• JON LANGSTON GIVES KUDOS TO HIS MENTOR LUKE BRYAN.

Jon Langston has joined Luke Bryan‘s Country On Tour for some select dates. He opened for the superstar this past weekend, and is set to rejoin Luke on the road on Friday (August 25th) in Evansville, Indiana and Saturday (August 26th) in Maryland Heights, Missouri, as well as October 5th in Orlando, Florida. He says Luke is a great mentor and friend and is excited to be back on the road with him.

“He’s a great person to have in your corner,” says Jon. “I’ve learned a lot from him on the road. Luke is just a great friend, a great mentor, he’s a great guy and would do anything for you, and I’m excited to get back on the road with him. We got to do a big tour with him a few years ago before Covid, and we’re excited to get back on the road with those guys. They’re like family.”

Jon was the first artist signed under Luke Bryan’s Label 32 Bridge Entertainment with EMI Records Nashville.

The Georgia native (and huge Georgia Bulldogs fan) is set to release his debut album, Heart On Ice, September 8th.

  • JORDAN DAVIS BALANCING LIFE AND CAREER WITH THREE CHILDREN.

Jordan Davis is living out his recent multi-week No. 1 song, “Next Thing You Know.” He says now being the father of three children really amplified the idea for “Next Thing You Know,” which he co-wrote with Greylan James, Chase McGill and Josh Osborne.

“Life’s pretty crazy right now, especially in like where we’re at in the touring season. I mean, it’s just like the throes of touring, so it’s like you’re gone from home 100+ dates, most of the time 150, and that’s half the year you don’t get to see the kiddos,” says Jordan. “And I think too, even my son who’s about to turn two, they change so much in this era, in that first year of life, you know and now the second. You leave for a week, you come back and he’s got five new words. It just changes so quick, and you can’t get those moments back. Baby number three kind of heightened the antennas for an idea like ‘Next Thing You Know,’ my kids are gonna be 18 and going to college.”

Jordan and his wife Kristen, who were married in 2017, are the proud parents of Eloise (3 1/2), Locklan (almost 2) and two-month old Elijah.

In other news, Jordan just released his new single “Tucson Too Late” from his Bluebird Days album and will kick off his headlining Damn Good Time Tour on August 31st in Atlanta. His opening acts on select dates include Avery Anna, Gabby Barrett, Danielle Bradberry, Flatland Calvary, Greylan James, Dylan Marlowe, Kameron Marlowe, Mike Ryan, Connor Smith and Georgia Webster.

  • JON PARDI IS LOOKING FORWARD TO BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE GRAND OLE OPRY.

Jon Pardi  is just a couple of months away from becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He will officially be inducted into the famed institution on October 24th.

He’s getting really excited for the long-awaited moment. “It’s a thing that country music is historic for, and it’s good to be a part of history and you know, it’s your family, it’s the Opry, it’s country music and get your name up there with some great, great artists and songwriters and great people,” says Jon. “So, I’m excited to be a part of it.”

He was surprised during his performance in Indio, California at this year’s Stagecoach Festival in April, when his friend and Emmy-winning famed restaurateur, author Guy Fieri directed him and the attention of his thousands of cheering fans to a video where Opry member and Country Music Hall of Famer Alan Jackson appeared officially inviting the California native to become the newest member of the Opry.

Jon, who is poised to enter the country charts with his latest hit, “Your Heart Or Mine,” takes his Mr. Saturday Night World Tour across the pond. Beginning August 25th in Belfast, he’ll make stops in Lutterworth, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, London, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Oslo before wrapping in Stockholm, Sweden on September 7th.

  • BOY NAMED BANJO ANNOUNCES MAJOR LABEL DEBUT ALBUM DUSK OUT SEPTEMBER 29 VIA MERCURY RECORDS NASHVILLE.

Boy Named Banjo has announced their major label debut album Dusk, due out September 29 via Mercury Records Nashville. On Dusk, the Nashville-native group explores the full emotional spectrum of the rich, eclectic sound they’ve honed over the last decade. Along with the announcement, the band also shares their wistful new single “Lonely In This Town” which arrives with a music video that finds them on a reflective late-night car ride.

    PRE-ORDER DUSK | HERE

“I’ve always felt like ‘Lonely In This Town’ is best enjoyed driving with the windows down in your car,” shares banjo player Barton Davies. “The music feels uplifting and euphoric with the three-part harmonies and steady groove, but then the lyrics come in and give the complete opposite vibe. It’s almost like you’re lonely but you’re happy about it. I love that duality in the song.”

Produced by longtime collaborator Oscar Charles (Caroline Spence, Charlie Worsham), Dusk is an electrifying dose of lightning in a bottle over its nine tracks, running a gamut of late-night, fall-in-love party anthems and stripped-down meditations. Boy Named Banjo’s songwriting is as incisive as ever, artfully grappling with lust and longing, hope and heartbreak. Sonically, the band’s performances on the record are nothing short of exhilarating, blurring the lines between Music Row and Laurel Canyon with lush harmonies and bold cinematic arrangements. The end result is a masterfully crafted, larger-than-life major label debut from a group that continues to grow by leaps and bounds with every release.

Widely beloved by loyal fans nationwide for their high-octane live shows, Boy Named Banjo will kick off their coast-to-coast Dusk Til Dawn Tour next month on September 14 in Atlanta – tickets can be found here and a full list of dates can be found below. Audiences will be treated to performances from their extensive catalog and new music from Dusk, in addition to their recent uplifting anthem “What Keeps Me Going” which earned praise from CMT, Holler, Taste of Country, Whiskey Riff and more. 2023 has already shaped up to be another banner year for the band following their Grand Ole Opry debut, a momentous milestone that was documented at People.

Expertly melding an array of musical influences, the five-piece band is a fusion of contemporary country, Americana and folk-rock stacked on a foundation of bluegrass. Their self-released 2012 debut The Tanglewood Sessions helped earn the band a spot at Bonnaroo, while their 2014 follow-up, Long Story Short, led to festival slots everywhere from Hangout Fest to Dierks Bentley’s Seven Peaks. After signing with Mercury Records Nashville in 2020, the following year saw the release of their genre-defying EP Circles, which landed them a performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium alongside dates supporting the likes of Kip Moore, Hank Williams, Jr., Old Crow Medicine Show, and The Cadillac Three. In 2022, Boy Named Banjo made their CMA Fest debut playing at the Ascend Amphitheatre Nighttime Concert as well as a sold-out hometown show at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl.

Formed in their teens, Boy Named Banjo includes Barton Davies (banjo), Ford Garrard (bass/standing bass), Sam McCullough (drums) Willard Logan (mandolin, acoustic/electric guitar) and William Reames (acoustic guitar/harmonica).

  • BRAD PAISLEY ATTENDS RE-OPENING DEDICATION EVENTS FOR HERBERT HOOVER HIGH SCHOOL IN WEST VIRGINIA.

Brad Paisley returned to his home state of West Virginia today to participate in the grand re-opening and dedication of Herbert Hoover High School in Elkview after the historic flood of 2016 that destroyed the school. Brad toured the school, participated in the dedication ribbon cutting ceremony, attended the football scrimmage (against his alma mater John Marshall High School) and performed after the game in the stadium’s end zone.

“This is the nicest high school I have ever seen,” Brad shared at the ribbon cutting. “I can’t tell you how amazing it is to see something that devastating and that terrible turned into something so inspiring. I think an enormous gift has been given to the students of this school. High school can be a very difficult time in a student’s life because it’s filled with trivialities. You’re worried about how you’ll fit in, about what you are wearing, if you’re popular and doing well in classes. But what you’ve been given here is something much larger. It’s been a glimpse of the real world and the wonderful things that human beings can do for one another in the face of disaster. That should over shadow all the trivialities of high school for you. And never lose sight that good people came together to build this for you and your future.”

In 2016, Brad toured the hard-hit area soon after the flood with West Virginia Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Capito and Save The Children’s West Virginia Director. He created a Go-Fund-Me account that collected more than one million dollars with an initial donation of $100,000 from his Paisley Foundation to help the devastated area.

As an advocate for West Virginia Brad has participated in numerous charitable efforts in the state over the last 20 years including annual scholarships to a music or arts student at his alma mater, contributions to The Easter Seals Foundation of Wheeling, purchasing books for area schools and other funding support for flood relief over the years and more.
The title of Brad’s forth coming album, “Son of The Mountains,” is an ode to his home state and the place that shaped him.

    About BRAD PAISLEY:
Brad Paisley has earned his place in country music history as one of the genre’s most talented and decorated male solo artists. For more than 20 years, his songwriting and unmatched showmanship have won him numerous awards, including three GRAMMYs, two American Music Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, and 14 Country Music Association Awards including a highly coveted Entertainer of the Year honor and recognition as the most successful CMA Award co-host in history, alongside Carrie Underwood, for 11 consecutive years. A member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001, Paisley has written 21 of his 25 No. 1 hits, and in 2008 became the first artist to achieve 10 consecutive Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 singles. The superstar’s past works have amassed nearly 5 billion career streams.
  • CATIE OFFERMAN RELEASES NEW COLLABORATION — “ASK ME TO DANCE” — WITH HAYES CARLL.

Catie Offerman released a new song today, “Ask Me To Dance,” featuring singer-songwriter and fellow Texas native, Hayes Carll. Written by Offerman, Brent Cobb and Neil Medley, the song was produced by Dann Huff.

After rescheduling their writing sessions multiple times, Offerman, Cobb and Medley eventually got together and started working on another song, but it wasn’t working. Under the backdrop of a sunset and some beer, the idea of “Ask Me To Dance” was suggested. Offerman says the song fell out “pretty naturally.”

“I love listening back to the work tape – it’s the best kind of laid back, and it reminds me of a Texas dancehall at closing time,” said Offerman. “When we started talking about the song going on my (upcoming) project, I immediately thought of Hayes. He’s one of my favorite singer-songwriters and one of my favorite Texans. I am so grateful that he said yes to being a part of this song.”

“Catie is so ridiculously talented, and I loved the wit and playfulness of this song, so when she asked if I would sing on it with her, I said yes straight away,” added Carll. “We had a lot of fun recording the song and I think it shows in the way it turned out.”

    Lyrics

This cover band knows more songs than the jukebox

Well, I don’t give a damn to sit here and listen to you talk

Lean in close, let me tell you something

I didn’t get dressed up for nothing

Beer’s getting warm, your feet look cold

I’m getting bored, and the night’s getting old

Neon’s running out of buzz, time’s running out on us

You better move quick before you lose your chance

Come on, boy, ask me to dance

Well, darlin’ I’ve got a pair of two left boots

How this night ends up is up to you

Well, the smoke is thick and everybody’s drinking

    Ain’t no sense in overthinking

Beers getting warm, your feet look cold

I’m getting bored, and the night’s getting old

Neon’s running out of buzz, time’s running out on us

You better move quick before you lose your chance

Come on, boy, ask me to dance

    Let’s go dance

I’ve already given you all of the signs

So, pull me in your arms before I change my mind

The beers getting warm, your feet look cold

You’re looking bored, and the night’s getting old

We’re about running all out of buzz, time’s running out on us

You better move quick before you lose your chance

Come on, boy, ask me to dance

All you gotta do is, baby, take my hand

And come on, boy, ask me to dance

    Let’s go dance

    About Catie Offerman:
Catie Offerman may be a new name to country music fans, but she’s already gaining a reputation as one of the genre’s most skilled players and promising modern traditionalists. Originally from New Braunfels, Texas, Offerman grew up on a horse ranch. Home schooled by her father in the tack room of their barn, she gravitated towards music at a young age. Offerman started playing piano at the age of four which eventually led her to pursue other instruments such as violin, accordion and more. When she was 11, Offerman’s accordion teacher asked her to join his polka band. She played accordion and fiddle at German fests across the state for years, touring before she could even drive. Offerman also explored her love for Western Swing, diving into Bob Wills music headfirst. At the age of 19 she graduated from Berklee College of Music. She spent time in Sweden and Los Angeles before settling down in Nashville. In 2020 Catie signed a record deal with Universal Music group, sharing the same imprint as her idol, George Strait. When not writing or in the studio Catie is where she feels most comfortable – on the road. She’s toured with national acts such as Parker McCollum, Ian Munsick and Ashley McBryde. She’s collaborated with fellow Texans such as Josh Abbott, Robert Earl Keen, Kevin Fowler and Hayes Carll. She’s performed on the Grand Ole Opry and brought her style of Texas music across the pond to C2C 2023 in London. For more information visit catieofferman.com.

“‘Ask Me To Dance’ is just such a fun little tune. It is just a blast, and I love it. It’s just spontaneity that’s so much my personality and I love it. It’s like sitting in a honkytonk and having some fun. I hope this song makes you want to put on your boots, drink a beer, get out on the dance floor, and I don’t know, maybe find you a cowboy. Who knows?”
