  • CHRISTMAS 2019: Kip Moore

Kip Moore and his brothers would go on fishing trips with their dad around Christmas before the elder Moore passed away a few years ago, and it was always one of his favorite traditions. Another one of his favorite traditions was watching movies with his family on Christmas Eve.

“The night before Christmas, we would rent a bunch of movies,” says Kip. “My dad would take us to the store, the video store and we would rent a bunch of movies and we’d watch them all through the night. That was always a thing that we’d look forward to was all hanging out together and laugh until 3 or 4 or 5 in the morning, then waking up two hours later for the presents.”

The Georgia native will take some time off after the holidays, but he is working his way up the country charts with his latest single, “She’s Mine.”

Audio / Kip Moore talks about one of his favorite Christmas traditions as a child.

“Growing up, the night before Christmas, we would rent a bunch of movies. My dad would take us to the store, the video store and we would rent a bunch of movies and we’d watch them all through the night. That was always a thing that we’d look forward to was all hanging out together and laugh until 3 or 4 or 5 in the morning, then waking up two hours later for the presents. I hope that I can carry that out when I have a family – I’m still a little ways away from that. [laughs] But, I hope, there comes a time for that when I can, you know, I think all of the video stores will be gone by then, so I guess that’ll be a Netflix night, but hopefully I can do that kind of stuff. I really miss it bad going on the fishing trips. I grew up going on tons of fishing trips with my dad and brothers, and usually the holidays were a time to get to do that again, and I hope I can be half as awesome as my dad was with us, and knowing how much he worked taking the time to take us on those fishing trips.”

  • CHRISTMAS 2019: Darius Rucker

Darius Rucker, who released his Christmas album Home for the Holidays a few years ago, loves to take it easy during the holidays after being on the road all year long. One way he winds down with his family is to watch Christmas movies…however, he can’t pick just one favorite.

“That’s such a hard question, favorite Christmas movie, because there are so many great movies that I can think of just off the top of my head that are great Christmas movies,” says Darius. “But it would be a tie between Miracle on 34th Street, which is still just great acting, great movie. I just love it. I love watching it. I watch it probably four times every Christmas and cry at the end every time. And I love Elf. I just think Elf is one of the absolute great stories and just funniest movies I’ve ever seen, and it just happens to be a Christmas movie. It’s one of my favorite movies.”

The South Carolina native always looks forward to Christmas, not just because he gets a little downtime with his family after being on the road so much, but because he truly enjoys the holiday and all the magic that goes along with it.

One of his favorite holiday dishes is sweet potato pie, which he doesn’t get to enjoy often. “I’m a big food guy, as you can tell by looking at me up here. I like food a lot. But my favorite thing is my sister’s sweet potato pie. I love sweet potato pie so much, and I don’t get it very often. And my sisters always make sure I get a couple during Thanksgiving and Christmas, so that’s my favorite thing – sweet potato pie.”

Darius and his Hootie & the Blowfish bandmates recently released their Imperfect Circle album, featuring their current single, “Hold On.” Darius is set to perform at the Daytona 500 in February, as well as headline, along with Eric Church and Luke Combs, the C2C Music Festival in March. • COUNTRY SUPERSTAR ALAN JACKSON TO SHOWCASE NEW TALENT ON HIS 2020 TOUR.

Country music superstar Alan Jackson will continue his career-long tradition of showcasing new talent on tour by inviting artists from his Nashville honky-tonk, AJ’s Good Time Bar, to perform at several of his concerts for the second year in a row.

Three acts known to locals and those who visit Jackson’s self-owned venue on Music City’s famed Lower Broadway – the duos Carolina Pine and Steel Blossoms and singer-songwriter Cory Farley – will each be featured at stops on Jackson’s 2020 tour. Each night, one will take the stage prior to Jackson’s special guest Tenille Townes (on most shows; schedule below).

Jackson has a long history of giving new talent their first chances to perform in front of arena-size crowds – artists who’ve been on one of their “first big tours” with Alan include Brad Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Sara Evans, Chris Young and, more recently, Jon Pardi and Lauren Alaina. The Country Music Hall of Famer has been proud to provide such talent with an opportunity to perform in front of enthusiastic and welcoming crowds over the years. The inclusion of Carolina Pine, Cory Farley and Steel Blossoms will continue that tradition, while also giving audiences a sense of the music that can be experienced nightly at AJ’s, the bar rated “No. 1 Honky-Tonk in Nashville” by Billboard.

Alan Jackson’s concerts find the country icon performing hits that have gained him legions of longtime fans, songs that continue to draw new crowds as new generations discover his music. His repertoire stands the test of time; it has impacted all sorts of artists who cite Jackson as an influence…and has earned him his place alongside music’s greatest names in the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Fans will hear the songs they love from the man who wrote them and made them famous – such enduring hits as “Here in The Real World,” “Chattahoochee,” “Drive,” “Gone Country,” “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” and many more.

Tickets for Alan Jackson’s 2020 Tour are available at alanjackson.com/tour, where you can find information about Alan, his tour schedule, music and more. VIP Experiences are also available for many of Jackson’s 2020 shows.
