Reba McEntire will reportedly star in a television adaptation of “Fried Green Tomatoes” with legendary producer Norman Lear at the helm as executive producer, according to Variety. The hour-long drama, possibly airing on NBC, is described as “a modernization of the novel and movie that explores the lives of descendants from the original work. When present-day Idgie Threadgoode (McEntire) returns to Whistle Stop after a decade away, she must wrestle with a changed town, estranged daughter, faltering cafe and life-changing secret.” Reba is also said to be one of the executive producers, as well.

Reba McEntire, Brothers Osborne and Little Big Town are among the artists performing at various venues around Nashville for the virtual Save Our Stages Festival, taking place October 16^th – 18^th. The three-day event will also include performances by Kelsea Ballerini, Dave Matthews, Marshmello, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Jason Mraz, Foo Fighters, Leon Bridges and many more. This benefit will raise awareness and money for the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund to support independent music venues across the nation during this devastating pandemic. Sam Hunt has been added to the list of performers at this year’s CMT Music Awards. Sam is up for Male Video of the Year for “Hard to Forget,” and he’s also nominated for CMT Performance of the Year for his cover of Reba McEntire’s iconic hit, “Fancy,” at the 2019 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony. He joins previously announced performers Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Kane Brown, Dan + Shay and Ashley McBryde on the main stage. Also performing are Gabby Barrett and Morgan Wallen, as well as several performances from the the Ram Trucks Side Stage featuring Caylee Hammack, Mickey Guyton, Travis Denning, Ingrid Andress, Hardy and Riley Green. Shania Twain will also make an appearance at the CMT Awards ceremony, her first since 2011. The 2020 CMT Music Awards will air October 21st beginning at 8pm ET/7pm CT.

John and TJ, who are making their way up the country charts with their latest single “All Night,” are nominated for CMA Vocal Duo of the Year at this year’s CMA Awards. The 54th Annual CMA Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker, will be broadcast live from Nashville on November 11th at 8pm ET on ABC.

The guys are also up for Duo Video of the Year for next week’s CMT Music Awards for their studio performance of “All Night.” The CMT Music Awards will air October 21st at 8pm ET/7pm CT on CMT.

EMI Nashville’s Brothers Osborne releases their highly anticipated third album Skeletons today, listen HERE. Skeletons features 12 songs all co-written by Brothers Osborne including “Hatin’ Somebody” which they are set to perform on ABC’s Good Morning America Monday, October 12. Rolling Stone describes “Hatin’ Somebody” as “built around sizzling, woozy electric and acoustic slide guitar that recalls Sticky Fingers-era Rolling Stones.”

Skeletons was produced by Jay Joyce and has already received rave reviews with Esquire naming it one of the most anticipated albums of 2020 while Rolling Stone featured the album on their all-genre Fall Music Preview list. Associated Press adds, “Brothers Osborne can expect more GRAMMY nominations, and maybe even a win, with the release of their third album.”

The singer/songwriter siblings recently released the music video for their fiery current Top 30 single “All Night,” watch HERE. The high-energy video plays on the limited ability to hang out with friends and conduct a normal social life during the pandemic. Featuring a single guy running out of ways to entertain himself at home, John and TJ come to the rescue by sending a surprise box filled with covid-approved guests – puppets. The Maryland natives once again partnered with directors Wes Edwards and Ryan Silver, the same team from the ACM and CMA Award-winning video for their Top 10 hit “It Ain’t My Fault.” The puppets were created by Juan Nunez of SoCo Puppets out of Austin, Texas. The “All Night” video made its broadcast debut last week during ESPN’s Friday Night college football programming and will continue to be featured throughout the season on ESPN/ABC.

Brothers Osborne re getting ready to release their third studio album, Skeletons, tomorrow (October 9th). John and TJ Osborne teamed up with longtime producer Jay Joyce for Skeletons and co-wrote every track on the project along with frequent collaborators Lee Miller, Craig Wiseman, Natalie Hemby, Casey Beathard and more.

The guys crafted the album with songs that would play very well during their live show, which is unfortunately a little ironic since touring was put on hold for 2020. However, fans are gravitating towards the album’s songs as something they’ve needed during this uncertain time.

“Skeletons is a record that was essentially brought on because we wanted to play more new songs live,” says John. “So going into this record T.J. and I decided let’s make a record that no matter what song we just cherry pick out of the record we can do it during our show. And that is how we decided the songs that we ended up on the record. And we started with just like every other artist, 30, 40 plus songs. We started whittling them down, ‘well we might be able to play that. I don’t know if we would be able to play that.’ And that’s how we ended up with Skeletons. And it was really birthed from just playing live shows.”

The nominations for this year’s CMT MUSIC AWARDS were announced on Wednesday (September 23rd), and several UMG Nashville artists were among the nominees.

Sam Hunt picked up three nods, including Video of the Year (“Hard To Forget”); Male Video of the Year (“Hard To Forget”) and CMT Performance of the Year (“Fancy” from CMT Artists of the Year show).

Carrie Underwood, who reigns as the most awarded artist in CMT Music Awards history with 20 wins, is up for two awards including Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year  for “Drinking Alone;” and Little Big Town is also up for a pair of awards including Video of the Year (“Sugar Coat”) and Group Video of the Year (“Wine, Beer, Whiskey”).

“Breakthrough Video of the Year” nominees include Caylee Hammack (“Family Tree”) and Travis Denning (“After a Few”).

The finalists for “Video of the Year” will be announced on October 12; fans will be able to vote throughout the week until October 16 to determine the winner.

The Grand Ole Opry celebrated the tradition and music of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on tonight’s show, the 4,942^nd consecutive Saturday night broadcast. The Opry, originally scheduled to be part of this year’s Bonnaroo, which was unfortunately forced to cancel, continued with a special Opry at Bonnaroo livestream featuring performances by Brothers Osborne, Wendy Moten and Opry member Ricky Skaggs, all of who have performed at Bonnaroo.

“It feels good to be here,” Brothers Osborne shouted after performing “Skeletons,” the title from their upcoming new album scheduled for release on October 9th . “We have done some livestreams from our house but the energy of this room, it doesn’t need anyone in it to to get worked up. Maybe it’s the circle.” The award-winning duo also performed their current single “All Night” from Skeletons and their smash “It Ain’t My Fault.”

The special Opry at Bonnaroo aired on Circle TV , livestreamed on Circle All Access YouTube, Twitter and Facebook channels, SiriusXM as well as the Opry’s flagship home 650 WSM AM and wsmonline.com.

The Academy of Country Music will present its annual awards show on Wednesday night (September 16th). The show was postponed from April in Las Vegas to September in Nashville due to the global pandemic (COVID-19).

For the first time in the show’s history, the awards will take place in Nashville, broadcasting from three iconic Country Music venues: Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe. The reigning Entertainer of the Year, Keith Urban, will host the show from The Grand Ole Opry House.

Performances include a star-studded medley from the night’s Entertainer of the Year nominees – Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett – to kick off the show, as well as other performances by Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and Pink, Blake Shelton with Gwen Stefani, Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Riley Green, Tenille Townes, Thomas Rhett with Jon Pardi, Eric Church, Mickey Guyton, Morgan Wallen, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Florida Georgia Line, Trisha Yearwood, Taylor Swift and Luke Bryan.
