• KYLIE MORGAN LOVES HER ROLE AS BIG SISTER.

Kylie Morgan loves being a big sister to Raylee, who seems to be following in the country singer’s footsteps. Kylie prayed and wished for a baby sister, and she finally got one when she was 10 years old.

“Man, I prayed and begged and asked for a little sister for 10 years,” says Kylie. “Every single Easter, every single Christmas, I asked the tooth fairy one time, and I don’t think you can even do that. And I wanted someone, I wanted a friend, I wanted a built-in best friend, and that’s what I got after all these years. I will never forget the time when my mom and dad told me they were pregnant, and I was just so overwhelmed with joy that I already felt a sense of just connection even before she got here because the fact of having a little sister and always having a reflection of you is what was so important to me. That’s why I continue to actually try and be better is for her, because I want her to learn from my mistakes and I have made a lot of them and not proud of a lot of ‘em, but I would make them all over again if it taught her even one thing. And just to have someone that I can always love through anything and her love me back is just something that you can’t ever put into words.”

Kylie is climbing the country charts with her single “If He Wanted To He Would,” which just got an extra boost from Kelly Clarkson on her television show. Earlier this week, Kelly performed the song as part of her Kellyoke which opens the show.

  • CARRIE UNDERWOOD RELEASES “OUT OF THAT TRUCK” TO RADIO.

Carrie Underwood has released her song, “Out Of That Truck,” to radio. She co-wrote the tune with David Garcia and Lydia Vaughan, and she says it’s about memories that pop up in familiar places.

“The inspiration behind ‘Out Of That Truck’ is basically just about the physical markers that somebody can leave behind in your life, and I feel like we’ve all got those to some extent.” says Carrie. “Whether you’re like walking through the house that you grew up in and you see things of your parents or some book or piece of jewelry or something that it’s like, those things remind you of somebody and feel like if you grew up in a small town like I did, you spend a lot of time in your vehicle. When I think back to friends or people that I dated or whatever, it’s kind of like you remember being with them in vehicles, and if you have something that you’ve had for a long time, you can definitely kind of look over to the seat next to you and almost see the other person there. So, that’s kind of what it’s all about, you know, a love that is no more, but you’ve kind of left your mark everywhere.”

Carrie returns to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry for two shows on June 6th before heading back to Las Vegas for her Reflections residency at Resorts World June 21st.

  • JOSH TURNER CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF “LONG BLACK TRAIN.”

Josh Turner is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his hit album, Long Black Train, and the album’s second single of the same name, which were both certified Platinum by the R.I.A.A. On Friday (May 19th), the album was released on vinyl for the very first time, to coincide with the anniversary of the single’s original 2003 release date.

Josh wrote “Long Black Train” while he was still attending Nashville’s Belmont University. “I just remember it being super dark when I had the vision come to me of what I saw, and then I got back to my apartment,” he recalls. “I had these string lights hanging around the perimeter of my ceiling in my room, and I just sat down on the bed and I put my capo on the third fret and just played this B flat chord for what seemed like an eternity before the words started coming out.”

The South Carolina native says he owes his 20 years of success to the fans, country radio and his supportive family and team. “The fact that I’ve been able to have hits and sell records and continue to sell tickets for the last two decades, I think that is the big reason why I’m sitting here celebrating 20 years of my first hit single. Because had it not been for the support of the fans and radio and different people, I wouldn’t have this opportunity or privilege.”

“I remember I was in a class called the History of Commercial Music, which I loved that class because I was learning a lot about different artists and different bands and different songs that I wasn’t really familiar with. And that was the class I was in when I found out that the complete Hank Williams box set had been attained by the music library (at Belmont University), and I just perked up when I heard that because I was like I’ve got to get over there as quick as possible and be the first one to check it out. I knew it was coming out, but they were charging like over $200 for it and as a poor college student I couldn’t afford it. And so, that’s one thing that I remember that I rarely talk about in interviews, and then I just remember the walk from the library to my apartment. It was just an unusually dark night, like it was just, I don’t know if the moon was out, I don’t know if it was cloudy. I don’t know, I just remember it being super dark when I had the vision come to me of what I saw, and then I got back to my apartment. I had these string lights hanging around the perimeter of my ceiling in my room, and I just sat down on the bed and I put my capo on the third fret and just played this B flat chord for what seemed like an eternity before the words started coming out.”

  • TYLER HUBBARD EARNS SECOND NO. 1 FROM HIS DEBUT SOLO ALBUM WITH “DANCIN’ IN THE COUNTRY.”

Tyler Hubbard is sitting atop the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart this week with his hit song “Dancin’ In The Country,” marking his second No. 1 as a solo artist, and his 21st career chart topper on Country Radio. Hubbard now holds the record for most spins in an official tracked week on Mediabase country’s mainstream panel.

Written by Tyler, Keith Urban, Ross Copperman and Jon Nite, “Dancin’ In The Country” is the second single off Hubbard’s debut solo album, Tyler Hubbard. His debut single, “5 Foot 9,” also hit No. 1 and was released exactly one year ago (5/20/22). Hubbard celebrated his first year as a solo artist this past weekend when he surprised fans with a 75-minute pop-up show at Nashville’s famed honky tonk, The Stage, on Saturday night.

“Having a second No. 1, one year to the day after my debut solo single was released, is really incredible,” said Hubbard. “It’s been an amazing year, and I’m thankful to Country Radio and the fans for embracing my music, and to Keith, Ross and Jon for sharing their creative genius with me.”

“Dancin’ In The Country” has almost 155M global streams, already hit No. 1 on SXM’s The Highway and the MusicRow chart, and the song spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Canadian Country Radio Chart. CMT calls the track “bouncy banger infused with thrilling guitar pull and Hubbard’s signature country-pop sound.”

Tyler is continuing to write, record and tour the country at fairs and festivals throughout the summer.

So, they were all about it, and yeah, it was a cool idea. I think the team actually brought the idea to me and it took me a second to be like, ‘Wait! Release the demo?’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s genius. Let’s do that.’ So, yeah, I’m happy it’s out. I’m really proud of it, and I love getting to work with all those guys, so it’s cool.”

  • CARRIE UNDERWOOD SAYS HER GRAND OLE OPRY MEMBERSHIP IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS SHE’S EVER ACCOMPLISHED.

Carrie Underwood celebrated her 15th Anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry with a two-show performance this past Saturday (May 13th). While she says it’s unbelievable she’s been a member for a decade and a half, it’s something that has always meant so much to her.

Carrie made her Grand Ole Opry performance debut on June 10th, 2005, just two weeks after winning American Idol. Underwood’s love for the Opry started as a child as she grew up watching and listening to the show, dreaming of one day performing there and even becoming a member herself. The multi-GRAMMY®/CMA/ACM award winner was officially inducted in to the Opry family on May 8th, 2008 by fellow Oklahoman, Opry member Garth Brooks.

“It’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 years that I have been a member of the Grand Ole Opry, but it has always been just something that’s meant so much to me. I feel like I’ve been very blessed to take a part in a lot of awards shows and things like that over the years, but kind of having THIS thing in my career that I feel like I was able to accomplish is just one of the most important things that I think I have ever done,” says Carrie. “I love the Opry. I love the family. I love that it signifies being a part of country music, and we all it the Mother Church and we do so for very good reason. It is like going to church and you can pay your respects to those that came before, those that are playing now and whoever’s going to come later on. So, it’s just a really cool thing just being able to be a part of that family. I always love going to the shows, and you never know who’s going to be on stage and you hear a lot of people doing what they love. It’s like singing in your living room. It’s very comfortable and relaxed and very sweet.”
