Carrie Underwood won the Academy’s highest honor for Entertainer of the Year with the first ever tie in that category (with Thomas Rhett). This is Carrie’s third win, making her the most awarded female in the ACM Entertainer of the Year category in ACM Awards history.

Carrie helped kick off the 55^th Annual ACM Awards performing “Before He Cheats” from the Grand Ole Opry House as part of the show’s opening along with fellow Entertainer of the Year nominees. Keith Urban is getting ready to release his new album, The Speed of Now, on Friday (September 18th). The Academy of Country Music will present its annual awards show on Wednesday night (September 16th). The show was postponed from April in Las Vegas to September in Nashville due to the global pandemic (COVID-19).
