody and we talked about ‘beer light.’ It’s kind of this moving on song where he’s kind over his wild days of partying to get over this girl and trying to drown his sorrows and now he’s just chill with a cold beer in his hand and having a good time and sitting under that old neon sign, which I think is really cool in a different way to say that, which is awesome.”

Jon Pardi (Bar Downtown and Beer Light on HM Deluxe) OC: …awesome. :23
“‘Bar Downtown’ is awesome. I love this, and I heard this song back when we could go downtown. I thought it was great, and it was just an infectious melody and it’s that wondering where she is kind of song, and I love those kind of songs so I’m glad it made it on the Heartache Medication Deluxe. But I felt like these two songs fit on the Deluxe and when they come out, hearing them all together with the Heartache Medication playlist, it’s gonna be awesome.”

  • SHANIA TWAIN GETS READY TO RELEASE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF HER ICONIC “THE WOMAN IN ME” ALBUM.

Shania Twain gets ready to release the 25th Anniversary Diamond Edition of her huge album, The Woman in Me, on Friday (October 2nd). The diamond edition contains a newly remastered version of the multi-platinum album and previously unreleased tracks, live recordings, and mixes. The Woman in Me: Diamond Edition will be available in two and three CD configurations; the mastered album willbe available in LP and limited-edition color variant LP versions.

Eight of the 12 songs from The Woman in Me appeared on Billboard‘s country singles chart, with four — “Any Man of Mine,” “(If You’re Not in It for Love) I’m Outta Here!” “You Win My Love” and “No One Needs to Know”  reaching No. 1. “Any Man of Mine” also gave Twain her first Top 40 crossover hit. The Woman in Me spent 29 weeks atop the country albums chart and was 1995’s best-selling country album. It won a GRAMMY for Best Country Album in 1996 and later was ranked No. 8 on CMT’s list of 40 Greatest Country Albums.

The Woman in Me, Twain’s second album, debuted at No. 65 on the Billboard country chart in February 1995, entering the Billboard 200 three weeks later at 197. The album continued to climb steadily, finally hitting No. 1 on the country chart in July, the same week “Any Man of Mine” became Twain’s first chart-topping country single. By that point, the album was already gold; by the end of 1995, it had sold 4 million copies, making it the year’s top-selling country album. In 1996, it passed Patsy Cline’s Greatest Hits to become the best-selling album by a female country artist (a title Twain’s 1997 follow-up, Come on Over, would claim in 1999). The Woman in Me reached Diamond status for shipments of 10 million copies in 1997, then 12 million in 2000. It has sold an estimated 20 million copies worldwide.

  • BROTHERS OSBORNE RELEASES “ALL NIGHT” MUSIC VIDEO.

EMI Nashville’s Brothers Osborne debuts the music video for their fiery current single “All Night” today. The high-energy video plays on the limited ability to hang out with friends and conduct a normal social life during the pandemic. Featuring a single guy running out of ways to entertain himself at home, John and TJ come to the rescue by sending a surprise box filled with covid-approved guests – puppets.

The six-time GRAMMY nominees once again partnered with directors Wes Edwards and Ryan Silver, the same team from the ACM and CMA Award-winning video for their Top 10 hit “It Ain’t My Fault.” The puppets were created by Juan Nunez of SoCo Puppets out of Austin, Texas.

“‘All Night’ was a blast to make,” shares John. “We wanted to do a performance video as that’s not something we’ve really done but we wanted to do it in our own style. Wes and Ryan always push the boat out in the most unpredictable ways and this video is no exception.”

The “All Night” video is set to make its broadcast debut this Friday as it will be featured in the opening segment and during ESPN’s Friday Night college football programming (ESPN2, 8pm CT). The song will also be featured throughout the season on ESPN/ABC college football programming.

Shot with baritone guitars and ZZ Top-worthy swagger, “All Night” is featured on the duo’s upcoming third album, Skeletons, set to be released October 9. Skeletons is already receiving rave reviews with Esquire naming it one of the most anticipated albums of 2020 and Rolling Stone featuring the album on their all-genre Fall Music Preview list. Hailed by Billboard as a “feel-good, rocking ditty,” “All Night” recently hit Top 30 on the country airplay charts. Earlier this summer, John and TJ performed “All Night” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (watch HERE)

Keith Urban’s THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1, released worldwide this past week, sets a new mark for the four-time Grammy© Award winner, adding yet another release to a streak that has now seen four simultaneous album debuts at #1 on the charts in the United States, Canada and Australia.  In addition, “One Too Many,” Urban’s duet with P!nk, explodes all around the globe, where he also finds himself having cracked sales and radio charts in the U.K., Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, China, Russia, Belgium and South Africa.

THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1 is Urban’s 9th #1 album in the United States and his 6th in Canada.  It’s also his 4th #1 debut on the ARIA Album chart in Australia, where “One Too Many” debuts at #6 on the ARIA Singles chart.

Always seeking new collaborators, THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1 defines one of the most wide-ranging careers in modern music, trusting the moments is as much THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1 as anything.  He possesses an unadorned willingness to bring the best musical touchstones together seeking not just to expand but to unite influences, genres, trends and the human heart.

  • PARKER MCCOLLUM SET TO RELEASE NEW EP HOLLYWOOD GOLD OCTOBER 16th.

MCA Nashville’s rising star Parker McCollum announces today he will release his new EP, Hollywood Gold, October 16. Parker co-wrote five of the six songs on Hollywood Gold including the previously released track “Young Man’s Blues” as well as his current Top 15 single “Pretty Heart.” Hollywood Gold was produced by award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Jon Randall Stewart.

The title, Hollywood Gold, continues to showcase Parker’s unique bond with his grandfather as Hollywood Gold was the name of a horse his grandfather owned decades ago. Fans can learn more about the backstory of Hollywood Gold HERE.

“To say I’m excited for my fans to listen to this new project, Hollywood Gold, is an understatement,” shares Parker. “I’m always striving to become a better songwriter and I feel like my songwriting on this EP is some of my best to date.”

    Hollywood Gold Track Listing:

    1. “Young Man’s Blues”  (Parker McCollum/Randy Montana
    2. “Like A Cowboy” (Chris Stapleton/Al Anderson)
    3. “Pretty Heart”  (Parker McCollum/Randy Montana
    4. “Hallie Ray Light” (Parker McCollum)
    5. “Hold Me Back” (Parker McCollum/Tony Lane)
    6. “Love You Like That” (Parker McCollum/Billy Montana/Jon Randall Stewart)

A native of Austin, Texas, Parker has made a strong impression on critics and fans alike. American Songwriter notes, “he teeters on the edge of next-level superstardom, taking cues from rule breakers like Chris Stapleton and Kacey Musgraves” while Rolling Stone adds, “Parker is a no-holds-barred, confessional singer-songwriter who excels at relatable tales.” Parker continues to rack up impressive streaming numbers recently crossing over 350M total career domestic streams.

Parker has been named a SiriusXM Highway Finds Artist and has previously been selected as an Artist to Watch by CMT, Rolling Stone, SiriusXM, MusicRow and Sounds Like Nashville. A singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and dedicated road warrior, Parker began building a following in 2015 with his album The Limestone Kid. The track “Meet You in The Middle” became a hit on Texas’ regional radio chart — no small feat for an independent, 22-year-old musician — but it was the album’s widely-acclaimed follow-up, Probably Wrong, that helped Parker find national success. Compared to John Mayer and Jason Isbell by Rolling Stone, Parker supported the album with a string of sold-out shows, bringing record-breaking crowds to venues like San Angelo’s RiverStage and two sold-out night at Billy Bob’s along the way. Born in Conroe, TX, the 27-year-old entrepreneurially-spirited artist bridges the gap between Texas’ homegrown music scene and Nashville’s country-industry headquarters.

  • CHRIS STAPLETON’S “COLD” OUT TODAY.

Chris Stapleton’s new song “Cold” is out today (listen HERE). Written by Stapleton along with producer Dave Cobb and longtime bandmembers, J.T. Cure and Derek Mixon, “Cold” is the second song unveiled from his anticipated new album, Starting Over, out November 13th on Mercury Records Nashville (pre-order/pre-save).

“Cold” follows the album’s title track, which was released last month and is already receiving widespread acclaim—Rolling Stone calls it a “Song You Need to Know,” while Billboard praises, “designed for this moment, an exhalation in the middle of an anxiety-stricken year, with Stapleton’s gruff voice providing hope for a better future.” Watch the official music video for the song, which was directed and filmed by Becky Fluke, HERE.

“Starting Over” begins an album of startling prescience—completed in late February only days before the shutdown began. Across its fourteen tracks are songs that examine life’s simplest joys and most serious struggles. Alongside eleven written by Stapleton with both longtime friends and new collaborators are three carefully chosen covers: John Fogerty’s “Joy Of My Life” and Guy Clark’s “Worry B Gone” and “Old Friends.” The resulting album—both timely and timeless—speaks to and transcends the current moment in ways unimaginable even while it was being created.

The album finds Stapleton back in his second home, Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A (with additional work done at Muscle Shoals Sound and Compass Sound Studio), surrounded by his trusted collaborators as well as some new faces. Produced by Dave Cobb (who also plays acoustic guitar), the record features his beloved wife, Morgane Stapleton (vocals, tambourine), with J.T. Cure (bass) and Derek Mixon (drums). Special guests include legendary musicians Mike Campbell (electric guitar), Benmont Tench (Hammond B3 organ) and Paul Franklin (pedal steel) as well as the All Voices Choir who are featured on “Watch You Burn,” written by Stapleton and Campbell.

Kentucky-born Stapleton is a 5x Grammy, 10x CMA and 7x ACM Award-winner and one of the country’s most respected and beloved musicians. Following 2015’s quadruple platinum breakthrough solo debut album Traveller, Stapleton released two No. 1 albums in 2017. Both From A Room: Volume 1 (certified platinum) and From A Room: Volume 2 (certified gold) take their name from legendary RCA Studio A, where they were recorded with Cobb. Released to overwhelming critical acclaim, The Tennessean praises, “Both are rich with the textures of Stapleton’s vocals that make him one of country music’s most beloved artists, classic country sounds and thoughtful articulate lyrics about love, life and pain.” He was recently announced as the first-ever “Artist-Songwriter of the Decade” recipient by the Academy of Country Music and, next year, will be the subject of a new exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Stapleton’s “All-American Road Show” tour is planned to resume next year. Highlights include headline shows at Washington State’s Gorge Amphitheatre, Chicago’s Wrigley Field, New York’s Madison Square Garden and “A Concert for Kentucky”—a special performance benefitting his newly created Outlaw State of Kind Hometown Fund to be held at University of Kentucky’s Kroger Field on April 24. Presented by Live Nation, the performance is the first concert ever held at UK’s Kroger Field and will feature very special guests Willie Nelson & Family, Sheryl Crow and Yola. 100% of the concert’s net proceeds will go toward Chris and Morgane Stapleton’s Outlaw State of Kind Hometown Fund. Established in partnership with the Blue Grass Community Foundation, the fund will specifically support local and national organizations directly impacting Kentucky, with initial grant distributions focusing on music and arts education. See below for complete itinerary.
